Start by checking the plugs. You say they're standard but you should be using colder than standard plugs at the boost levels you're talking about. I'd get a set of NGK BCPR7ES in there ASAFP. Should only cost you about £12 for set. About 0.85mm gap seems to work well.

(I haven't had a turbo timer for years and I've got a headache but IIRC...) some turbo timers have a wire that is connected to the "Handbrake On" signal. If the handbrake is released while the timer is keeping the car running it turns the engine off. I think it's an anti-theft feature.

Yeah. Well the engine still runs but the oil pressure is very low and it knocks. Apparently I should have changed the oil pump when I fitted the new pistons and bearings. I didn't know that was necessary though.

Apparently not. I've been trying but nobody wants me. I don't need three Supras anyway. One spare is enough for anyone. Yeah, mad innit?

It did go to another member apparently. It's off to MkIVStore for a new engine first though. The oil pump has gone on the engine that's in it It needs a bloody good polish too. Sitting around unused and ignored for months had made the paintwork very dull.
