  1. The engine bay looks like it's been painted black. What is the colour code number on the VIN plate?
  2. I think this car looks really good value for 8k. Nice colour, expensive and desirable wheels, not high milage and most relevantly - it's a 6sp TT. What do you want for 8k? I'd have this car over any aeortop out there. The only thing that might count against it is if it's been resprayed (hard to tell from the pics). I've got a feeling it's been resprayed that colour. Or is it stock Anthacite/MSB? Has it been reprayed Glen? If so, what colour was it originally? What's the quality of the respray like?
  3. Amazing isn't it? And depressing. You've changed a hell of a lot in ten years. Up till I was 25 I used to be really slim, had trouble putting weight on in fact. Once I got to 30 the weight started pileing on. Now I'm 41 with a double chin and a beer gut. We should make this a "Me 10 years ago and now" thread. That would be a laugh.

  5. In an emergency once I had four fully grown guys (Including me) in my Supra. Three of us are over 6 foot too. It was not a pleasant journey for any of us. So much so that one of the guys got a taxi back to work from the pub.

  14. SimonB may still have some spares because I sent him a few with some centre caps a while back. Worth a PM anyway if he doesn't see this thread. There's a couple of different styles though, it might be worth taking a photo of the type you're after.
  15. errr, yeah ....I was talking about LHD cars, yes that's it... I didn't get it totally wrong at all honest
  16. Yes it should have a VIN plate. No it shouldn't have been touched/altered by anyone during the import process. They look like this: http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/5591/chassisplateexample2lr.th.jpg and can be found on the passenger side inner wing. You can see one in this pic: http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/7059/vvtienginebay3bd.th.jpg There's also the chassis number stamped into the bodywork, at the top of the bulkhead. You can see it at the rear of the engine in this pic: http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/3324/chassisnumber0kt.th.jpg

    Polishing "Grit"

Non-intricate areas (not the altenator) can be done with polishing/buffing mops and polishing wax on a pillar drill or bench grinder. A sander and even a angle grinder can be usefull to remove really rough casting marks before finally polishing. It needs to be done in stages. Long and tedious work it is. I've spent many hours polishing stock turbo pipework etc but good results can be achieved.

    Polishing "Grit"

Might help if we knew what "bits" are you talking about.
  19. That's horrible. I wouldn't be seen dead in that.
  20. ... edit Nevermind, I see you already answered my question in the first post - sorry
  21. That's not what Sarah said last time I saw her.
  22. No, I've always taken them off in one piece. It's a bit of a struggle getting them back on. I'll remember that for next time though!
