I want them!
-
Big thanks to Sam for setting this up for me. Got a brilliant price considering my circumstances and the service was outstanding. The best I've had from and insurance company. They really do have their customers best interests in mind
-
I think this no text approach has made it a little more interesting. You have no idea what he's going to do and it will keep the interest as you all get frustrated arguing amongst each other as to what the hell he is actually doing. Why not make up your own narrative?
-
You all say they are horrible, make the car look cheap, dated and don't suit it but to no honest a lot of aftermarket body kits you all have CHOSEN to have on yours look horrible, cheap and dated. Modern times are well passed fast and furious body kits unless you're going to make the car look mental. And unless you're making it look mental you may as well have subtle more modern looking modifications that keep the supra looking like it fits in 2014. So really these excuses can't be used with regards to not having lambo style doors. If you like them then put them on. Who cares what we think!? It's your car. A vast majority of supras I'm sad go to say look horrendous. Mine included when I first got It. But money is the only limiting factor for it right now

Do the lights turn on?

End of Feb bump. Keep this alive!

Can you actually get classic insurance on these now?

Cheers bros So this is her back from the garage and next to something a little interesting in work. So happy to have her back!

No this isn't some elaborate project name I've made up I've never really been one to want to update you all on my supra as I've always assumed you'd find it boring. But I figured that maybe some of you would take an interest. Especially seeing as I love seeing how everyone else is doing with theirs. Also posting this up will get what I need noticed and people may be more inclined to sell/swap parts that I need. Please excuse the bad photography. I lost a lot of photos I had. When I first got her - Aftermarket alloys - Body kit (unknown) - TRD replica spoiler - Completely standard on everything else. J-spec, 2000, TT, facelift, UK brakes all round I then changed the exhaust to a rare RSR exhaust. No decat yet and put on a stubby aerial conversion. (Pics to come) I hadn't touched her in a while and one unfortunate day someone smashed into me This gave me chance to have a trial rear bumper put on. With her in the garage undergoing repairs I decided to take advantage and have a few things done whilst I had a spare car. So I've bought a low level spoiler from Ibrar, had that fitted, got my arches rolled and 25mm spacers chucked on the rears. She hasn't been completed yet because of a boot locking mechanism being waited on. Toyota kept sending the wrong part. So this is her Because of the front bumper I can't put spacers on the front without them catching. But they don't look too bad. (Pics of when she is out will come soon) My future plans: - Standard front bumper with active spoiler - change the skirts. Thinking trial again but unsure (suggestions?) OEM won't look right with a trial rear - New wheels 10j width on the rears. 9j on the front. These ones - front mount intercooler - full BPU - bucket seats I currently have a standard spoiler that I can change for the low level one once I get bored of it and fancy seeing one in my rear view. So that will change randomly. I am unsure what I should do with the low level spoiler. I'm thinking of painting it black but I'm unsure if it will look good. Thoughts? Maybe a photo shop guru out there can do some work for me once I get some good pics up I've always been a fan on a slightly more sporty OEM look so that's the direction I'm going. So what do you think? Very open to opinions Cheers Tristan

They should have a wrap around dash like the mkiv. One of my favourite features

Cheer for all the info so far. I will let you know how I get on. Hopefully I can get some footage of it on my gopro

Cheers for the link bud. I'll do that GT5/6 idea as well.
-
Good idea i will do that as well. We are planing either 16th-18th or 21st-23rd. I don't know the dates for the tourist weekend but if it's around the 21st then I will definitely get hold of you during it

Also the longest journey I have done is Birmingham to bristol in the supra and with a long journey coming up I would like to know if supras have any problems that can possibly arise from a long drive that are any different to other cars. Naturally I will check all levels, full service prior to the journey and ensure I have plenty of tred left on the tyres. I will take a small selection of tools, and some small bottles of oil, coolant and brake fluid to top up just in case levels go down for any reason. The tape and zip ties are a good idea I will use. I will drive well within my limits. I would be way to worried about totalling my supra to push it too hard to soon

Don't get my wrong I will quite happily chuck my car around a track as it stands (once repaired of course). The only reason I am asking is that people seem to talk about preparing a car for a track day as if there is a specific set up the car needs to be in and the last thing I want to do is put it round a track and find out that actually I needed to upgrade a certain part first or I don't have something that is written withing the regulations of any track. I have no knowledge of track driving apart from go kart fun For the record my car Is always well maintained everything is checked at regular intervals to ensure my car is road worthy and safe

Cheers for the info so far

Would I use 15w50 - Silkolene Pro R, Motul 300V oil? That's what was recommend in the oils guide on here for track use. Or is that for cars that are being specifically designed to be track cars? Also if I am to use it then is it safe to use on a the journey down?

Hello supra owners world I am looking for some friendly pointers and advice. A few work mates who have some heavily modified cars are looking to do a trip to the nurburg ring in April over a weekend and I am pretty excited to go however I don't want to destroy my car by tracking it after a long journey. So basically What would I need to do to prepare for a journey that long? What would I need to do to my car to track it safely? Insurance wise what are my options? And Is there any advice for the long journey and more so tracking the supra? I have a general idea what I would do to prepare for a long journey but I want to check with some of you members who have done this before and already made mistakes and have good experience with this sort of thing. Cheers Tristan

I've owned a 2000 model before and currently own one now. spg has my old one. Although they are pretty rare to find. Not seen a 2001 or 2002 model yet

Is it possible to just get the blade of the front active spoiler?

Cheers bros

I am looking to change my front bumper to something a little more OEM looking. But I'm not a fan of the completely standard facelift front unless it has a front spoiler but I don't want to install one of those. So what I'm asking is what is out there that looks like a standard bumper but just nicer? Please post pics and name of the bumper
