  1. I like the "Dave bought some cheap fags" one. It cracks me up
  2. Yeah. I just said it better Not that I know of. That size would have a larger rolling radius than the TTs 255/40/17. Seems unlikely.
  3. 245/50/16 is wrong. On the rear of an NA the standard size is either 225/50/16 or 245/45/16 (both are standard sizes iirc) The 50 or 45 bit is the Aspect Ratio and represents the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width. This is why a wider tyre needs a lower aspect ratio sidewall - so that the over all height remains about the same.

    How many?

  5. Looks alright mate. What attracted you to that one in particular? http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/1854/7403bk1.th.jpg I see it has the usual poor colour match on the rear bumper that silver Supes often seem to have. Nothing to worry about there. Those wheels are a bit bling for my tastes. Check that they are the correct widths and also the tyre sizes are right. Some dealers are a bit sloppy about making sure the sizes are correct and just go for cheap as poss.
  6. N/As were available in 5sp and 6sp. The older ones are 5sp only. ps It would have been better to start a new thread for this question rather than drag this old one up - no offense like, just saying.
  7. Once the turbos and the injectors have been replaced it makes no odds whether it started life as a UK or J-car.
  8. Only what I read on SF when I was considering a budget single for my grey Supe. It was some time ago though TBH. I almost never visit SF since they introduced that ghey advert-hyperlink-in-posts thing. I do remember that one thread was written by the guy SupraDibbs bought his Garrett turbo from. He showed how to mod the XSP wastegates and everything. I don't recall the guy's name - sorry. Jammed open would maybe be an acceptable risk. OTOH jammed closed for as little as a few secs could be fatal for your engine. I think I would strip it down and check it out, just to be on the safe side.
  9. Easy, just take it to MkIVStore or Thor for dynoing.

Ah, I see your point mate. Hopefully a Mod will be along shortly to answer your question.
  11. Out of the box as it came from XS Pooer? Or has it been taken apart and re-engineered so that it doesn't jam shut like some of the other XSP ones have done? Edit, Blimey you boys are quick tonight!

Yes mate. 'Free Associate Membership' allows you to read the forum as much as you like. If you want to keep posting you must pay. I'm not quite clear why living outside the UK should exempt you from paying - could you elaborate a little? Anyway, I reckon you should pay double if you don't have to live in this shit-hole of a country. I'd swap places with you in a heartbeat
  13. Yeah, a couple of us have already pointed out that the "You've already been billed for £15 as soon as you call" is wrong but I wouldn't say that Beeb's article was incorrect. It says "the cost of the six-minute premium rate call to arrange delivery of the item works out at almost £10" which is about right at £1.50 per min.
  14. They both look nice but the non-VVTi gunmetal one is a bit over priced for an auto. The RSP one is VVTi and Tiptronic but is higher mileage. Both great colours though. I also like black too but it's so hard to keep clean. Gunmetal and RSP never really look dirty even when they are.

    Im now bpu'd

Take the restrictor plate out and see what boost you get then. Obviously, be carefull if it goes too high though.
  16. A boost controller can make the WG open later (higher pressure) but not earlier (at lower pressure than the WG spring)
  17. I'm not sure if you mean to be as aggressive as you seem or whether it's something that happens in translation. If it's the former you should lose the attitude. Otherwise you will quickly find your questions going unanswered.
  18. Thanks for reminding me why I don't usually read the newbie forum.

    red button

Hi mate Do a search for threads with Red Button in the subject. All will be revealed
  20. You still trying to get that wrong FCD working Jim? I give you 10/10 for persistance mate. Here's the ECU pin-outs - I don't think they'll help much though
  21. I for one am very proud of what our armed forces have achieved since 1939 and that my grandparents fought in WW2. I would gladly contribute to any remembrance fund that helps those who lost their health or life defending our freedom. However, I don't like being told what I should and shouldn't contribute to, or what I should be grateful for, or the self-canonisation of people for their career choice. Frankly I don't believe anyone that says they joined the forces or the Fire Service for the good of other people. I know they do good but let's be honest - you joined for yourself, right? At least, the guys I know did. Because they thought it would be cool or fun or interesting or macho or secure or whatever.
  22. Quote from ICSTIS: "It is not possible for a £15 charge to be made on connection. We also have a number of measures in place in our Code of Practice to ensure that consumers are protected from unexpectedly high charges. Calls and texts cost a maximum of £1.50 per minute." http://www.psni.police.uk/index/media_centre/press_releases/pg_press_releases_2006/pr_2006_april/pr_parcel_delievry_service_scam_070406.htm
