  1. pistonheads just got a mention on the ITV news. Apparently they've raised 40k already to go towards the air ambulance.
  2. Check the crank pulley. Failure of this item can be very nasty and expensive.
  3. Hi Ian Yeah I've been using newzbin.com for ages but just because you can get a NBZ it doesn't mean that it's on EasyNews still. I'm quite happy with NewzBin Pro really but I might give NewsLeecher a try if I don't have to pay for it.

I like that ImportPro.com one. It has a certain ring to it.
  5. @ the license plate on the Aussie car!

.net is 3rd choice behind .com and .co.uk all the others just look wrong
  8. Legacy = old shit that is still used but people generally don't learn anymore and businesses don't buy anymore. Edit: Bah! Bobbeh beat me to it
  9. Very true. I know mainframe A/Ps making 2.5k a week
  10. I was an Analyst/Programmer for 6 years, up til I got made redundant this time last year. It's an alright way of learning a living I suppose. The money was pretty good but the work is dull. It's certainly not what I'd choose if I had my time over.
  11. I suppose it can if there was bleeding inside the skull
  12. I might go back to GigaNews. I switched to EasyNews a couple of months ago but their NNTP retention is terrible, like less than a fortnight! To be fair, their retention is pretty good via HTTP but I don't like their web interface at all. I just wish Giganews would roll-over unused credit from month to month.
  13. Nah, I scored 55 points last week, your team scored 51, so I'm still pulling away! I'm not doing all that well though, my team is in 1,723rd position although there are 931,712 teams in total.
  14. 330? I thought they quoted 280 for the j-spec and 326 for the UK spec.
  15. No, he won't give you a flywheel figure. If you ask he'll just tell you to add 20% on (which is way too much really but hey-ho) The flywheel figure is the one most braggers use but it's bollocks really because nobody takes their engine out and actually measures the flywheel power they just guess it by adding a percentage to the measured rear wheel figure. RWHP is the one that actually matters anyway.
  16. Yes the rear wheels have to come off as Thor's is a hub Dyno. You'll just get a figure for the power at the hubs. Thor's dyno is well known for giving very high readings, so you'll have a nice figure for pub bragging.
  17. No worries. I think the problem was because the image was called bov.jpg and the forum software is set to parse (is that the right word?) words like "bov" into those annoying hyperlink things.

Yes, I was just trying to show off. You have found me out. Imagine how silly I feel right now. I see you found the CAPS LOCK key, well done. Would you like me to help you find the Shift Key and the Quote button?
  19. So these HDD ones you mentioned (of which I've never heard before, but I don't follow these things) record straight to their own hard disk (IDE?) and can be transferred to PC at fast-rate? If so, I might get interested in camcorders again! (Sorry if I've hi-jacked you thread mate)
  20. Don't rush into getting to Camcorder mate, you'll probably never use it after the first week. Getting DV off a CamCorder is such a pain in the arse at the moment most folks get bored of it real quick. I know I did. I've got hours of footage I've never seen since it was recorded. Borrow a cam of one of your mates (most guys have one they never use) or buy a cheapo one to play about with (eg a JVC for like £250) - unless you have more money than you know what to do with of course- oddly, most Supra owners don't

Yes mate, same thing - you're just slightly more subtle than me
