  1. Affray is a crime of violence. People who commit crimes are criminals. The guy has a conviction for affray. Therefore he is a convicted violent criminal. Surely if somebody has a criminal conviction it's fair to describe them as a criminal. It doesn't hinge upon whether they have received a custodial sentence. It seems to be an accurate label to me. It doesn't sound like affray to me because it doesn't involve violence, from your description anyway.
  2. Could he have avoided being in possession? Yes, easily. He's not some blushing virgin who's never had any dealings with the police. The guy is a convicted violent criminal who is not unknown to carry a weapon. Depite this, when he 'found' a sawn-off shotgun did he decide to not touch it with a bargepole and to just call 999? No. Instead, he took it home. He then kept it for a few days before eventually deciding to give it to a cop he knows. He didn't invite the cop to his house, he arranged to meet him elsewhere and took the sawn-off out in public again. Is there some reason the guy likes walking around tooled up? Having already been done for it once, he doesn't seem to have gone out of his way to avoid it again. If nothing else, the guy is a complete spanner. At best he got himself nicked through his naivety.
  3. "The amnesty"? What amnesty? I see no mention of an amnesty in the BBC article.
  4. Yes. Why shouldn't they, if they're in possession of a firearm they aren't licensed to hold? If he thinks the local police have a grudge against him he could have taken it to another station or gotten somebody else to hand it in.
  5. By not keeping it for several days before handing it in. The public have nothing to fear if they hand in weapons they find rather than taking them home for a few days first. Wow. You're retarded. Swans aren't generally the Queen's, by the way. It's a popular misconception.
  6. Seems fair enough to me. For several days he was in possession of a swan-off, he surely didnt think it was legal to do so. He's only got a suspended sentence, so if he doesnt break the law again he's got nothing to worry about.
  7. You liked that? I thought it was ridiculous. Started off promisingly but went downhill badly once all the high tech stuff came into it. SPOILER FOLLOWS >>---> How did he manage to break into a solitary confinement cell and fit it out with a concealed door without anyone noticing?
  8. Why were you pulling the handbrake on towards the end of that straight? I noticed you do it a couple of different times.
  9. My mate did it with a car he couldn't quite afford and the dealer was a bit of a cock. In the end he got the car for a lot less than his original offer. Mind you he took a lot of stuff off the car, even the rear window. This wasn't on a Supra BTW.
  10. Although you wouldn't be allowed name a company that had screwed you over on PH. I realise that the seller probably wouldn't know that though.
  11. Get down there tonight and steal lots of expensive to replace parts off it. Take them home with you. When the new buyer decides he doesn't want it now, the seller will most likely contact you asking if you still want it - for a much reduced price, of course. Take the car home, fit the missing parts.
  12. Not if you had to get her permission. Whay do you mean? How late is GT5 now? I mean, what was its original release date supposed to be? Must be years now. People won't wait forever.
  13. As an aside, Microsoft make all their OS Service Packs freely downloadable from their own website. No need to go to a torrent for them. That's not what he meant. He was talking about an XP install disk that has got SP3 slipstreamed into it.
  14. Full warantee? Do Microsoft give customers a brand new full warantee when they replace an old broken XBox? Hmmm, mine might have to have a little accident!
  15. Leave him alone Michael you Net Ninja. He obviously only got internet access recently. Adnan is right, it was the funniest video I saw all year. Not this year though.

    M3 insurance?

Blimey, is this thread still going! I've still got my M3. It still seems to be costing me for something every month. So far... 2x Rear tyres ......................... £530 Oil and filter Service ................ £205 New alternator + Broken spring + Worn out front wishbone + Rear trailing arm bushes + Mot ................................... £1389 (inc £60 to fix blown number plate bulb!) Inspection II service at Main Dealer ...................... £850 Set of stock wheels (used) ..... £500 AP brake upgrade.................. £1900 Refurb/Powder coat wheels ..... £300 Stock rear brakes .................. £350 Retrofit stock Nav/TV gear....... £300 (not fitted) More tyres last month ............ £500 A lot of the above aren't things I had to buy. I could've saved some money by sticking with the standard brakes (although they are quite poor) and not bothering with the OEM Sat Nav (which is rubbish anyway, to be honest). The servicing cost isn't all that bad really. OK, it's ~£200 for an oil service but then it doesn't need servicing again for 12,500-15,000 miles. The Inspection I or II services are only every 25-30k miles. Plenty of you guys on here spend similar amounts running a Supra.
  17. So if you modify a jap import Supra so that it can't be fitted with a standard sized number plate you can legally fit a smaller one? And if you do the same to a UK Supra, then what? Is it legal or illegal? Yours.
  18. So it overhangs a couple of inches? I dont see how that stops it being fitted. Why would a number plate have to be supported at the very ends? Lots of them aren't. Many brand new bikes have rear plates fitted that over hang and arent bolted at the outer edges. Seems like there's a lot of wishful thinking in this thread to me.
  19. It can't possibly run the fans when its switched off. You must mean when its in Standby. Is it a new box? On older boxes the fans can get noisy as the bearings get clogged up with dust. I cleaned out the bearings on my noisy Sky+ box with aerosol brake cleaner. It worked pretty well for a few weeks but eventually became noisy again, gradually. You could always power it off to stop it waking you.
