  1. Yeah makes sense. Can I change the autobox with a new one without having to remove the engine? or can anyone link me to any guides please?
  2. Nope oils levels fine, the box is completely gone now, can hardly even drive it 10ft lol. Just so strange how it happened so suddenly and within 3 days rapidly escalated. Will get back to you Keron for the autobox
  3. I'm in Dunstable, thanks guys anyway but I think its permanently damaged now, still isn't catching on the gears if I push the pedal down more than an inch at once after filling the oil. How much do autoboxes generally go for these days? guess I'll need a torque converter too and anything else?
  4. Ok I had checked the oil hot, level ground, ran through the gears and in parked and it read fine. Honestly I forgot to leave it running whilst checking, i checked again under the same circumstances but with the engine running. The fluid level dropped by half, way below maximum, oops my bad lol. Topped it up with 1.5L dex3 but still seems like its playing up, maybe the damage has been done using overdrive hardly makes any difference now.
  5. I've been having problems with my supe, for the past couple weeks maybe but has got alot worse this week. (JSPEC 93 AUTO NA) This has happened at the worst possible time, insurance and tax due amongst other things so I need some help please to narrow the problem area down so I can get it fixed as quickly as possible without costing a bomb doing the old trial and error. ... It started off as when I am pulling away from standstill or in low gears up to 25mph I'll push the throttle as normal to accelerate but get no response so I'll push it further to try accelerate and the revs build up past 3/4k but the speed doesn't increase, then 5 seconds later all of a sudden there will be a judder it'll feel as if it just catches on to the revs and engages gear. The car feels completely normal at higher speeds 40mph+, it's just at lower speeds it feels like it's kind of slipping, at first i thought the back wheels were spinning and couldnt get traction. I'm currently driving with the manual gears which feel more responsive and better but it still slips. I'll try get a video posted, and pics also if required. Thanks.

  7. So just got home from work, after my first ever near crash and now my offside rear wheel is making a creaking noise.. Basically, I was driving in a 60mph zone at probably 35mph, with a Corsa and another car infront of me, and a slow lorry infront of them. I waited for a good opportunity to overtake when the road was clear and took it, check mirrors, indicated out (had my lights on also) then boom as I'm on the other side of the road accelerating suddenly a Corsa that was infront of me swings out inches away from me without indicating.. had to brake hard from 60ish in an instant as I was literally about to crash, wheels screeching and lost grip. Now my offside rear wheel is making a metal rubbing/creaking noise, couldn't see anything that stood out but it sounds like its coming from behind the wheel? the noise isnt constant or random, it is once every rotation of the wheel. hope it's nothing serious, times like these I wish I had a dash cam.

    how much..

    May need to put my supra up for sale soon due to my new much longer daily commute to work snd need a more prsctical car for that. I was wondering how much you would value my car at so I can get the right price. Specs are... 1993 jap import auto na. 69k miles on the engine. Just been fully serviced a few hundred miled ago (Cambelt, gearbox serviced, new alternator etc etc). Also new full stainless mint catback just fitted. Everything is in good condition besides some cracks on the front bumper. Everthings working fine.. lightly modded i guess lol xenons, parrot hands free, clifford alarm, hks suspension, new speajers and the boot has 2 alpine amps and 2 kicker subs.. some more stuff but you get the picture.   11. Mine has been making a loud whirring noise since it got damaged by water, so maybe its a bearing . Which is the reason i want a new one or will reconditioning fix that noise?

Just had a NA auto engine fitted in my supra it's drivable but has been running very rough, the car stutters, sounds like misfiring and revs 'pulse' (randomly drops 100 then comes back up quickly). If I try to accelerate it makes a popping kind of noise/feeling randomly and revs go up but no power/speed until the popping goes. Best way I can explain it is the type of stuttering/chugging a car does when its almost empty on fuel lol.. Anyone have any suggestions on what this may likely be?

  15. hiya guys, I recently bought my first supra (93 NA SZ Jap import) and have ran into some problems which I was hoping you could help me out with. The car was running fine for the first 2 weeks then on a hot day when I had been running the car all day, I saw steam coming out of the engine (note the temparture guage was reading as normal), a few days later it happened again and I discovered the coolant hose at the back of the engine which connects to the heater core had split, the engine had then started misfiring and running rough, so I removed the house and reconnected the other one so that it bypasses the heater matrix. I had noticed a lot of water had leaked from the hose to the engine, so checked the spark plugs which were drenched in water, so dried it out and replaced the plugs, the engine was no longer misfiring but still overheating (but this time the temp guage was high) so I flushed the coolant system and eplaced the thermo stat and compression tested the cylinders which read lowest 174psi highest 184psi cold engine, I also checked for signs of gasket failure in the oil and coolant. Yet it continues to overheat with the coolant resovior boiling and spraying water out, and light steam at the back coolant hose. Thanks for anyone that took the time to read this and offer any suggestions as I'm all out, and I'm ssorry for the use of paragraphs and grammar as I'm on my phone that freezes.
