I actually have replacement front callipers arriving today as I broke the bleed nipple off one. I will fit them and go for a blast see what happens. If still there i'll check the rears. Cheers!

Apologies I stated the noise isn't present when revving the car in neutral. It is only when accelerating in drive and not all the time, random occurrences.

Surely if it was something lose it would do it all the time though? As stated it's random, I can floor it one day with no issues, next day the noise turns up under normal driving.

Ok bit of an odd one to me. 1993 TT auto I’ve done a search and can’t find anything similar to this. When driving my car every now and then I get a strange knocking noise. This does not occur on every drive and seems to be random. The noise sounds like a knock (like something banging against the car) which gets faster the higher the revs go. I can ‘feel’ it when driving through the car. On most occasions the noise seems to start either, when accelerating coming off a roundabout or when I hit around 60-70mph but accelerating slightly harder than normal (but not flooring it). When the noise occurs it’s only on acceleration, if I take my foot off the accelerator it disappears. If I put the car in neutral and rev it I can’t hear it. If a park the car after hearing the noise, put it in park, turn it off and come back later. When I restart the car the noise is gone. The other day I drove 10 minutes up the road and the noise started. Parked it went to a shop came back and drove 30 minutes to where I was going with no noise at all. I am leaning towards an issue with the gearbox possibly? Thought I would ask on here as hoping someone has experienced it before, or may know of a similar issue. Please help  Thank you.
