  1. ok guys this is a link to a auction by the same people everything but the turbo is identical in this auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/IS300-SC300-GS300-2JZ-GE-2JZGE-T4-Turbo-Kit-W-Turbonetics-Hurricane-7868-Benita-/170946857125?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27cd3a08a5&vxp=mtr hopefully u guys can tell by looking but i really need a cheap solution as its already costing me more than i anticipated to get it tuned
  2. hey Style the wastegate itself has already had the spring replaced, aparently the issue is that where the wastegate piping runs off the manifold because its almost going back the oposite direction of the gas flow it cant build up enought back pressure to flow to wastegate hence the reason for over boosting, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and whether they found a cheap fast solution to it?
  3. hi guys if your reading this im hoping you can help my plight, i have recently finished assebling my NA-T conversion and took it to the tuners to get a link installed and tuned, i thought all would be fine but it isnt. the tuners have come across the boost running away on the tune (overboosting) and they dont want to keep running it above 4500rpm in case something goes bang. my question is has anyone ever come across this issue? and if so how did you fix it??? aparently relocating the wastegate can fix the issue somewhat so that it draws more of the exhaust flow, however it is another cost which i really cant afford at this stage any help on this would be greatly appreciated fyi this is the kit i bought http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&view=all&item=200680024171&tid=896847711010&ssPageName=ADME:X:CPSCTOB:US:1123 thanks in adavance
  4. thanks guys ill keep these in mind i really like the rk tripple pod and the headliner one is prty nice too =)
  5. ok guys i have recently finished my NA-T conversion and aside from waiting for my new ecu to be installed all thats left to do is guages, unfortunately for me i cannot get a right hand drive A-pillar with pods on i have looked just about everywhere i can think of so i was going to get some gauge cups and run them down the side of the "cockpit" any suggestions on alternate locations etc? not a huge fan of the guages in the air vent holes etc cheers in advance something like this but less extreme only like 3 guages max https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSjCUGkAsBFwW2YvlRNB9NMo0CRp8T_JF-qj-5TtpHXGRO8ZTQO
  6. something like this maybe? http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/3711/i5gh.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  7. ok guys im thinking about getting my factory fabric seats re-upholstered however i have been unable to figure out how to remove the headrest part of the seat? any instructions or pics on this would be much appreciated =) cheers
  8. hi guys just wondering if anyone who has done a NA-T and run the factory head gasket can tell me how much boost is too much and what is a safe level? any help would be great thanks
  9. ok heres just a crazy idea for a cheap fix, i have no idea if it will work or not but what if u just replaced the factory 1bar map sensor with say a 2.5bar map and still ran the factory ge ecu? cus in theory the only thing that will change is the range of the map pressure? maybe but any input on this idea or if someone has tried it before would be helpful cheers
  10. ok guys cheers for the input im looking at going the link g4 way as no one in NZ seems to play with greedy... =(
  11. ok this may seem like a stupid question but i was thinking today the main reason they dont handle boost on the factory ecu is because the map sensor doesnt operate at anything more than atmospheric pressure right, so what if you changed the map sensor alone to say a 2.5bar unit and then tried to run it? my brother who is a mechanic has a $1000 afm unit for diagnostics etc on toyotas and it is reading at 15-16 fuel ratio when the turbo is spooling so in theory under boost it should be alright to a point??? purely a question map sensor as a cheap option to try first???
  12. anyone know anyone in the UK or somewhere that can sell me a base tuned emanage ecu? id rather just have a plug and play setup and if emanage has been used by quite a few people im sure a base tune has been set somewhere?
  13. yea Noz i just have the ge ecu currently i was reading up on a couple of sites and they said they could handle about 8psi of boost before they started giving issues but i guess that was wrong... ill look into a greedy emanage blue then and see how i go cheers guys
  14. ok well tonight i got the adjusties in and took it for its first drive, and it worked to a degree, it runs mint until the turbo spools right up and then the ecu packs a sad, any suggestions on what i can do? piggy back ecu? maybe a factory 2jzgte ecu possibly? any help would be appreciated cheers
  15. ok guys ive just finished my NA-T conversion and have taken it for its first drive, it runs fine until the turbo spools up then it packs a sad now im thinking either i can get a piggy back ecu for it or possibly if i can find one maybe a factory 2jzgte ecu? only aiming to run like 9psi max any suggestions? cheers
  16. today i also got a little suprise in the mail in the form of my adjustable suspension!! =) super excited http://imageshack.us/a/img690/5026/ftbx.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img834/9292/93wy.jpg pics later of them in the car, then im nearly finished =)
  17. to run off the turbo inlet? i dont have one but i could get one easy enough
  18. I have one here as it came with the kit i will see how i get on with the factory regulator first and see if i have any issues on first run if i do then ill put it on
  19. Cheers Noz, well yesterday i managed to get everything engine wise back together, and started it for the first time in 2 months. heres a few pics http://imageshack.us/a/img819/8584/k374.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img842/2966/wzpl.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img829/2065/cokl.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img197/6410/bs30.jpg there was a fe more plus a short video but they wont upload for some reason... will try again tonight WOOO Nearly Finished!! cheers guys
  20. ok guys so today i made a fair amount of progress on my build and it is all getting put back together, might be able to give it a start tomorrow hopefully =) heres some pics of whats been going on today intercooler piping coming from the turbo http://imageshack.us/a/img689/5862/uxvj.jpg intercooler piping running to the intercooler behind the sway bar http://imageshack.us/a/img543/9488/0ura.jpg Rocker covers have been painted and reinstalled with new gaskets http://imageshack.us/a/img43/2446/gt08.jpg and finally all the plastic covers are back on http://imageshack.us/a/img844/3922/jev8.jpg tomorrow will be spent tightening the last few bolt on the intake plenum, running the last on the intercooler piping to the plenum, priming the turbo and hopefully starting it =) will update again tomorrow
  21. Ok, so its been a little while since i updated this thread, today i finally pulled the bottom sump off (what a mission) and cleaned out any swarf from when i drilled my drain lines i also got my manifold bolted on (hopefully for the last time) and have gotten my wastegate plumbed into the downpipe (stupid NZ laws) this week i should be having my adjusties turn up and they will go in next weekend and then it will be on to mounting the intercooler and runing the piping for it, hopefully everything going to plan and i will be able to try starting it up next weekend hopefully =), sorry no pics this time around
  22. hey Rich i found out the size for you they are 1/8" NPT fittings, my oil feed line came with one already on the end of it so it just threaded right in hope this helps you =)
