  1. Sold to some gents that're taking her away to Spain to live a life in the sun. End of an era for me
  2. Likely, as it was an untouched, old autobox when it was mapped. I'd be much more confident with the new one now David's done his magic with it and it's running proper Titan fluid etc.
  3. Cheers Price reduced to £14,500 - the neighbours aren't best pleased about the number of cars I've got floating around at the moment and need to get it shifted I've also added a note that the boost is limited in 1st and 2nd to 0.8 bar, then up to 1.2 in 3rd and 4th. If I had the confidence messing around with boost levels on the ECU, I'd give it a go... but I don't. I'm sure it's an easy to change option somewhere(?)
  4. Hi all, Not sure how I ended up with 5, but oh well. If anybody is after a single injector I can do these for £5 each delivered, or the lot for £20 delivered.
  5. Cheers guys, took her for a spin and gave her a proper wash today. Definitely going to miss the power
  6. No worries, it's probably stuff I should have included in the first post Everything in the single setup was brand new and I've got invoices to back this all up. It has a Walboro (425?) pump and I'd imagine that the lines were replaced (as basically everything was) but I'll find all of the invoices later tonight to verify that. I'll try and nip home in my lunch break to take a picture of the engine bay from a few more angles. And yes I'm around this weekend
  7. Engine was built by Martin @ MK Auto Repairs (Very well known in the Celica GT-Four forums) and mapped by Lyndon.
  8. As the title suggests, I'm selling an intake manifold that's painted black. It's pretty big so I'd rather not post it, but I can if need be. Looking for £50 + £10 if postage is required
  9. The previous owner of my Supra replaced these circa 30,000 miles ago, although I'm not sure if they were new or used at the time, therefore the mileage is unknown. For some reason I've only got 5, too. Happy to sell on their own at £12 delivered each, or the full set for £50 delivered. These were working fine at the time of removal. They were replaced when trying to diagnose a misfire, turned out they weren't the culprit, but I decided to keep the new coil packs anyway.
  10. Hi guys, The time has come to look at selling up, having a silly fast car isn't always the best idea when you're saving for a new home! and I also really miss my old MR2 I've had the car since 2014 when I bought it from SkydiveMacca, who had not long bought it from Ben San - both members of the forum (so you can dig around on a bit more of the car's history if you'd like!) originally as a fairly stock TT auto. Not long after I had it, it started smoking so I had the twins rebuilt... which proceeded to smoke almost straight away again. Turns out it had contamination in the engine and it needed to be rebuilt. Therefore, quite an extensive bit of work has gone in to this... spec below. Single build bits: Rebuilt head Rebuilt engine (86.5mm pistons, CE I believe but will verify) New cams (Stock) Whifbitz twin wastegate manifold 2 x 40mm turbosmart wastegates (connected to two screamer pipes) Borg Warner S362 turbo Mishimoto intercooler New Mishimoto radiator Link G4+ ECU DavidP shimmed A340E gearbox (Recently replaced gearbox, fully serviced before fitting the new one) 4 x Goodyear asymmetric tyres (all less than 1,500 miles) Proper coolant overflow tank (ignore the bottle in the picture below, it was temporary! Will replace picture.) SARD 800CC injectors (all flow corrected etc.) Turbosmart BOV (Lots of flutters. It's nice.) Whifbitz coil packs Came with car originally: Bilstein shocks (lowered 30mm) A02B Diff UK brakes Rota GTR/GTR-D wheels (18") Heckler LED converted dashboard. This looks amazing at night - will grab a better picture soon. Whifbitz 4" twin box exhaust Other bits of information: M plate J-spec car (GZ with UK brakes) 1995 285,000 on the car, much less on the engine MOT expires January 2018 The body itself is a high miler (280,000 KILOMETRES ish) but it's done less than 3,000 miles since the rebuild. Truthfully, the rebuild went on so long and cost me so much that I sort of fell out of love with the car. I haven't skimped anywhere on the spec, which is hopefully visible above. It has a nice, low grumble on idle but really comes to life when you get on boost with the screamer pipes. I don't think it'd pass on a track day, but it sounds bloody amazing. The car was built with a target of a fast spooling 600bhp, which I can verify it certainly feels like. I haven't had the car properly put on the dyno since I got it back though. Bad bits: Spoiler is only roughly painted, could do with a proper spray and polish up. The carbon is absolutely fine though. Small spot of rust appearing around the rear windscreen Passenger side skirt is cracked. I got a bit too close to the kerb one day All four wheels could do with a refurb. Fine from any sort of distance, but up close you can see they're chipped. Usual little dings on the doors, nothing too harsh, but they're there. Could do with an hour with someone that knows Link ECUs - boost is limited to 0.8 bar in second gear by the ECU, originally to prolong the life of the gearbox, although it's no longer an issue with the DavidP box. Anyway, here are some pictures: I absolutely welcome any inspection or questions and will happily take you out in the car. Based in Milton Keynes. Asking £14,500
  11. Pictures don't do it justice, this thing looks even better in person - especially when the sun hits it (which it did for all of thirty seconds...)
