  1. Ive had a scroll through the headlight refurbish post (although i cant find it again now.....) and have seen people spraying theres etc. The problem i have is i also seem to have surface rust on the chrome rings as well. So i cant paint the rest black for example with chromed rings left. What is the best way to refurb them from here? Are the plastic headlights dirt cheap to buy? Does chrome paint work? Any pics or advice would be great as they look quite bad now i cleaned the outside of the lenses properly.
  2. Going past cov? Want to drive down together?
  3. Can you not strap it to the roof?
  4. Ok well that measurement i gave is from another supra site, but they were wrapping there bonnet and complaining as it was the size i posted, yet the carbon roll came in sheets 10" thinner.
  5. Id rather take this home than buy that car...
  6. Just wondering who, if anyone is going to this from the Coventry/Birmingham direction?
  7. Do you want a lay-out type plan? As a cube apparently its 58" x 62"
  8. Ok thanks. I shall get some products and give it a go.
  9. Ive had a look through previous threads and there seems to be a lot of different views on whats the best way to clean the engine bay. Im looking at cleaning the engine and bay whilst the engine is in, i know it wont be perfect this way round but the engine wont be coming out for some time yet. The car is a n/a so there is a tad more space to clean rather than a tubby.
  10. Fitted the spark plug kit today that i got from a group buy. Crazy how something so small makes such a massive difference, really tidied things up more. Also fitted the new boot rubbers i bought from a member on here. Silence at last
  11. Completely standard suspension, all relatively new though. No tyre marks at all from where the spin in second was. So again guessing bad surface.
  12. No tyres are good like i said. Ive had a much bigger power car before same age and rear wheel drive. That i expected it to spin a lot. Going with the other guys theory something on the road that i didnt notice. Edit - Just saw your edit, i agree with you too!
  13. Previous owner changed the clutch
  14. (Or maybe i have an uber fast n/a ) A tentative joke, hence the surrender flag....
  15. No i have continentals on it, i know not the best but they are better than a lot of tyres. All up to pressure. Either way glad it was the road, means i know i should have the grip there next time :-D
  16. Cool thanks. It just surprised me a LOT! As i said wanted to check to make sure i watched it in the future. Or maybe i have an uber fast n/a
  17. I know i know. It must just have been a freak coincidence, maybe slightly low tread and the road condition. But i was just checking to see if it *should* happen for future safe driving.
  18. Nope it was wheel spin, the clutch is nearly new. It is a normal open diff, i think its called.
  19. Yer i know they dont have stacks of torque so i was expecting to just wizz down the road. I couldn't see anything, i turned around and came back the same way and the road seemed fine. I was more just curious whether i shouldn't push it that hard, say if i did get caught in one of those traffic light scenarios.
  20. Im not looking for a discussion on how fast my car is or anything like that but i was just looking for peoples experience if this is a normal reaction. I was out for a drive and was taking it quite leisurely. Anyway i came to a junction in the middle of nowhere and decided to give it the beans in a straight line as ive not pushed the Supra hard yet as i wanted to do the major service on her first. ok so i built the revs up and pulled away in first, took it nearly to red line about 600rpm below and changed into second. I then wheel span for ages in second and had to change into third to stop it, thinking back could've lifted off. The road was nearly completely dry and there wasn't anything on it, my tyres are pretty good too. Im running a pretty stock na, just wondering if i should expect this when hoofing it in second.....
  21. I used waxyoil on my triumph and its been on there for 10 years and is still doing the job well. I personally would always use it. You just have to ensure you apply in a dry clean environment and give it long enough to dry.
  22. I bought blueprint disks and pads all round for around £150 i think it was. Just as a price comparison.
