  1. Any stored codes to give you a clue what the problem might be?
  2. So does that mean it's the same type as the stock clutch? That would make life simpler.
  3. Anyone know of a good guide for mopping paintwork? A good list of Do's and Don'ts would be better than nothing. Also, can anyone recommend a good 240v mopping/polishing tool? Say up to £100 max Cheers
  4. Seems that my gearbox is leaking a little fluid from the rear seal, where the propshaft connects to the box. Is it likely to just need the seal replacing or could the problem be something more serious? Is replacing this seal a DIYable job? Can the seal be changed OK with the box in situ? Any special tools required? Thanks
  5. I've been talking about doing this for months but have never got round to actually doing it. I want to get rid of my OSGiken clutch and flywheel and convert it back to the stock flywheel and a stronger than stock clutch. The problem is that that, if I understand it correctly, the stock clutch is a pull type and the OSGiken is a push type (or vice versa, I forget) so I presume it's not as simple as just replacing the clutch and flywheel. Can anyone help me with identifying what parts I'd need to achieve this? Thanks

How have they changed? I'm pretty sure there's a lot less child abuse/murder/whatever nowadays than there was a few decades ago. Interesting point. I suppose vanity isn't a crime though.
  7. Why wouldn't you just drain the tank though? It's a simple enough job and avoids the possible risk and the having to drive Miss Daisy for next 300 miles.
  8. Well besides the possible damage it could cause, 'cos it'll smoke like the ace of spades.
  9. You need to get a tank fitted of some sort because the rad sucks coolant back into the rad from the expansion tank as it cools. Either relocate the existing one or get a smaller one from a Corolla or somesuch.
  10. I wouldn't do that. I'd drain the tank Ben. Either from the fuel filter connection or by taking the cover off the tank and lifting out the pump hanger and then syphoning the fuel out.
  11. Some NAs have it, not many though. Shouldn't you be working?
  12. I think the OEM plugs were Iridium too, weren't they? Mind you, you can't trust some garages to have actually fitted what they charged you for. Why don't you just bung a £10 set of coppers in there and see if it helps?
  13. Depends how bad they are. Do you know waht plugs are in there at the moment? Iridiums will usually last a lot longer than 10k, coppers OTOH need changing frequently - I swap mine every 5000 miles.
  14. It's not your fuel filter. You've probably just got used to the power so it doesn't feel so fast anymore.
  15. Got in from work at 8. Had me dinner and am now waiting the Mrs to get ready so we can go to the pub. Should just about make it for Last Orders if she's pulls her finger out.

I don't buy it that it was the parents what dunnit - because of the great big fuss they've made out of the whole thing. I know if I'd bumped someone off I wouldn't be trying to keep it alive in the media and the public eye. These aren't a couple of idiots. They're professional, intelligent people. I'm pretty sure that if they were guilty they'd have thought it through as to the best way to get away with it, and making a huge media circus of the whole affair certainly isn't that.
  17. I think a 6'2'' lard-arse like me would look a bit silly in a little car like the MR2 though.
  18. Easy, just keep an eye out on eBay for a second hand trebuchet.
  19. I like this one. Moving house isn't an option either. So the blue one is a lower spec then? To me, there's no point getting a Scooby if it's a slow one. They're butt ugly and tinny but the two I've been in were both quite quick (almost j-spec BPU quick i would estimate).
  20. Hmmm, that does seem a very biased piece. It wasn't from JohnA's web site was it? It has that JohnA ring to it. (The unnecessary use of the word 'molecules', for example)
  21. I don't want to put a bazillion miles on my Supra but I can't decide what car to get for commuting. If I go to work on the motorway it's about 55 miles each way. If I go the twisty A-road/B-road route it's only 35 miles. The A-road way is lots more fun but sometimes I just want to get there, you know? Either route takes about the same time and strangely the motorway route uses less fuel. Anyway, I've been thinking about maybe an Impreza. I don't know much about them though. This one looks OK : http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/232855.htm but it doesn't say anything about being a WRX or STi. Does that mean it's a lower spec one? I don't want to buy one and then have everyone tell me it's Impreza equivalent to the lardy UK Spec or NA or whatever. What about this one : http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/193050.htm ? I like the colour but the car looks a bit rough in a few places. (http://www.japmetal.co.uk/blksubaru/) Any thoughts?
