We took on a guy as a unix tech, who was the dimmest person I've ever worked with. (And I've worked in scrapyards and B&Q). Apparently the guy had got the highest score ever on his pre-interview technical test (I suspect the 3 mobile phones he always carries might have helped in some way) When they placed him on my team I was 'surprised' to find out that he didn't seem to have ever used a computer before beyond surfing the net and checking his email. Honestly, the guy wasn't familiar with the terms 'Copy' or 'Paste'. He is currently pursuing other career opportunities. --- I know this is an old thread. I found it while searching for something else.

£60 to unplug one box and replace it with another? Both Sky+ and SkyHD have dual feeds from the dish. What's the £60 for? We have 2 HD boxes, HD is OK but I wouldn't pay more than £10/month for it. If they put the price up next year I'll just cancel it.

Yeah, I spend a big part of my work days on Solaris and AIX. I like that it's not idiot proof (by a long way), if it was easy they wouldn't need folks like us. I'd be interested to try OSX on PC though. I'll look into it. Cheers

Interesting, thanks. Sounds like a great setup. Must've cost a bomb though. I've always avoided Macs because the (few) Mac-users I know are all horrendous fanboys - well, that and you have to pay for the software.

I had to do something like that to get the osf disk off my M3 when I was fitting the AP Racing BBK. The allen hex recessed alloy screw that secures the disk to the hub was rounded off, tried drilling a hole in it and then using an EZ-Out but managed to snap that off in the hole I'd drilled. Ended up cutting the disk off with a angle grinder. I felt a right cowboy taking an angle grinder to my nice car.

I think Stevie's question has been answered, so hopefully he won't mind if I now hijack his thread a bit ... I'm wondering why you are using 32bit XP anyway? Tell me a bit more about your setup please. You're dual booting OSX and XP? On an Intel Mac I presume? I didn't know they could do that. Makes sense I suppose.

Nah, that's not right. 32bit Win Server 03 can use way more than 4GB, up to 128gig depending on the exact version of the OS and which service packs are installed. I hear OSX can handle >4gb too, apparently.

32bit XP can't but some other 32bit operating systems can.

Not those. I can understand a reason for all those not being there. It's the support for the top Rad hose I was thinking of. Probably only a VVTi owner would notice it's missing though.

Looks very well executed. Great to see a VVTi big single given the full treatment. I notice a missing (stock) part and can't figure a reason for it not to be there. Can anyone else spot it?
