  1. Well guys, just a little update. Following on from some of the comments I was getting before and looking at long term goals; I amended my spec list to include: BoostLab BW S366HF BC 264 Cams Int & Ext SATS Motorsport Vernier Cam Gears And of course the obligatory remap & Setting Up for such mods. Whilst doing this, we found that the front oil seal needed replacing as it had more than seen better days and the timing star also got welded up and it received a brand new Toyota water pump and timing belt kit just to be sure. Im sure some of you read about the temperature issues I was having due to going non water cooled and the effect on waterflow in the engine. Thus, the car also received a TRD 72 degree thermostat to remedy this issue and restore waterflow as the Toyota 82degree stat wasnt opening. So without further Adue, the results, and a Video The car made 556.6BHP/461.67Lbs/Ft at the wheels. The dyno being used doesn't calculate engine figures for autos as the run down can be unreliable so we turned that bit off but going on the SRR rough guestimate losses of 20-23% for autos, that equates to what, about, 708BHP/588.86Lbs/Ft at the Fly, of course this is pure speculation of sum, but even still, I'm pretty darn pleased with the ATW figures
  2. Hey guys, just noticed on TOYODIY, while lookign something up for someone else, The UK Spec Autobox, is different from the J-Spec Autobox UK - 35000-1B330 J Spec - 35000-1B310 I know that the general consensus is that the Auto Transmission is only good for about 550BHP, i.e about 500Lbs/ft torque (gearbox heat killer), my question then is, could it be possible that the UK Spec box is superior? Does anyone know how they differ? Can they handle more perhaps? Transmission gurus Go!!
  3. A mate of mine did NA-T, he said for the cost of it he wishes he'd just bought the TT setup and gone from there. Personal preference though im sure
  4. I dont have mine either, its NR in my opinion but i know it is there to help cooling per toyota as a primary function. Hasnt hurt my car at 600bhp lol
  5. No just the bit under the front bumper, its stiffer than the usual one and the spoiler kind of folds up into it. Yea there is a loom that the active spoiler plugs into but I think they all have it and its just a matter of plugging the spoiler into it, but dont quote me on it as that might not be correct. Aww but I've been so helpful lol
  6. ECU is behind the radio panel, says something like "Spoiler Assy Control" on it, the button in the cabin and then the spoiler mechanism itself as well as the undertray as the undertray allows them to function properly and they are a bit useless without it. Pricewise they are worth what someone is willing to pay but £100+ is a good starting point for a fully functioning one. At this point I am also going to call first dibs on it as well when you do remove it, if you dont mind!. lol
  7. Yea but its a push-pull relationship. The vacuuming of the trigger tube signals the diaphram to open and by proxy the pressure within the system is able to push the valve open and escape hence the dump. I do agreee though, it seems strange. Are you testing it in the road and just listening for it to open or how do you know its not opening? A problem i had with 2 ssqvs on mine was that they leaked and never dumped because the plunger wasnt sealing correctly. They are an inferior valve as the components are plastic and warp and dont seal say in comparison to the greddy type valves that have metal components
  8. Id just T it into the boost gauge line usually, if it still isnt dumping at that then I'd say the valve is gone or else there isnt enough pressure to open it. Some of the old HKS ones were adjustable and only opened at really high boost
  9. I think though, that bushing is like the diff where you can buy the top and bottom but not the very centre, but id imagine they dont wear which is why you cant buy them
  10. It wont pull if its the rear wheels, but if it was significantly out on one side you'd prob get quite a bit of vibration and stuff from the rear
  11. - - - Updated - - - Shud be you there bud
  12. That arm looks like it could have a small bow in it but Im not sure if they are poker straight and how much surface rust there is so it may be ok, does it drive ok? Biggest giveaway would be ifg it drives like a crab or there is uneven tyre wear?
  13. no, they are like the locking collars you used to get on 200sx's and stuff when the subframe bushes have had it, temporary fix for dozed bushes! Tightens them up quite well tho!
  14. post 52 in that thread worked for me, however I found the DOME fuse was blown so that may have been the underlying issue
  15. Lol....ok, I think you'd find your response there a bit more in keeping with that spectrum if you knew what I actually did day to day but anyway. Good luck, sounds like you have it sussed !
  16. It shouldnt be that hard to figure out........ but you really shouldnt have disassembled it if you didn't know how to put it back together. maybe you could send it to someone like chris wilson who will reassemble it for you, although in saying that it will still need setting up on the car afaik. You're not really meant to mess about with the stop screws too much.
  17. What is the big dip in around 6000rpm?
  18. Well there you have it jumpbike, from one of the best tech minds on the forum
  19. Ill buy it for the scrap value then if you like
  20. Like i said, give it to someone who knows what they're on about and never worry
  21. If you have been looking at RX7's and Skylines, and just the fact you refer to a Stage 1 modified supra, I think you need to rethink what Supra ownership would be like, they aren't cheap cars to own or modify and if your final goal is 500bhp, you're probably looking at 4-5 figures to get there properly. Toyota's aren't like nissans and stuff like that and they will punish you for cheaping out on stuff, even basic things like SLDs and FCDs can present a multitude of problems if done incorrectly or on the cheap, not like nissans etc where you just whack them in and off you go. ( I know, I've owned 2 200sx's and an RX7).
