  1. As long as Eric Adams, Joey DeMaio etc are still going strong, then I will be happy! Go Manowar .. the loudest live band I've ever heard!! They have survived right through the 80's and are still going strong. They run a big festival each year called the 'Magic Circle' in Germany (usually) which I always try to get to if I can. They usually invite along some other bands like Whitesnake, Alice Cooper etc etc, all of which are good for some old-school metal/rock. Cheers, J
  2. Heh ... agreed! I've spent the last 2 years living in Madrid, and I never saw any form of Supra at all! I saw a few Subaru's, Evo's, 300ZX ... but very rarely! I always wanted to take mine over there, burn down the Castellana (one of the big main roads through the middle of Madrid) and head home again! Probably would have turned a few heads hearing something that sounds like the coming of the apocalypse burning through the city Cheers, J
  3. Some pretty crazy snow over this way, totally bottled going to work for the past 2 days ... here are some pics ... My Pics on Flickr Cheers, J
  4. Hurrah ... this is good to hear because AFR are dropping the F-CON V Pro into my car right now too . I had a new E-Manage Ultimate sitting around that I got from Japan about 2 years ago, but after reading around a little (and with some advice from the guys) I sold that and got the F-Con instead, which suited my needs better. Good to hear that it's made such a difference to your car, I can't wait. It's a shame that authorised HKS mappers are so few and far between, or I am sure this would be a more widely used unit. But it's good news for us lot who aren't far away from AFR Cheers, J
  5. I've had my car for about 5 years now, and it's been kept outside all the time in a driveway. For the most part it's been exposed to the elements, just slightly protected by walls on either side. I do have a cover for the car too, which was on for about 2 years while I was away in Madrid, but for all of that exposure to the elements, I don't think I have any sign of rust on the bodywork at all. I think your biggest worry would be the actual driving in the snow and ice, it's a bit tricky (but then the same applies to any car really when conditions are very bad). But as most people have said above, if you drive with the respect that the car and conditions deserve, then it's just like any other car in bad weather. Cheers, J

    Triffids!

    Awesome! Please be Tripods next!
  7. I go for a bit of old-school rock or some melodic metal when it's time to chill out ... for example: - Wind Of Change - Scorpions n4RjJKxsamQ Staind - It's Been a While wVC1iBVnKJk Nightwish - The Islander x2sd8UMUaIk Placebo - Running up that Hill p5wota5vQCU Even better ... for people that use Spotify ... HERE is my shared & collaborative Playlist "80's Playlist of Eternal Win" - . Whisk yourselves back to the 80's for some proper chillout Cheers, J
  8. Hey Matt, I've had this before on a couple of PC's. This solution HERE has helped me in the past (provided you have a 2nd PC or a Laptop etc handy). Have you tried hitting 'F8' when it's booting to see if the boot menu appears? I think this error would probably be happening before you get to this point, but worth trying just incase. If you can get there, try the 'Load Last Known Good Configuration' option. You could also try running the Check Disc with Recovery option from the Windows CD to see if that does anything. So boot from the Windows CD and press 'R' for recovery. Go to the 'Command Line' mode (I forget exactly what it's called) and type "chkdsk C:/R (assuming that C: is your hard drive with Windows on it). This 'should' run the checkdisc feature with the recovery built in for when/if it finds any issues. Geeks of the world unite! Cheers, J
  9. I am fine to use things like Ryanair or EasyJet or whatever, the flight is under 2 hours and I just geek out on the DS or something. Only problem is that, as far as I am aware, none of these airlines fly from Heathrow. They all go from Gatwick or Luton or somewhere like that. Those are all on the wrong side of London for me and Heathrow is just a 15 min drive away! With all the cost and hassle of getting to the airports that these airlines fly from, I might as well just pay a little extra, get a designated seat, decent baggage allowance and go with BA or Iberia. I took EasyJet once from Madrid to Gatwick. They managed to take 9.5 hours to do what BA do in 2.5 hours. And I think the dude I was sitting next to had TB or something, it was 2 hours of horrible coughing, and me wondering what kind of tropical diseases I was going to be sporting after I got off!!
