  1. Right here is a very short video of how it sounds. However its not great, forgot to open the window and it was on my phone. Im going to find a quiet road somewhere where i can stop and do it properly. Road was only a 50mph zone so its very short video! http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss321/langers_2004/?action=view&current=2012-10-15141824.mp4 *EDIT* On youtube seems to work better:
  2. I got under my car with wire brushes and cleaned everything down. I then washed the underside, waited for it to dry then used compressed air to blow anything else off. Then coated everything using waxyol and a brush to get it on nice and thick. Im going to do the inner arches with a spray version for a better finish as this may be more visible. Waxyol is fantastic stuff, once you've used it too it is bomb proof, great product.
  3. It is but i know that parcel2go will send a parcel that size up to 15kg pretty cheaply?
  4. Yer i'm really pleased with it :-) It was £150 all in so a pretty good price. It is ever so slightly larger than the original toyota one. But the shape of the y section is smoother and the path the pipes follow have been shortened to reduce the distance to the backbox. Sounds fab. Does that mean your backbox may not be for sale?
  5. Yer, i was just about to pm you and ask if i could buy just your backbox. Here is the page with what i had made: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?276741-Project-N-A-First-Supra/page3
  6. Was this asked in reference to the exhaust i had made? Just wondering
  7. Ok thanks. I think ill avoid toyota as they quoted £430ish. I will try a few places and see what i can get.
  8. Spot on thanks. Stock as in from toyota or oem equivelant from somewhere else? Also what is a price range, £120ish?>
  9. Also im in need of a clutch kit just wondering what i should go for and prices please :-)
  10. I hope not I will go for a spin tomorrow and try and record something. Its a very very deep tone, but say for instance you are in 2nd at 4,000rpm and hoofed it, there is a tiny rasp for a split second then back to deep straight 6 sound again :-D
  11. Cheers, really chuffed with the work. Just got to get a spare n/a backbox now and clean my current one up!
  12. Well after ages trying to work out what exhaust to have i finally went with my original idea of custom making one. I could not pull my self away from being in love with the standard backbox so this had to stay! I also did not want a big can thing hanging from the back.... Basically from looking at the system i decided the best thing to do was take a 3" pipe from my 2nd decat and branch this into 2 pipes the same as the standard system. But have these bent in ss and completely ignore the originally fitted twin silencers. These then feed back to the original flange location of the exhaust. The performance gain is pretty extreme tbh, i wasnt expecting any gains but am very pleased indeed. The noise from the system is also incredible. Really brings out the tone of the straight 6 and at cruising speed is completely standard db. And its guaranteed for life from anything at all apart from me breaking it by going rallying or something! Anyway bit pic heavy but here you go:
  13. Have had an exhaust custom made today. Really chuffed with the results and glad i didnt go for the usual. Pics and that can be found in my project thread here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?276741-Project-N-A-First-Supra
  14. Border front, had one on my mr2. What did you do to catch rain under the vents in the end?
  15. Not heard of longlife before. I assume you dont get lifetime guarantees on mild steel like you do with ss.
  16. What are peoples opinions on having an exhaust made from mild steel rather than ss?!
  17. Just gave him a buzz. Going down tomorrow to see him, hopefully get something sorted. Have been given a pretty awesome quote already though. :-D Just deciding whether to go for mild steel or stainless.
  18. What was the cost from cat back if you don't mind me asking. Do u they have a website?
  19. Basically i would like to know who can and how much it would cost to make: An exhaust pipe that goes from my second decat and then connects to the standard backbox. Either by splitting into a y shape or two pipes just before the backbox, or by using a blanking plate on one backbox side and using a single pipe.
  20. Had this fitted today. Finally have gotten rid of the rattle that has been driving me insane the past few weeks. Cant believe how much of a difference it has made too. The tome of the exhaust has changed slightly but top end acceleration has much more poke to it!
  21. I just want to clarify something regarding the odometer in my car. The speedo only goes up to 110 or 120 so im assuming has just had the relevant fascia put on rather than a conversion. The digital odometer reads in km. I assume that the odometer reading in km is actually km as the dash speedo is the type it is. Also all the paperwork adds up gradually there isnt a sudden change.
  22. Couple of pics of the decat i got :-) Having it fitted by Rich tomorrow. Looks pretty nice for an ebay special.
  23. Also why are there standard exhausts that dont have the twin silencers? Ive seen one or two in photos. As ive gone for a 3" decat, how does this connect, will where it bolts to the standard exhaust back not be smaller or is it 3" as standard?
  24. Its not a performance upgrade im looking for, just a better sound and the fact that all of the pipe and heatshield is rattling to buggary under the car, which has been driving me insane. When i get a ss cat back system should i go for a 3" so that is matches the 2nd decat i have.
