  1. Huh? You've lost me mate. - - - - - - Edit Oh you mean my Custom User Text? ?
  2. I would call her for you but it'd be midnight before I got off the phone again and us working boys need our beddy-byes.
  3. Kimi Massa Hamilton I'm looking forward to seeing Hamilton charge through the field.

What is it? I can;t really tell from the photos. I can see it's some kind of Ford thing. Have they started making decent cars yet?
  7. As Doug said, HIDs are supposed to run a lot cooler than regular incandescent bulbs.
  8. Yeah he's fine now thanks.
  9. It's good fun messing about with it but it's bloody annoying when you can't figure out what settings it needs. As far as I can make out, the ECU gets sent just under 5v when the AC is supposed to be off and a little over 0v when it supposed to be working (A/C clutch engaged) ...but what it's supposed to do with that I still don't understand.
  10. It bloody is mate. The really annoying thing is that I've already paid Tuning Japanese to make the AC work through the Motec, which they did, but they wouldn't tell me the password to the ECU, so when Dan wiped the shitty Tuning Japanese map off we lost the AC settings too. Touche Matt
  11. Changed Aux Out3 from '4'(Tacho) to '104'(Air Conditioner Clutch)
  12. YES!!! It's working. Well, kinda. It turns the AC clutch on and runs the AirCon nice and cold, the only problem now is that when I run the AirCon off the clutch doesn't seem to disengage
  13. Right, I've looked at the wiring plug into the Motec and found that only the pins for Aux 1, Aux 2 and Aux 3 actually have a metal contact in the wiring plug. So all the other Aux outputs (Aux 4 to 8) cannot possibly work the AirCon. Aux 1 is currently assigned to "Tacho" in the Motec software Aux 2 is assigned to "Fuel Pump" Aux 3 is also assigned to "Tacho" So I'm guessing I need to change one of the outputs currently assigned to Tacho to work the AirCon
  14. Yeah but I'm trying to figure out why the hot start isn't very good.
  15. The hot start on my car isn't very good. Typically it turns over for 2 to 3 seconds before the engine fires up. Ryan did have a play about with the startup AFRs but it didn't make much difference regardless of whether he leaned it off or richened it up. I've been reading this article on the Motec web site which suggests that an injector timing of about 275 degress BTDC generally works well. Looking at the settings in my map the Inj Timing seems to be set around 373 to 400 DBTDC. (Screenshot attached below) Would it safe for me to knob about with this? I presume I only need to change the values for 0 and 500 RPM - is that right? Thanks
  16. Simon, When your AirCon is switched on (A/C light on heater controls illuminated) and the engine is ticking over does the centre park of the AirCon compressor pulley rotate together with the out ring of the pulley? I'm presuming that's how I will be able to tell when I've finally got this working. Thanks mate
  17. What a bloody pain in the arse!!! When I view the Raw Input Values it shows 4.99v on AT3 with the AirCon off and this drops to 0.09v when the AirCon is turned on. So that confirms that it's Digital Input - Sw In 3 (AT3) that is connected as the Input - right? So I've set Sw In 3 to : Function: 5 (Air Conditioner Request) Parameter: Logic Polarity=1 Source 0 Channel 1 Lo Level 5.0v Hi Level 6.0v (Are those right?) Also I've set Aux Output4 to Function: 104 (Air Conditioner Clutch) On Throttle Pos 70 Off Throttle Pos 74 On RPM 5500 Off RPM 5800 Recover Time 2 Polarity 2 Output mode 0 but it's still not making the AirCon clutch engage.
  18. So on the Digital Input you have it set for Logic Polarity =1 but on the Aux Output it's set to Polarity 0 ?
  19. Still trying to get my air con working through the Motec m600. It was working fine before Dan wiped the old map from the Motec and installed his own one, so I know it's wired up correctly - I just need to get the software settings right. I hoping SimonB Or Ryan G or someone can help. In the Motec ECU Manager. Go to Adjust, Digital Input Functions, and in the submenu there are four possible Dig In choices and six Sw In choices. http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/9499/untitled1np3.th.jpg Anyone know which type I need to select? Does it matter which one I select? (can I just choose any one I like or must I get the correct one?) What if I set them all to number 5 ("Air Conditioner Request")
  20. Oh that! I remember now. Cheers
  21. What's this scroll thing then? It's been a while since I used Vista.
  22. It'll come in handy in future. Good luck. Gimme a shout if you get stuck with anything.

    How Do

It is when the newbie is quite as deluded as this fella! The famous MPG improving bonnet scoop, eh? I've never heard such tosh!