  10. This was the main problem they were talking about on the news, and the main problem facing me. Do I book tickets with another airline based on BA's promises that customers will be refunded if the strike is cancelled. Or do I wait to see what happens and cross my fingers. But there was also the issue of, if I do decide to book new tickets, how long do I wait before risking the fact that there will be no seats left!! They were basically saying that if you book tickets with someone else, and your BA flight goes ahead, then there is nothing that can be done and you will lose that money .... which is basically what's happened to lots of people. Luckily I decided against that option and it's all seemed to work out! Bet the flights get cancelled for fog or snow now instead
  11. :more::nana: i.e. Yay! I just hope there is no fog or snow etc ... that's usually the other issue for flights at this time of year! I just really hope I can pick her up in the beast, that would round everything off nicely
  12. If he pleaded ignorance for a few weeks/months, he probably would have got a fairly decent amount of interest on that, no? He could have taken the moral high-ground and given it back, but probably have pocketed a good few thousand in interest in the meantime.
  13. Hahah! It's not so much the me going there thing that annoys me. It's her coming here that I am most annoyed about. We've been together 2 years now and this is the first chance she's had to come. Alot of planning and time and effort has been put into this. She's not had a proper family Christmas for 25+ years due to her home-life, so she's very excited, and I was really looking forward to making it special. I am just one of tens of thousands of people who have this problem! Just saw that BA are now taking legal action against the Union to stop the strike as they believe the ballot was not valid. Hope it works. Service will be dismal, but at least we'll get to where we need to go!
  14. Well, if what Snooze said is the truth, then I have absolutely no sympathy for them whatsoever! In the current climate I think most people would take a freeze and be happy to have a job, especially given their pay compared to the competitors. I was made redundant a year ago, and I would have taken a 2 year pay freeze without more than 1 second of thought! It's a no-brainer! And reducing 1 member of staff on a flight! Oh come on! My department of 10 people was reduced to 6, and I do a hell of a lot more than give people overpriced 'shots' of Coke and patronise them about how to put a seatbelt on! We pulled together as a team, counted ourselves lucky that we weren't one of the 4 that went (this is my new job btw) and got on with what we had to do. Although, to be fair, if we decided to strike, FIFA or Battlefield would be delayed by a week ... hardly going to ruin tens of thousands of people's Christmas Cheers, J
  15. Not sure if this is true, but it says it's data from the Civil Aviation Authority The average salary for BA’s 14,000 cabin crew, including bonuses and allowances, is £29,900, compared with £14,400 at Virgin Atlantic and £20,200 at easyJet. BA’s pilots earn an average of £107,600, compared with £89,500 at Virgin and £71,400 at easyJet. Sorry, what was their problem again? Yes, they are probably better than EasyJet (but far more expensive), but I would rate Virgin over BA for sure! They certainly can't ride the 'BA is holier than thou' wave anymore in terms of the competition they are up against!!
