Hey there, I know c's short shifter & fidanza are the best way to go. I just want to know if anyone out there have used this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ralco-RZ-Short-Shifter-93-98-Toyota-Supra-Twin-Turbo-JZA80-US-/271198886488?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f24b69a58 The cheap chinese ebays felt crap when i used it in my friends car, not all the gears felt right & apparently can snap. lol Solid shifter bushings are a must & also changing the transmission fluid i am aware. Keep it stock or give this a go?

anyone able to help?? would i also be better off while the gearbox is out to change the synchro just in case instead of installing a new clutch and then finding out the synchro is stuffed aswell?

any ideas?

update, drove it today when traveling slow speeds 30-40 kms in 4th gear shakes and rattles like fly wheel is smacking and hitting. but in 5th gear its fine at slow speeds drives like a golf LOL.
-
it hasnt been adjusted thats why i brought it to mechanics to get it done but didnt have time for it.But informed me it might need adjusting or replacement. I believe its the clutch but its weird to have 2 guys that know the things to say 2 different things too me. I'm just curious. think the rattling side of things is fine more about the clutch heavy feel(never felt a heavier clutch in my life) and getting into 3rd gear.

Curious as in why it makes so much noise and it feels heavy as fk compared to other supras with multi-plates that i have sat in. I've been told by my mechanic the clutch may be FUC#E$. While someone else i know that loves supras & installs clutches. Says its normal for a single plate with a lighten flywheel to have a heavy feel on a clutch & also the sound being normal.. What the clutch sounds like, -Rattling which i hope is the clutch(Jim berry, 3800 lbs clamp pressure). in neutral maybe flywheel rattle (chatter). -Car feels like its gonna break down stuttering, loud noises coming off 1st gear if not enganged slowly. -Engages fine, feel like the clutch needs to be adjusted as getting into 3rd gear is hard.. maybe synchro aswell but feel if i push all the way down it doesn't crunch but saying that its like me changing gears slowly which is probably synchros(hope not, but common i read) -doesn't slip holds power. 430kw single turbo - slowing down from 3rd to 2nd gear if speed not constant starts hopping abit. -Apparently normal for clunking into 2nd gear from 1st. on the V161 getrag. Tried to research and look for people with the same description but i haven't heard anyone's car like this exactly. I have a feeling it isnt installed properly but ever since Ive had the vehicle its been like that and no issue besides the sounds. Hasn't gotten louder or anything. Clutch Has less then 5000 kms on it thats for sure Input will be great thanks.

Hey guys , Was wondering what are the best quailty & price for a pair of bonnet dampers for JZA80? i found these, but i want something simialr to the picture ive attached. Brand names will help as i dont want to purchase somethings that gonna work for a few days or break down the track. Advice and personal experience on the bonnet dampers. will be highly appreciated. Can you purchase ones for another car and make your own brakets with the specified brackets? http://www.ebay.com/itm/310446864120?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/360566876303?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 thanks.

The bolt is alot worst than the picture that was like an hour mark i got over taking photos. We used stanley tools and proshop none of those crap cheap tools. Used 2 spanners to reinforce at one stage but it would move away. first the socket and ratchet wouldnt fit cause of size and postion of where the bolt was then my friend brought over his really awesome tools that you knew weere good and still have no luck it would fit but couldnt get to hold on the bolt and was just damaging it and also using the clamps and hammer just to loosen abit didnt help either. Tried to use smaller size spanners and wd-40 heat had no bloody luck. my friend & i just stood there frustrated and saying WTF is this soooo tight and even if it was rusted or whatever shouldn't be that hard. -

Hey guys, i got a friend to come help me and we both stressed together in frustration. i tried everything you guys mentioned expect taking the transmission out, of course that is gonna be a pain in the arse... Anyone know how much it would cost for a mechanic just to take the bolt out roughly??? with specialized tools or whatever is required to get it on a hoist and removing it. The thread is gonee now fkddd. we tried for like 3 hours to get this off with propane gun, crow links, clamps slight taps with hammer, sizel, it wont move at all!!. no matter how soft or hard you rotate the bolt anti clockwise the bolt would be shredded like its aluminum. My friend couldnt believe how tight this bolt was and doesnt understand why they would even tigthen it that hard let alone why its stuck. He had perviously worked as a toyota mechanic. I really thought it wouldnt be soo hard to do but i cant even open this fill plug!!! i bought all the tools required and all and its annoying the crap out of me. i was thinking of just lettting it be till i get my clutched changed or something cause now im wondering how they would do it. to remove the plug anyone know??? thanks -
Hey guys, Need advice and help trying to remove the fill plug out so i could change transmission fluid. Used this guide to assist. Bolt wont budge and i dont want to damage the thread anymore i thought i was moving it but in fact damaging!! i had everything set up but couldnt get that damn bolt off!!! http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?585966-Manual-transmission-Oil-drain-fill-*pics* Luckily i read to remove the top first i can't fit my ratchet in and also i tried using a 17mm c spanner which was a bad idea!! Am i doing something wrong. Thanks

Thats what i original thought when i first posted this issue. I had bought INTERMOTOR (Standard motor products group) brand new coolant temp sensor. It didnt seem to work and ecu was giving me readings like it was unplugged. I unplugged the coolant temp sensor to see what happens the ECU reads 120 degrees and flashes red and did the same once i replaced it with this. it was from ebay and not to sure the quality of it. I was contemplating getting a genuine one last time i check it was $120 AUD from toyota dealership. Is there also i way to check if the wire harness is putting out correct output and working correctly?? I purchased a multi meter and just want to know where the probs need to go and what figures i should be getting. I watched the coolant temp raise on the ECU manger starting at 40 degrees stopping at 80 in about 5 mintues. thanks.
