  1. So what's people's overall verdict on the belt then?
  2. Having another look the teeth all look securely attached and the groove was always present so maybe this can be considered acceptable wear. The body of the belt and centre of the teeth under the belt all look good. I'd like to see some belts on others cars. Being non interference and the belt looking so new I may carry on for a while and monitor.
  3. If like to see some images of these other belts?!

Ive got to join the "ive got enough money to buy Syvecs" club first
  5. Really? Even in the 3rd pic? I know they normally have an indented lip around the edge (or at least my mr2 one did) but this just looked a little too severe! Ill carry on using it and monitor it i guess. Worst that'll happen is i get stranded somewhere! - - - Updated - - - The words Toyota are lovely and clear, hence why when i bought the car i assumed it had been done within the last 20k or so.
  6. I retract my carless mechanic statement then
  7. Do you mean the metal surround? Its been bent out a little bit. Im assuming a slightly careless mechanic at some point has bent it out of shape.
  8. Cheers thanks. Ill order a pump from them then.
  9. Ok cheers. Quality ok with those?
  10. Has anyone used a waterpump and housing from these guys, my cambelt is getting changed so makes sense to do this too. They seem to be very reasonably priced on the water pumps.
  11. I dont have much history for the car so not entirely sure. But when i bought the car me and mark inspected the belt closely and it looked fairly new, all of the writing was clear and clean on it and there were no signs of heavy use on the belt at all.
  12. No it started raining, im guessing its highly likely the belt was changed and not the tensioner/pulley and this has started failing causing pull on the belt? It was not looking like this a couple of months ago so something has gone or given out quite quickly.
  13. I took the cover off to get to the plugs.
  14. The crank pulley has the tipex mark on it and this hasnt moved since owning the car so seems ok. The only small issue i have there is the idler on the aux belt was sticking slightly but is fine now. Im based in Coventry, although i think i may stop using the car until i drive to you, really shocked at the rate of deterioration! Here are the pics,
  15. Saying that just pulled the timing belt round to a different position and two points on the front edge are looking terrible too. Im amazed its deteriorated so quickly. Ill post the pics in a sec
  16. Timing belt the aux belt is fine, old but fine. Im amazed as i checked the belt a few months ago and it was fine, its now looking terrible!
  17. That would be amazing! When would u be able to help? And is the supra belt an off the shelf jobby?
  18. I'm hoping there someone who can help. Basically finally got my supra running again now and today I went out to tidy ages things up. However I noticed a tiny speak on the timing belt. I had a closer look and turning it towards me slightly the offside is pretty badly feathered. I'm asking for someone's help to change it ASAP as its really quite bad. I recently had all of my tools stolen from my lockup so have no means of doing it alone. So really hoping there is someone who can offer assistance!

Um I dont remember someone offering up an emanage before, but i may have forgotten? 150squids that is good How long would it take to do do you think?
  20. Yer that would be great thanks How would i go about attaching it, thats the bit ive not been able to get my head around. I thought that id need to make it "U" shape and then use an adhesive or somethinge?

Ok cool thanks. Got my eye on one with a harness and a turbo map at the moment, not that that matters as i wont be driving the car to the garage. Ill just plug the ecu in when i get there.

Cheers i think i will go with the emanage then. I assume the 'general' harness that comes with it can be used with the supra?
  23. Yer i'd want something light as the bonnet already weighs a ton!
  24. What wil you make a rain guard using? Id like to keep the bonnet, much to everyones disgust.
