  1. It's bin day today. They only empty one bin each week and this week it's the recycle bin. This morning I noticed the bin still had some space in it, which is unusual for us. So I took the opportunity to get rid of an old ironing board and some left over UPVC from a window I fitted recently. The twats came about an hour ago but they've emptied everyone elses bin and left mine full! Can you not recycle steel and UPVC for some reason? Now I'm supposed to get 4 weeks rubbish for 4 people into one poxy little wheelie bin? Sod that, I'm gonna load it all in the Landrover and dump it on the council steps. Bunch of C*/\/TS [/rant]

  3. How did you achieve 3.2 Litres Alex? What size pistons? I presume it's got the standard stroke crank, right? Cheers

  7. I thought he'd have transferred his support to Chelsea by now. A lot of the plastic manyoo fans down here are doing that.

    Idle Vibration

Dude diagnosed my rough idling problem in 10 secs. The viscous fan had seized, it was being driven all the time (i.e. at tickover) and caused the engine to seem 'lumpy' at tickover speed. Replacing the viscous coupling with a used one (thanks Ibrar!) solved the problem instantly. (I skimmed a lot and didn't read every reply thoroughly, sorry if it's already been covered)

    question on weights

You know this is a MkIV Supra (2JZ/JZA80) forum, right? Try the Toyota Owners' Club forum mate. Edit to add: http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/
  12. Ah, I skipped all the Oooing and Ahhhing. Didn't notice that he'd added a link in another post. Cheers Gaz.
  13. I can't see an eBay seller with that exact user ID. There's 2 with similar names. Got a link? Cheers
  14. Really? I'd have the fezza over that Supe in a heartbeat
  15. Really I was just making sure that you were aware that you can't just bung them in with a resistor pack and expect them to work fine. I believe an SAFC2 should work alright as a minimum.
  16. What are you going to use to control/trim them Dave?
  17. A hub dyno makes no allowance for the weight of, and the other losses caused by, the wheels and tyres. You wouldn't think it would make a huge difference , right? Neither would I, but it seems to if you compare people's results. At the end of the day, any dyno (RR or Hub) can be adjusted by the operator to give inaccurate and flattering results. Giving inflated power figures is good for business - people like good news.
  18. Well, using my car's results and 24% drivetrain losses as an example: 300 rwhp (measured at Surrey Rolling Road) = 395 flywheel bhp allowing 24% drivetrain loss (24.0506329113924% if you want to be picky) We can calculate that the 350.5 rhhp (measured at Thor) = 395 flywheel allowing 11% drivetrain loss. (11.2658227848101%)
  19. You got 380rwhp on a rolling road, right? Not a hub dyno? 380rwhp = 500 flywheel if you allow 24% losses. That sounds fair enough to me mate. It's the folks that allow 20%-25% losses for a hub dyno that are kidding themselves, IMO.
  20. There would be. The Thor dyno is well known to be rather 'ego flattering'.
  21. Not 400 at the wheels, that would be very unlikely. My BPU auto makes 300rwhp on a RR and 350.5rhhp on a hub dyno. A manual TT should make a little more but not a huge difference. You can claim 400 flywheel from just 270rwhp if you like, just allow 33% losses. A lot of folk's flywheel bhp claims are unrealistic.
  22. Auto? Manual? Autos, usually between 290 and 310 at the wheels on a rolling road or between 350 and 400 on a hub dyno like Thor's.
  23. I'll take those when they're ready please
