I've just worked a "12 hour" nightshift in Basingstoke. I've never seen traffic congestion like it. All the roundabouts around Basingstoke were almost totally gridlocked.
My journey to work from near Portsmouth to Basingstoke usually takes me ~45 mins. Today (well last night, still feels like the same day to me) it took me 5½ bloody hours.
OK, so it had been snowing a bit - big deal. Drive accordingly FFS - that doesnt mean drive at 3 mph on the M3 motorway, you knobheads.
Honestly, I reckon I could've got to work in 1½ hours, rather than 5½, if people drove sensibly, rather than just going everywhere in first gear.
My drive in is basically 30 miles west towards Southampton then 25 miles north to Basingstoke - this took me 5½ hours. My colleague who lives in Southampton took 6 hours to get to work ... in a Shogun !
