  1. I've been driving my car for the first time in ages today. It's just had the GT4088 (0.96A/R) fitted since the PHR1 failed months ago. First impressions of the 4088 are very favourable. I like that it comes on boost a bit later than the GT60, which means that I'm not on boost every time I touch the throttle when cruising on the motorway. Hopefully this will make the MPG a little easier to bear. When it starts boosting it's quite linear at first but really takes off at about 4000rpm. I haven't had a good play yet and don't really know what it tops out at revs wise but I'm sure it's going to be a lot better than the asthmatic GT60, which was all done by 6krpm. Also, I dunno what's up with my SBCiD boost controller but with it set to 1.0bar the car is hitting 1.2 bar. Air leak on the EBC wastegate hose maybe? Anyway, very pleased so far.
  2. It's not the OD OFF light that flashes the error codes it's the yellow engine warning light. But yeah if you've removed the active spoiler but left its ECU connected I believe you will get the MIL light on permanently.

    Wohoo - New job!

    Engineers things politely, I guess.

    Quick question

Rich isn't claiming ATW though, he said at the hubs. There seems to be a bigger than expected difference between Thor's hub figure and any other Dyno's RWHP figures. I reckon Thor RHHP figures are about equal to calculated flywheel numbers on any other dyno.

    Nokia N95

What network is it on Maz? Or is it unlocked?
  6. Jake

    Quick question

Yes it is, but that's not how you workout drive drivetrain losses. You need to take the percentage from the flywheel figure rather than adding it to the wheel figure (or the hub figure as you're doing) 516.25 less 20% = 413 518.75 less 20% = 415 (I was using the 415rhhp figure, that you used to have in your Sig, when I worked it out earlier)

    Quick question

IF you allow 20% drivetrain losses from the flywheel to the HUBS then 413rhhp = 518.75 flywheel. Which is a nonsense figure on stock turbos and impossible for stock injectors.

    Quick question

When JohhnKonx says his made 480bhp he must mean at Thor.
  9. I was talking about SonicSoop (he's 6'10''). Is your name Mike too then? (or have I missed the point completely?)
  10. Betting tax: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/1437204.stm Mike is obviously not a big betting man? (just a big man)
  11. No Mike. All that went out with three spoke wheels raa-raa skirts.
  12. Can't you delay doing the stem seals until you go single? Taking the stokers off is a PITA anyway, putting them back on only to remove again later is madness! Anyway, stock Toyota head gasket and cam belt are great quality. I'd definitely stick with those.
  13. Yeah you're taking quite big risks sometimes. I lost £170 when Rossi didn't win the MotoGP last weekend. The worst I've had in single bet is losing £555.56p (exactly enough staked to win £200) when ManU lost 1-0 to Wolves back in 2004. I almost never bet on horses, they're too unpredictable for my liking. Football is the best because a lot of other folks seem to bet with their hearts rather than being realistic. I've made shitloads out of footy betting over the last few years. About the tax thing, betting tax was abolished years ago. I guess you'd have to pay income tax if you were earning a significant amount. (I wish)
  14. They were up and down all the time during the match depending on how it was going. At one time Jenkins was 5/1 but later he was 28/1
  15. Where's the eBay link? I can't see it.
  16. Well no, they were 1/7 (seven to one ON). As my best mate says: "You've got to speculate to lose"
  17. It's all over now. Jenkins got thrashed 16-6 (or something like that) so my money is safe. Taking largish bets at short odds isn't necessarily foolish. The bookies do it every day.
  18. It's probably overheating Paul. See if the HSF or PSU are clogged with dust. You may well find that blowing all the dust out works wonders. (heatsink and fan, power supply)