  16. Grrrr, Anyone else about to have a potential ruined Christmas thanks to the money-grabbing fools at BA? My Girlfriend is flying over from Madrid on the 22nd to visit the UK and my family for the first time. We've booked restaraunts, planned family meals, shopping trips and gone to lots of effort and expense to make her feel at home. The potential that this is about to be ruined is irritating (that was the HEAVILY censored version). And that's just the start of it. We were also both supposed to be flying back to Madrid (I have a flat there) to spend New Year with friends on the 28th (right in the middle of the proposed walkout) and I am due to fly back on the last day of the action to start work again! All in all, I have about £600 worth of flights tied up in all this!! After 2 years of babbling on about it, I am so excited to FINALLY show her the car that counts as my 2nd girlfriend (if I get her back in time /prays) that I will go postal if a bunch of selfish people ruin this! I am sure they have a good reason to strike (although reading all the various reports, it seems that actually they are a bunch disallusioned money-grabbing fools who should be thankful they have a job at all), but why in the name of all that is holy do they choose Christmas! After what has been a pretty crappy year for everyone, Christmas is a chance to just get together and try to enjoy the good things ... oh wait, no .... RUINED! Thanks! Season of Good Will my A**E !! This is like the Grinch and Scrooge combined on an industrial scale!! If this goes ahead, it's almost certainly going to be the end of BA, and then none of them will have a job. And will I care .... NO! I really hope they sort this out before it's allowed to go ahead, or at least move it to a time where families and children and friends aren't going to have to suffer any more than they already have during this crappy year! /takes a deep breath. Rant over p.s. I reserve the right to rant again when the annoyance begins to bubble up again (usually around 12.00 when there is a queue for coffee) Cheers, J
  17. EndWar - NO Far Cry 2 - YES (make sure your PC is good) HAWX - NO Prince of Persia - MAYBE World in Conflict - YES CSI: New York - NO Grey’s Anatomy - NO Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway - NO Shaun White Snowboarding - NO If you don't already have them, worth considering (I think all get 90+ Metacritic ratings): - Half Life 2 BioShock Left 4 Dead 2 Crysis Dirt 2 Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (although 2 was a bit better tbh ) Cheers, J
  18. I put the camera on a tripod, set the exposure time to 30 seconds, set the ISO to 100, and pressed the 'shoot' button! It basically just leaves the shutter open for 30 seconds and absorbs all the light that it sees which, in this case, was all the cars driving past my house. It's a cool effect because the rest of the scenery (road, grass, bushes etc) don't move at all in those 30 seconds, so they appear static. Cheers, J
  19. My super-amazing girlfriend got me my first Digital SLR camera for my birthday on Sunday....and I LOVE it!! It's a Canon EOS 500D and I've been messing around with as many of the settings as I can so far to try and learn how it all works!! I don't have my Supra here at the moment, but as soon as she's back, she'll be the main focus of my SD card, but I've got some shots like this just within the first 24 hours of ownership: - http://www.bouncingbullet.com/hello.jpg http://www.bouncingbullet.com/nightlights.jpg http://www.bouncingbullet.com/stars.jpg http://www.bouncingbullet.com/puppy.jpg http://www.bouncingbullet.com/treeeee.jpg As I said, these were all within the first 24 hours of ownership, so I know that I've only just scraped the surface of what this thing can do, but I'm still really pleased with these very 'low effort' results so far! Can't wait to try some HDR shots with the Supra!! So as far as the Canon EOS 500D goes ... I vote 'hell yes' so far Cheers, J
  20. In all honesty, I don't think I have EVER given them a 'proper' clean! Just the odd wipe-over once a year maybe with a bit of leather cleaner .. but nothing more than that. I guess they aren't as 'clean' looking nowadays as they are in that picture, but that's to be expected after 4 years of use. I have had no issues with marks on them or anything like that (I wear jeans everyday!), and they still look great I think. Maybe I should give them a good clean though and see what happens! Cheers, J
  21. I went with the following from the G&B guys back in about 2005 I think ... still look just as good now as they did the day they were done. My car is black (obviously), but I think a similar sort of shade would still compliment the orange quite nicely. Cheers, J
  22. Haha ... thankyou Getting old is nothing to be proud of, so I thought I would keep it quiet . Although thanks to Rays the Roof (clearly in 'cahoots' with my Dad), I woke up to some nice shiny bits for my engine bay this morning .. yay!! Fingers crossed I'll have a car to put them on very shortly. Watching the cars on the dyno today just makes me miss it even more!! Cheers, J
  23. Ahhh Simon (Staylor) .... only just saw that you will be there! At least I'll get to see part of my car in action
  24. I should be popping over tomorrow to check out the action too I hope .. I live 5 mins away . Unfortunately I didn't get the Supra back yet, so I'll probably be in the R32 GTR instead See y'all there Cheers, J
