  1. Well I had piston damage so re-bore with oversized 3.1 mahl pistons. Fully forged bottom end what ever that consists of. Newly refurbished head with new valves e.c.t. I'm only running full bpu with an apexi fc power ecu. Single turbo is going have to wait for big power, I'm a bit skint after spending 8k+ on this rebuild lol.
  2. Hi, I'm hopefully getting my car back next after waiting 4 months for Whifbitz to rebuild my engine. Paul has recommended rural and town driving conditions to cover the initial 300 miles during run in. I was wondering if anyone else had any recommendations on the subject so I give my newly rebuilt engine the best possible chance of a strong and long life?
  3. That's a shame, I was hoping one of these kits would make the changes less notchy (1st and 2nd mainly) and more accurate. Thanks for the link, I'll give it a look. Anyone else with experiences?
  4. Hi, I'm looking to get a quick shift kit for my 6 speed but all I can find are some dodgy looking kits on Ebay. Anyone got any recommendations? Ebay, TRD or anything really.
  5. Don't say that, she's not dead, she's just having some surgery.
  6. Darren at Whifbitz said mid 11's is ok. To be fair the AFR's hardly changed from stock boost to 1.2 bar. It's got to be a fueling issue, pump, injectors, pressure regulator, it was just an instant failure. It's off to Whifbitz soon for a rebuild, I'll confirm what the issue was once Darren has the engine open. Not looking forward to the bills coming my way
  7. I may of paid nearly £200 for front only yellow stuff pads but I have 10 years experience of EBC so I'm happy. Plus EBC where the only company who confirmed what pads I actually needed. Hindsight, should of come on here sooner.
  8. I paid the best part of £200 for the front Yellow Stuff. How much are yours out of curiosity?

Whifbitz are a lot closer than SRD. It's a tough one.
  10. It's a good point guys. Yellow stuff have only proven to be better than what I originally had. I'll try other brands next but I've always been happy with EBC on every car I've ever had.

Who is Chris Wilson? I can't find about much on him on Google. Where's he based? It wouldn't hurt speaking to another tuner.
  14. Chaps the pads I got where yellow stuff (see pic), much better than red stuff. Before my engine blew I was very impressed with them, especially when breaking at high speed with no fade. However I don't do track days but yellow stuff is for track use anyway. They take a while to heat up but they have excellent friction.

    Thanks guys keep them coming
  16. Hi my engine blew recently (suspect dodgy injector) and I'm looking into getting a rebuild. Anyone ever used Whifbitz or SRD? What was your experience like and were you happy with the rebuild? Any negative feedback, feel free to pm me. They both seem like good company's but I just wanted people's experiences. O and if there is any other engine builder you know of please let me know.
  17. I see, I thought you may of had a similar experience and this is where you got yours. This is why I kept the box, always good for reference!
  18. Spark plugs where replaced 6 months ago before I went 1.2 bar. I guess crappy injectors could of been an issue. The guy who diagnosed the problems also said the coil pack are break apart and need replacing.
  19. Hi mate. Stock ECU just full BPU upgrades. I have a wide band AFR and I was hitting around 11.6 under maximum load. Then all of sudden, no bang, just complete drop in power, I was literally limping. Hat off to the car I guess, it got me home 30 miles after that. Still running but sounds like a tank, probably running on 3-4 cylinders. Poor thing
  20. How did you know this Joda? I paid £180 for them! Plus postage. I got mugged by the sounds of it. Love Ebay!
  21. Don't think so, they don't look brand new, good condition but they must be ten years old so I'm going with "they came off a Ferrari F50"
