  1. My Supra has been hard to live with in many ways since I've owned it (engine detonated recently). Recently it took me three months to get the right pads to fit my car and I had to stop driving it completely because I had no brakes! I bought a JDM pair didn't fit, UK spec didn't fit and every brake specialist I went to had no idea. The car came over from Japan with 4 pot Brembos, nothing fancy, seen them a million times right? Well after 4 different garages and endlessly getting no where I sent a picture and measurements to EPC and BANG, they found some that fitted. Great I thought but when the packet arrived I got a bit of a shock (see attached). Now where the hell did this Jap owner get these! I found it amusing, overs may not.
  2. Image one - Healthy compression test Image two - Cylinder 1 compression test, which has nothing. Image three - Picture of plug from no1 cylinder (right) and plug from no4 cylinder (left). no1 cylinder has completely shattered the plug and no4 cylinder has started breaking down the plug. The diagnostic company said this shows detonation across all/most cylinders. Spent £1000s on this car in 10 months of ownership and now this. FFS I'm buying a Prius! 1.pdf 2.pdf 3.pdf
  3. I knew these queries would come. New NGK plugs from Whifbitz about 6 months ago (heat range 7). Restrictor ring fitted by Whifbitz when I had full decat. Believe me I made sure I had every component I needed before I ran 1.2 bar. Clearly something was up, ahhh, where's my beer!
  4. Some one kill me please. Engine detonation, number one cylinder and piston fried. Is there a support number for how I'm feeling at the moment? #devastated. Everyone's speculation to why this has happened, when I have full bpu upgrades, would be appreciated. Also price to repair? JamieP want some business? That's if I don't kill my self before hand! Pictures and report from diagnostic company to follow.
  5. Ye I guess that could be right, just blew another hose in a different and more vital location (hence different affects). I might be able to sleep tonight with this in mind. Thanks guys. Your opinions and experience are always well received.
  6. Hi lee, I'm the guy who bought the black do luck front bumper off you about 2 months ago. I've blew a pipe off before but this noise sounds well different this time, plus a shocking lack of power and funny afr readings. However, I had started running 1.2 bar again and gunning it before this happend. I pray you are right mate or I could be coming down for a rebuild
  7. I just got my boost controller fixed (faulty boost solenoid) and was set up by Darren at whifbitz. All was well on the journey home, set the controller to run 1.2bar. Checked all six gears and everything was boosting fine. After showing a 5series bmw how it's done on the way home, I backed off and starting cruz'n. Got to the next round about and as I come off the roundabout I had no power, it felt like limp mode. No positive boost pressure at all and the car felt very lumpy when running. Got home and there is a rattle coming from underneath the engine. Also my wide band afr was reading 12.4 on idle. Normally it's 14.4 to 14.6. The fact that I had no power, boost and I was testing the cars limits for about 5-10 mins leads me to think bottom end failure. Anyone had this? Everyone's speculation would be appreciated before I take it to my local tuner. So hacked off, 3 month running stock boost and I finallly start running 1.2bar again and now this! #wounded
  8. The other thing to bear in mind is, going big single and doing it properly can be a lot of money. And then you hit the brick wall that is autobox reliability at 500hp. You'll be wanting to get a built autobox to cope with it. I've got a brand new 6 speed getrag from Titan so not a problem. Plus a twin plate clutch
  9. lol I just want to annoy BMW and Audi drivers. They think their cars are the best on road, which clearly gives them the right to tail gate everyone.
  10. lol I can't believe I didn't realise that! Ye makes complete sense. Again, I want above 500hp so single it is
  11. How did you avoid the high intake temps on the stock sequential set up? I was under the impression that 1.3 bar is the maximum the stock sequential system can take.
  12. Ye but I enjoy the turbo starting earlier so I can get a whistle and dump at low revs (lol I'm a big kid). Plus I haven't got to rev the car hard to get some performance, I had enough of that with my old 2002 Civic Type R! Small single it is then
  13. On boost by 2.2k revs? I can live with that! I'm getting Syvecs soon so single conversion it is then! You can really see the difference in the power curve. The sequential set up clearly shows the 1st turbo changing over to the 2nd turbo with higher boost. On the single set up once you hit boost it's a continuous rise until peak power, cool.
  14. Ye I understand. The only reason I wanted to keep the sequential system is so I get turbo pick up from 2k revs onwards. I was under impression that the single set up comes on boost at around 4k revs? Which means I've got to rev it hard to get boost!
  15. TBH I'd rather save my money as it seems pointless to install hybrids for 0.1 bar extra. Is a single turbo my only option for 500hp+ then? or is there a way to retain the sequential set up?
  16. Hi I've been searching for ages now and I can't find a definative answer. Will uk spec 550 injectors drop straight into my JDM TT6 and can I then run hybrid turbos at around 1.5 bar with a stock ECU? I'm already full BPU FYI. I'm reading various opinions online and hoped someone had some first hand experience.
  17. Hi Ye fully understand about members getting priority. Just waiting for my friend to confirm he's coming and then I'll sort the tickets out. Cheers
  18. The bracket/frame is angled on the passenger seat but not on the driver seat. As mentioned the passsenger side is more prone to being bent out of shape because the braket/frame is angled.
  19. Please forgive my ignorance as I've never been to anything like this (new owner). Do we park our cars on a designated stand/area? Can I bring a friend who is driving and park his 700hp Skyline in our area? Sorry to ask.
  20. Basically the passenger side just wouldn't line up no matter which order I put the bolts in or whether the seat was tilted or reclined. In the end I broke out the elbow grease and forced it to line up and had to cross thread one bolt because it would go in straight.
  21. Ye I'd go with that as the passenger side has subframes which are angled, not flat like the driver side. What a nightmare though, 20mins on driver side and 1.5 hours on the passenger side!
  22. Hi Just looking for a bit of feedback. I fitted some leather seats in my 1997 Supra on the weekend. The driver side went in fine but passenger was a pain in the a-se. The leather seats I bought are OEM so I assumed they would just drop in. In the end I had to cross thread one bolt on the passenger side to get it in. The cross thread hasn't affected its securement, it's well in there and probably will never come out again! lol. I thought all OEM seats were the same but I guess it will vary slightly from model to model. Anyone else had this?
  23. Sorry not been on here for a while. Have i missed the offer, if not how are we making payment? Steve?
