  1. Just to provide some info I asked my local Toyota dealer how much the new centre caps were and was quoted 45 each. Can't remember if that was before or after tax though.
  2. Hi guys, At some point in previous ownership, the centre caps for my wheels went walkies. Does anyone have any that I could nab as I'm trying to restore her back to her former glory Thanks in advance!
  3. Hi guys, My fibreglass j-spec skirts have seen far better days so I'm looking for some OEM side skirts. Does anyone have any, or can I be pointed in the right direction please? Thanks in advance!
  4. I'll take one if it's still there. VVTI
  5. Agreed, glad to meet you all Congrats haha
  6. It's rammed here. Looks like we won't be able to park together lol
  7. Idle is fine and the noise goes away after ~10 mins of driving. It's only there when my foot is off the throttle too which is weird. I can spray some carb cleaner around the vacuum lines when I get the car back but like I said the mechanics reckon it's the TB or a gasket between it and the throttle cable, so it would be good to see if putting someone else's TB on helps at all before I dish out the money for a replacement.
  8. I checked the hoses and they all seem fine. Sounds exactly like this:
  9. Hi guys, I've been diagnosing a very high pitched whistle for the last couple of weeks While getting my new suspension geometry sorted the mechanics have confirmed that it's coming from the throttle body. I'm wondering if anyone has a mkiv VVTI that I can drive to and pop the throttle body on mine to verify that the noise is gone before I buy one. Happy to throw a few quid your way for your time or bring some beers with me Thanks in advance.
  10. I'll be attending with my partner then if that's ok
  11. Yo! What time are you going down?
  12. Hey guys, I've removed the serp belt and the noise is totally unchanged. I've been listening out for the noise and when it disappears etc and have the following updates: 1. The noise seems to be throttle position dependent - if my foot is only just on the throttle or completely off the throttle, it will make the noise. Anything past "only just on the throttle" and the noise disappears. This only applies when driving. When in neutral I can't remember how it behaves but it's not the same. 2. The noise disappears completely after driving for ~10 mins or so. It happens in every gear when in auto mode and tiptronic and doesn't change with speed. I think that's all the info I have but if I think of anything else or notice anything else I'll make sure I note it down. I've also cleaned the throttle body and it made no difference to the noise. I've ordered a new throttle body gasket cause it's cheap and easy to fit, but other than that does anyone else have any ideas? I've found this, does anyone have any thoughts? https://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?707873-High-pitched-whistle-noise-from-power-steering " It's the throttle body. My car is na-t running a FFIM so my throttle body is next to the powersteering pump. It's coming from the linkage for the butterfly. So where the cables connect to the throttle. " " Hi mate, are you still running the factory GE TB? I have read on multiple occasions about how the Q45 TB leaks around the butterfly shaft, and needs to have some remedial work done to it to avoid it leaking under boost. " The only difference is I can't hear it leaking under boost because I've got a fun air filter and exhaust
  13. Crazy... This morning it didn't make the noise. Will see how it is when I start it up to go home
  14. Took it out for a run down the road and I'm hitting 0.85ish BAR which seems right, it pulls the same too. So it happened when I was at low revs while driving (anywhere between idle and close to idle) then fades and eventually disappears higher up the rev range while driving. Now that I've taken it out I've been sitting at a petrol station for the last 5 mins and the noise is gone so it's possibly just on a cold start? I'll listen out tomorrow morning I guess... Thanks for the responses and advice
  15. Will do. Shorter belt. Do you spray carb cleaner or is there another way that you check them (if a visual inspection doesn't show anything obvious)?
  16. AC pulley has been removed, water pump has been replaced earlier this month before the car was sold to me and power steering seems to work ok and makes no difference to this noise. The only thing that seems to make a difference is it seems to go quieter with a few extra RPMs. Just started it up and tried a few different RPMs and it does very slightly change pitch but not much. - - - Updated - - -
  17. Hey guys, I've got an RZ-S that just decided this afternoon (driven this morning with no problems, but started up on the drive to move it and noticed this immediately) that it would make a high pitch noise while the engine was turned on and idling. It sounds pretty much exactly like this and I'm wondering if this is a common fault and if so, what the cause is? Thanks in advance
  18. Thanks for the replies guys, as always an abundance of information. I'm looking at Bob's Supra and he seems like he meticulously takes care of his car but as all of you have said I am under no false impressions of this being a cheap car to maintain. You've all made very good points.
  19. Cheers for the info Ric. That's the issue really, that it's quite subjective. The one I'm looking at looks like it's really been taken care of and had preventative maintenance done, but you can't prevent everything which is why I'm curious to see what multiple people have spent on theirs if you get me.
  20. Hi guys, Now that I've saved some money, I'm in the position to get a TT Supra. I'm having to give serious consideration to what this car is going to cost me in the long term so I'm wondering if I can get maintenance costs (including servicing) that you guys have spent on your supras over the last ~5 years (TT preferred, but if not please mention it). I'm trying to create a poll to make things easier but I'm on my phone and I don't see how to name each point so I'll put them below just in case... 1. 0-1000 2. 1000-2000 3. 2000-3000 4. 3000-4000 5. 4000+ Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any feedback received!
  21. UK because of the spec differences and because it's rarer. Good stuff, pretty much same places as my old celica then. Thanks very much!
  22. Yeah it was the same deal with my 93 celica, and that was an import... That's pretty much my train of thought too mate, it has full service history and two binders full of receipts and work so here's to hoping that's mostly preventative maintenance and other nice things! Swampy - just realised I didn't reply to your offer to come with.. I'm going to see it with a friend from work who used to own an import TT so it might be a little intimidating with 3 guys coming to look at it. I'll bear it in mind though, thanks!
  23. Yeah it's done a few miles unfortunately Well I won't put down a deposit until I've seen it in person for that exact reason pretty much. So rust underneath then, any particular place I should look out for or just in general? Big Supes - Thanks yeah I read through that, it was very informative. I'm printing it off and taking it with me. The only thing is it was made quite a while ago so I just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas other than what's on there or if there's anything on there that would be a red flag nowadays.