  12. Green! But it's very difficult to tell, almost looks black.
  13. Looking forward to seeing this!
  14. Or when you're sat in traffic. You can just let it dawdle through for you.
  15. But what if you DO want to drive, just not on those long, boring straight motorway journeys?
  16. It's been a long time since I've updated this, so... Since the last post, the car developed a misfire problem, had that sorted out, all fresh coil packs put in etc. as well as a little tinkering with the map. It now runs beautifully, starts first time and it's like a bloody rocket - ideal! At least, it was until the gearbox decided to quit its job (Stock autobox with two fairly hefty coolers). So, I sourced another TT gearbox and had it shimmed up by DavidP - in the process gaining both a much better cared for gearbox and some solid advice on caring for it going forwards. Plenty of lessons learned that day. Anyway, the gearbox will be replaced on Friday this week to get me back out again. Having the car 'off the road' does have its benefits though - it meant that I could finally tackle the horrible, flaking-off, gold painted calipers from one of the previous owners. Before: After: Wahey, one task ticked off, ten million more to go! Next up is getting the wheels tidied up, as you can probably see from the pictures above, they're not in the best shape. Thankfully, during the downtime diagnosing the misfire, we also had chance to properly fix a small spot of creeping rust around the windscreen. So, the current hit list, as it stands: • Fit gearbox temperature gauge • Fit gearbox thermostat • Refurbish wheels • Remove redundant electrical devices from inside the car (i.e. the front spoiler controller, traction control switch etc.) • Replace heater matrix pipe at back of engine bay • Get the car on the dyno for some actual numbers!
  17. I really want to make a joke about the 'thumbnail'.
  18. Based on the number of people running hybrid/shimmed boxes and single turbo builds with proper cooling...i'm not sure the above statement is entirely true. Still, if it gives you peace of mind, it's worth every penny.
  19. For reference, my total spend has been: £200 new autobox, £90 on fluids (you'd need these either way), £50 to get the actuators shimmed and £40 for a new strainer. Not sure how much fitting is going to be yet. I'd probably have taken the Titan box from Gaz if funds were a bit better at the moment
  20. Have a chat to Mk4gaz - i think he has a titan box for sale at the moment (as he has now gone manual)
  21. £200 for a known good working box. If you join the group, any well priced autoboxes that are found are posted up on there I've since spent a few quid on new fluids and a few parts to keep it running sweet, but still a lot less than a boostlogic box!
  22. £200 for a known good working box. If you join the group, any well priced autoboxes that are found are posted up on there
  23. Thanks Frank. With mine, it was working perfectly at lunch time, but felt like it was slipping on the way home. Eventually, the gears wouldn't engage at all. If I stopped the car for 5 mins to let it cool, I was able to crawl it a bit further - though in doing so I have knackered the box. Thankfully TT autoboxes aren't too pricey, and it gave me chance to get the new one shimmed up by David Edit: Reverse wouldn't select on mine after I crawled it back. At first, it did, but then dropped off after a while :/
  24. Same problem for me the other week with my single turbo auto, was the box overheating because it hadn't properly been cared for, so I've got a fresh box and had DavidP work his magic on it, replaced the strainer and looking to get it in the car next week or so. I'm on my phone at the moment so can't link it, but check out the A340E transmission group (can find it via my profile) - it'll have the answers to pretty much everything auto related.
