  1. (PHR Stage One Kit with GT60 single turbo) I've been stripping the turbo side on my car to find the oil leak. I was going to take the whole turbo off so I can properly clean it all up and get the fire extinguisher powder off everything but I'm buggered if I can see how to get at the last 9/16ths nut that holds the turbo to the manifold. I've found the oil leak. It's leaking from where the oil return pipe joins the turbo body. The flexi hose screws up to an alloy part that is bolted to the underside of the centre housing - the leak is either coming from the hose joint or from the joint between that alloy part and the centre housing body. I was suprised to see that there was no gasket between the alloy piece and the centre housing. Is there supposed to be?

  3. Oi! That's 2 weeks Dole money to me!
  4. Just give us the hyperlinks to the threads in question. No need for you username and password.
  5. Take the headlight out - then what? There's nothing substantial enough to tow the car with behind the headlight, is there? I wonder if it's possible to tow it by the front engine hook. You'd probably need to remove the bonnet though.
  6. If that's true it is the best excuse for trolling I've ever heard. I'd be very interested to see the finished paper. Links to the other marque's forum threads would be amusing too. Good luck with the degree.

    Yo Yo Yo

Drop the stupid words like 'ERE', 'ur', 'wit' etc and you'll find we're a helpful bunch. You might need us in the future. If you're going to continue writing your posts in the style of a 13 year old girl's text messages most of us would prefer it if you slung your hook. AIGHT????!!!
  8. I've recently switched from 1meg DSL broadband to 4meg cable. But now I've found that I can get 2meg DSL for free from my satellite TV provider (Sky). I'm tied to a 12 month contract with my cable supplier - so I'll have both. To take advantage of both cable and DSL at the same time I'm told I need a 'load balancing router' - is that right? They seem kinda expensive at over £100
  9. Oh I see what you're saying. I wouldn't call an SAFC a piggyback ECU myself but I take your point.
  10. Would an SAFC2 not do the job instead of piggyback?

    had to laugh...

    I don't get it. What's funny?
  12. What? My head hurts from trying to make sense of that.
  13. I wouldn't waste your time on it Col. There's no way he'll sell it for less than he wanted. He'll just fuck you about a load more. Move on.
  14. Not with a 27,000cc engine though
  15. I'm sure I've got a spare dimmer switch in the garage Darren. You're welcome to it. PM me your address and I'll stick it in the post
  16. Never heard of it Did you mean PowerHouse Racing?
  17. I don't like the way you said "the first fire" Yeah it was mine that caught fire on the dyno. It was caused by the turbo oil return hose touching the exhaust manifold and melting through.
  18. That's not what the guy who owns Powerhouse Racing says: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=943331&highlight=anti%2A#post943331
  19. GVN if you want a great job and don't mind paying through the nose for it. Or there's Knight Racer next door to TurboFit. I've heard they make a nice job and don't pull your pants down price-wise.
  20. ('00 VVTi with PHR Stage One GT60 single turbo) My car smells of oil when hot and Scooter tells me there was some blue smoke from the exhaust when I lifted off the throttle as he was following me back from the Ace Cafe the other day. I've noticed that it's losing oil too. Looking under the bonnet when the engine is ticking over after a run there are some wisps of smoke rising from the turbo but I can't see a leak. As near as I can tell the smoke is coming from the centre housing somewhere below where the oil feed goes into the top of the turbo. (between the compressor and the turbine housings) I did a compression test on the engine last week and it was showing 145psi on each cylinder. I believe the compression is a little lower than stock because the engine has a 1.6mm head gasket fitted. I guess I need to take the turbo blanket off and see if I can work out where the smoke is coming from. The engine is too hot to do that at the moment though. Could the problem be the turbo seals?
