    Because the auto box is for an old man's car. The 6sp is more of a driver's car. It's a well known fact that the ability to press a clutch pedal and move the gear lever makes you more of man and proves that you are superior to mere auto drivers.
  2. Not that a slight ballooning would make the slightest difference to the running of the car.

    Ordered a taxi

    I know what you mean, they're so unreliable it's pathetic. One company left me standing in the rain for half an hour before admitting that it wasn't actually coming at all. After that I started ringing three taxis at a time and just taking the first one that turns up.

    hi well i would start by going to the the mkiv supra owners club main section and then going into the general section and then into the club news and membership forum in there is stickied thread with the title club membership details including trader and hobbyist membership rules which has all the instructions you will need to be able to join this fine club youre welcome

    Crankwalk

    We modify out cars a bit here too, but we don't have crankwalk problems (touch wood). Has ANYONE over here had crankwalk? I've not heard of it. As I understand it, they (the merkins) consider it almost a common problem. So what's the difference? I mean, it's not solely a problem on the quad digit dyno queens and the 3sec drag cars, they get it with their average daily driver 900hp commuting Supras too. Sorry, I was lapsing into sarcasm there... but what could the difference be? Could it be as simple as the fact that in the US they have to declutch when stating the car, or something like that?

  13. 520bhp? That would be a UK record on stock based turbos, wouldn't it? Excuse my ignorance Brian but is your car a manual or auto? I know Justin has a hi-stall TC in his auto and I'm convinced it's that part, not the hybrids, which makes the biggest difference in drag racing a Supe. I'm sure you remember MonkeyMark slashing his ¼ time just by fitted a hi-stall. He was in the elevens with an auto and hi-stall and that was with stock injectors, stock ECU and not even a boost controller.
  14. I think you're right, there isn't a way to repair/recon ceramics. Replacement with new (expensive) or used (risky) are the only options if you want to keep the faster spool and extra torque you get with the ceramics. Still, as long as people keep crashing TTs or going single we should have a supply of used ceramics. I guess it's better than nothing.
  15. You think? Have you not stripped the bottom end yet then? Do you know what caused the spun bearing? Are you running a raised rev limit? It's not the sort of job you'd want to have to do again mate
  16. True, but I don't believe the bad rep ceramics get from some people. UKs are just as likely to fail if over-boosted and both are very reliable at stock boost levels. I've seen/heard of many recently fitted hybrids failing though.
  17. Like Darren, I wouldn't do it. If you've blown you stock turbos I would either get some more j-spec ceramics or, funds allowing, go small single. Replacing good stockers for hybrids/UK turbos is not a good upgrade plan in my opinion.

    Holy Shit! Fair do's mate, that some real graft you've done there. I had to move less than a ton of soil from the front of my house to my back garden and it nearly killed me.
  19. Sorry but I hate white Supras. It's my 2nd most disliked colour after that murky Storm Blue. I might have been made a Supra racist by the white VVTi Tip I used to have (before your time Sonny;)). That bloody thing was jinxed. The previous owner before me lost many thousands on it in only a few months (8k iirc), then I bought it for a 'bargain' price and lost another 4-5k on it. Besides which they're always dirty and I got bored of people saying "Nice car. Shame it's white". I try not to bear a grudge in life but I make an exception when it comes to white fucking Supras
