    Evening Peeps

Hello. im a fairly new owner too
  2. Bit like a copy of the mr2 trd. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=mr2+trd&num=10&hl=en&biw=1163&bih=638&tbm=isch&tbnid=IgmGGzpV8ghtTM:&imgrefurl=http://trd2000gt.forumotion.com/&docid=nfBrJa1KxLmeJM&imgurl=http://i68.servimg.com/u/f68/13/58/30/33/titlep10.jpg&w=370&h=185&ei=HZiJUKfOK4eu0QXS5YD4Aw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=830&vpy=333&dur=537&hovh=149&hovw=297&tx=103&ty=56&sig=114075042597689942544&page=1&tbnh=139&tbnw=277&start=0&ndsp=12&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0,i:90
  3. Wow i just used a screw driver and spanner and mine came out. Didnt need to do any of that and the rubbers were shot!
  4. Been trying to organise a convoy from this area. But think well be driving in opposite directions? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?279133-Rolling-road-day-at-Dyno-Daze-(11th-nov)
  5. I may look into this route as well. Cheers for all of the input
  6. Spent a day sorting some bits. I decided to do the lights today as they were in a state. What a beeping nightmare of a job it has literally taken me all day! After fighting to get them apart, which took nearly 2 hours to do, the glue was well stuck on, i spent ages prepping the inserts and primering them. I then cleaned and prepped again to apply the black only to find that the halfords black reacted with my primer i had used so had to strip them all back again! The patchy bits are just condensation from being outside. Anyway here are the pics, i also did the ashtray too. Was planning on doing the dash as well, but as the lights were such a pain i ran out of time.....
  7. As a transplant do they make the stock power of 280?
  8. Do tell.. Is there a build thread?
  9. Ah thanks. Nope thats different. I had custom duel ss piping made to follow the original pipework but remove the 2 silencers under the car. Coll still unique
  10. Nice car. Can i have a pic of your exhaust from under the car. Thought id came up with something new when i made my exhaust the other day but not sure now
  11. What about stock n/a's? Whats considered high mileage and do they go bang?
  12. So we'd be talking a fair amount of extra weight then... I think a thicker headgasket would be best as that would allow for further tweaks down the line if im right, could be wrong.... Cheers for your advice. Im gonna see what i can find price wise for these bits, could in theory be a weekend build having the bits in front of me..
  13. I think that i will look into sourcing the parts. I know the rough cost of the ARP's as already bought some :-) not for this car though.... This very well could be the beginning of the build thread then! One thing though with the tt head on the na bottom end would with turbos attached would be heavier, would this mean that the engine would need to be torqued up differently? Ive not combined 2 engine sections before only ever taken apart and put back together. I assume it would be worthwhile rebuilding the turbos whilst i have them too. The standards are ceramic am i right? Should i consider changing to steel? And would the higher compression result in a piggyback ecu, or can the stock tt be re-mapped.
  14. My na is immaculate but high mileage, Which makes a huge reduction in value really. It also has all the facelift bits so thats a plus as apposed to some ive seen for sale. But more importantly i want to keep it
  15. You have definitely got me thinking. Would i need to alter anything compression wise or would running the higher compression be ok? parts wise it would be a quite short list then. Ecu, turbos, manifold, tt head, and nice big cooler (im assuming air would be suitable as apposed to charge cooling)?
  16. ? Really i havent seen them for less than 6k in similar nic to my na. Parts are definitely coming in cheaper than that!
  17. Hmmm that would be an ideal solution.... I ideally would like stock parts rather than going single as reliability has been a thought.
  18. Has that been done before?
  19. would a garage really charge 1k to fit an engine. Always done it myself but never thought it would be that much!
  20. I would want to be manual, that is where i was getting the much higher price for a tt lump, unless you can run a tt on the standard 5 speed. I have been planning a smallish single build, and by planning i mean considering. I dont want mega power but turbo is just one option, im also considering a few alternatives.
  21. Do tell? Stock turbos and ducting is easier to get than a stock tt lump. - - - Updated - - - Really? Ive seen tt engines box and bits go for like £3000. Ive quoted parts for a turbo conversion to be less than this as i wont be paying labour.
  22. Oh i thought you could tt a na engine using aftermarket. Ok i undersstand now. In that case going single is far cheaper than buying a tt lump as far as i can tell. Cheers guys i will start shopping :-)
  23. I know they wouldnt just bolt on as such, i was just wondering whether it would be cost effective to fit them to an na, or make an na-tt or just buy a tt lump. Just trying to gauge costs.
