  1. Oooh, you poor thing Dave. I wish I had your problems. You wouldn't hear me moaning about it! :friday:

Exhaust paste will work perfectly well if the facing surfaces are sound; clean, flat and grease-free. If they aren't, it won't. Or you can use OEM gaskets. Your choice really.
  3. Blimey. Amazing how friends can be so ruthless when money comes into it. Such a shame. How much are we talking about? Just ballpark, 10k? 50k? I would seriously consider escalating things and getting nasty seeing as the guy certainly seems to taking the piss out of you. Do you know anyone suitable to collect the debt on your behalf? 65-80% is better than 0% - assuming we're talking serious money here.
  4. Give the guy a break in his For Sale thread! It's definitely a facelift car. Plenty of them built around the switchover used the earlier style front wings and a couple of other bits and bobs. There's nothing suspect about a 96 model like this. If it was, say, a 98/99 with prefacelift wings it would be ddgy but this one seems pukka to me.

  7. I played GRID to death on the 360. Online I eventually got to the highest level, Legend or somesuch, and then never played it again. Great game though. I got my copy for £8 from the Royal Mail 'undeliverable parcels' shop opposite IBM Greeford - it's bargainmungous mate in there!

  11. I would but my crystal ball is on the fritz, so I can't get your email address.
  12. Mad, innit? So where are these people that you started this thread about speeding? Here where? On this site? In Wales? The UK? Europe?
  13. Why is people driving fast a problem for you? My problem today is people in the pissing rain and nose-to-tail motorway traffic with their damn rear fog light on.
  14. Same as. Most of the commonly mentioned names on this thread I already know or have at least met. The elusive Michael being the main exception. Alex IRL is the person least like I expected. Anyone who hasn't met Dude, Terry S, Migster and Matt Harwood have missed a good laugh too - shame none of them post any more.
  15. Sorry mate, I did have a terrible hangover that day. For me, definitely Tannhauser.
  16. Not sure what you're getting at, but yeah, that's always possible anyway, regardless of the 112mph limiter.
  17. So looking at it another way the question is: Is an auto TT doing less than 112pmh at its maximum power in 3rd gear. I don't think so. I reckon max power in 3rd is more than that speed.
  18. I did just one top speed run but they take the ¼ time from that as well. I did zero actual quarters. As Brian said, I got a really bad start and bogged down, had to dip the clutch and relaunch, so my 60' time was pathetic (about 2.8 iirc) - the 130.0 mph terminal speed was still good though. With a better driver than me doing the launch I'm confident the car could trap 135mph+
  19. Interesting car but £5500 for a MkIII ??? When I clicked the link I was expecting to see 2k-2½k.
  20. Anything but white will make you look a right bell-end. (Obviously I mean that in the most respectful and non-confrontational way.)
