  1. If its a genuine crash hope he pulls through! No details released as yet as to whether it was stolen or not.
  2. And you think continuing to run it will improve the condition of your crankshaft?
  3. Tri-Aceor West lake tyres bud. Only tyre you'll ever need
  4. As above anyone got a good black bootlid?
  5. You should give Mark a shout if you need support, I'm sure he would be more than happy to help
  6. Well Paul is a Link dealer so he shouldn't really be telling you they are a pain to set up, aside from the fact its not true but anyway... Support wise it depends where in the country you are as to who fits and maps them. For example, I know Jurgan at JM is now dealing Link and is doing an offer of free fitting and mapping with every purchase. The Supras run quite successfully on Link, my own car is doing 750bhp on one, the plugin is already loaded with a base map so it literally is plug in and start..... hence the no pain to set up! With the plugin there is no real sense in buying a wire in unless its a competition or drift car and needs the extra features. Retail for the Supralink Plugin is £1300 or there abouts. The wire in in a bit dearer and varies by dealer. There is a Link plugin for nearly all common applications including all marques of Evo. Oh and also, the big advantage with Link Plugin is you literally do not need a single additional sensor, save for an IAT sensor which you may or may not need depending on how your car is set up as all new Link units now incorporate a built in MAP sensor.
  7. As an alternative, the Link units either Supra link direct plugin or Link G4+ Xtreme are a far more versatile unit if you have a manual car, than the Syvecs and at a fraction of the cost and have a much bigger support network. Up to yourself though, just something to consider. A few members on here running them now.
  8. Just as an FYI update, with the Lancaster, SKY and other common insurers, been finding great difficulty getting insured because of living in Northern Ireland, seems it still carries a bit of a stigma, which is unfortunate. Best quote so far has actually been with Greenlight, through Markerstudy allowing me: - Ceiling of unlimited modifications up to 850bhp, which would be plenty for me - Protected no claims - Driving other cars extension (which I know is fairly standard for 25+) - Glass cover - Legal cover up to £100,000 - Like for like replacement on Mods in the event of an accident or theft resulting in loss or damage I also received a 15% discount for being an owners club member, not MKIVsupra unfortunately but another NI based one, but perhaps this is something a club rep could look to set up? As a bonus, that was just with me insured and didn't have to add on any older family members, so all straight and upfront.
  9. As above looking for a 60mm external wastegate
  10. As far as I know thats the whole point of the sensor to measure anything "slapping" in the block at all be that pistons or worse.
  11. Gave them a shout, they are to come back to me with a quote but as you say, great to deal with, hopefully they can do something for me!
  12. I've always maintained that a healthy engine should not need a catalytic converter to pass MOT at all. Whether they demand that it is physically there or not is another issue. As an example before my engine completely failed I failed emissions spectacularly on both CO and HC, without a catalytic converter which I was failed on a second count of not having one present. Conversely after my engine was rebuilt, my car passed MOT on emissions being just 8% of the limit value and even well below the stated emissions on the underside of my bonnet sticker (UK Spec, don't know if J spec have one or not). The MOT centre also did not mark me down for not having a catalytic converter present either.
  13. Yea its a '93 UK Spec. Footman James can't insure it because of the horsepower increase from standard apparently. Which is a shame! I spoke to LV but they are wanting me to be over 30 for a classic policy!
  14. Yea Sky wont do NI still unfortunately
  15. Hi guys, I know this is a fairly commonly asked question on here but specifically for guys in the 700bhp+ club, who are you using and what are your specific circumstances and premiums? Finding my renewal has increased from last year, not by much mind but dont really want to pay £1k if I can help it given Ive 9 years no claims, never had any accidents claims or convictions and a fairly tame occupation so not really in a high risk bracket. (28yrs of age, Chartered Accountant, NI postcode low risk area) Just finding it hard to get any other insurer to give a half sensible quote from what i already have. Not sure if its the value being £25k based on itemised cost but the increase from £16k 2 years ago to £25k last year was the reason for a £150 increase last year. I'm going on the basis of what it would cost me to essentially build another one, not what the market value is as I'm sure most of you remember my opinions on that. All input appreciated Thanks Niall
  16. Is this for auto or manual? Definitely have the brake pedal bracket and definitely have an auto pedal if that helps?
  17. Think I have a full set of these mate
  18. Im pretty sure these are powdercoated originally
  19. There is an accepted minimum and maximum according to the workshop manual. Anywhere in that range is acceptable but mileage is largely irrelevant and not necessarily linked to engine health
  20. To be honest with the age of the cars and the engines now I think we will be seeing alot more of this in the future, engines just giving up. Any ones I've seen being rebuilt from stock these days look tired when they are pulled apart. I wouldnt let it get you down too much mate. Just one of those things! Do your research and you'll find you can do a standard rebuild for alot less than you think!
  21. Thats fair enough, was thinking of doing the same to my own given the amount thats been done rebuilding it! Did you agree it with DVLA or just going on the basis of making anyone aware who buys it? Did it go through MOT with the new mileage ok?
  22. Is that mileage the actual genuine mileage on the car from new or just from its been rebuilt?
  23. Ahaha ok lol fair enough! Hah actual lols
