Day 8
The car has been dusted off before being rolled into the spray booth and is being masked ready for spraying. Before getting to this stage, green primer was rolled over the blended and repaired areas, then sprayed with a black witness coat which was rubbed down to remove any imperfections.

Note the apertures for indicator lights. These were not present in the kit and so had to be cut out, and fibreglass inserts made and bonded into the cutouts.

Now every inch of the surface is examined and any blemished removed before another coat of primer is applied. This may be repeated several times as required to eliminate any other imperfections.

After the final primer coat, the surface is then rubbed down with ultra-fine abrasive to ensure a glass smooth finish for the black base coat.

Try to work out how we got the car to levitate.
The door, boot and bonnet apertures were sprayed with the finish colour first. This is because the doors, bonnet and boot will be assembled before the final coats are applied to ensure an even colour over the entire surface of the car.
