Is it not in top gear at that speed and WOT then? If not you may want to fit a decent DSC. It sounds rather like the same problem the tiptronic auto Supras have with not staying in top gear at high speeds.

A new short block is around £1600 I believe. But it doesn't come with a head or any ancillaries though (oil pump, etc etc) and would still need stripping and checking really. It would sort out rebore and pistons issue but probably not save all much money. I have a spare standard (86mm bore) VVTi block and pistons with a knackered bottom end. Maybe John could make use of that somehow by fitting his crank into it. I'd be willing to donate it seeing as he's had so much bad luck. I also have a spare VVTi head but wouldn't want to give that away. They're like rocking horse sh!t.

Shame he's had the compressor outlet elbow welded the wrong way round for a Supra. It's too dear anyway, I can get one new much cheaper. I just want some advice about the best AR to go for. Thanks though.

How was it still making 110psi with two bent valves and a knackered piston? I mean, wouldn't bent exhaust valves fail to close properly and ensure zero compression?

I don't think he's ever said exactly what the kit cost. He's made comments along the lines of "Well the AbFlug kit in fibreglass costs £(some figure) so you can imagine what this carbon fibre one costs!!!!" when he's trying to mislead people into thinking that his knock-off copy cost more than a genuine AbFlug one. -
We're part way through season one. IIRC it took a break so as not to clash with bloody American Idol kinda. UseNeXT supplies access to usenet. They aren't the the one I use but yeah basically the same thing.

Still having no luck getting a turbo. Several suppliers have told me that Garrett are out of stock of the gt4088 at the mo. TDAutowerkes have offered me a 0.85 divided housing 4088R for $1799 but I presume I'd want about the same AR as the non-DDB 4088, about 1.06 or 1.19 divided - correct?
