  1. Yep, it was a pity that some people couldn't make it ... but it was fun nevertheless . I enjoyed the blast up the road in our car Wez . Amazing Grace ... about 5 mins after you left, another Supra turned up - LOL . He just drove past, unaware of the meeting, and pulled in for a quick chat when he saw us in there. He was in a black NA, but I forget his name (apologies dude, speak up if you see this ). I'll call him NITRO for now because of his numberplate!! Anyway .. I'll get the pics on the site eventually, but I have attached one to this post and the next 3 posts too Cheers, J
  2. Hmmm, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what is what under the bonnet, so I am not 100% sure which pulley it is. If you are looking at the car head on, it is the bottom one on the far right? I've attached another pic from a different angle. The arrow points to the hose where the pulley is touching. Just had another look with a torch, and it has actually cut a 1-2mm deep trench out of the hose  To me the hose that is on there looks really thick? I was wondering if a piece of Samco would be a bit thinner, and thus allow a bit more clearance for the pulley? My guys are fitting your cat pipes on Thursday Chris, so I will get them to have a look at that while they are under there! Cheers, J
  3. I only heard this this morning having washed the car yesterday and spraying the belts with a bit of that non-slip stuff. There was a noticeable high pitched 'clicking' noise when I started the car ... Imagine the sound of a piece of paper on fan blades and that's what it sounded like. After about 10 mins, it quietened down a little bit ... but it was still there. The noise was coming from the right-hand side of the engine (as you look at it from front-on), and sounded like it was coming from the pulleys over there? Wez and I had a little look at it at the mini-meet today, and the top pulley has a very slight wobble in it (like 1-2mm or so), so we wondered if that may be causing it. To be honest though, once I got home it had quitened down alot. However, I got the torch out and noticed that the bottom pulley was so close to part of the hosing from my FMIC that it has actually cut into it (see attached pic!). I assume that is a bad thing? To be honest, the FMIC pipes look a bit tired, so it would be nice to replace it with some Samco's anyway. Any ideas if you can get direct Samco replacements for an ARC FMIC? Cheers for any help, J
  4. I can't see us getting to Windsor much before 3.00 - 3.30pm as I'm sure we'll have a drink at the Crooked Billet. If you get out of work early, feel free to give me a call/text (07715 582452) and I'll let you know where we are Cheers, J
  5. Cool .... I'm trying to think of somewhere good to park that would lend itself to some good photo opportunities (no doubt in the rain!) .... Maybe in the park somewhere? I guess we'll just see where we end up Cheers, J
  6. I should still be there . How long is the drive to Windsor though, and whereabouts are we heading for? Cheers, J
  7. Heh heh ... Excellent, cheers Chris. I'll pass your number on to them - they are due to do it on Thursday next week (just finishing off some work on probably the nicest 3000GT I have ever seen !) Cheers, J
  8. Hey Guys, I have used the 'search' and pieced together bits of info, but does anyone know of a 'fitting guide' for the CW decat pipes anywhere? Either that, or does anyone have any pointers/advise after fitting them themselves? Mine will be the first Supra that my guys have worked on (in a mechanical sense as opposed to bodywork) so I want to give them as much of a heads' up as possible of any pitfalls. Any fiddly or confusing things they should be aware of. How long should it take to fit both pipes? Cheers, apologies for any dumb questions (probably all of it ) J
  9. Sounds good to me too! I don't think I am supposed to be doing anything that day? I'm fairly confident that I can get there without the detour through Slough this time too Cheers, J

    'Work' alloys

Does the big bolt in the middle look slightly like this: - http://www.bouncingbullet.com/supra/images/bn_DSCN1935.JPG I had a flat the other day - the tyre place got it off with a sod-off great pair of mole grips. But when I fitted new locking wheel nuts, I had to employ the 'whack a lump of wood with a rubber hammer' technique to get them to turn. Apparently they would have come with some kind of giant strengthened plastic 'nut' originally, but I guess most of these never made it over on the boat with import cars? Cheers, J
  11. ACE Cafe was pretty good (but cold!). Met Supraguy down there (lovely car) + another rather tasty red supe with neons! Quite a few of the new 350Z's kicking about too! It was a good laugh though, and it was nice to see some of the old faces from the GTI-R camp .... and meet some of the new faces from the Supra camp As for another mini-meet! I'm game ... either of the dates you suggested should be ok for me Wez . Windsor is a good place to go too ....... at least that way I will know where I am! LOL! Should have the de-cats in by then too Cheers, J
  12. Sounds good .... Whenever suits me really (except this weekend ). You would have thought I'd learned that there are 2 J16 exits .... But NOOOOOOO!! Tonight I wanted to get off at 16 and go towards London ... but I didn't pay attention and ended up missing it and having to get off at J17 and turn round! LOL ... I'm useless! Cheers, J
  13. Heh heh .. Yep! Almost too easy infact Cheers, J
  14. Heh heh .. yep, it was good! Apologies for the tour of the architectural delights of Slough Amazing Grace - we got there in the end eh ... and at least the trip home went according to plan - LOL Anyway, I've got a few mods to do now too methinks! Fastisnice - Do you have both cats out ... it sounded like it? Anyhoo ... got some pics up on my site here Bouncing Bullet Gallery (Crooked Billet Mini Meet '03) Hopefully see you all again soon? Cheers, J
  15. Hmmmm, I might be able to make this actually, sounds good .... I'll do my best :D Cheers, J
  16. Kewl ... that sounds ok then I've taken a close up of the actual attachment (it's all I can see!). I am assuming that the two areas that I have marked on the attached piccy are either end of a very large circlip? Will the SQV go straight in there .... or will I need some kind of fitting kit? Cheers for the help Dude, J
  17. Hi all, I have one of the old type HKS dump valves on my J-Spec TT. It does the job, but I used to have the HKS SQV on my old car and frankly ..... I miss the noise The current dump valve is actually attached to the FMIC piping (see attached piccy). I'm not sure if it is actually welded on, but it really doesn't look like it's going anywhere. My question is, will this come off and the HKS SQV go in it's place, or will I need a whole new section of piping for the SQV? Cheers for any help J
  18. Removing the dash was really easy. This weekend was the first time I had ever done it, and I had the stereo out within 20 mins. I used this guide to fitting aftermarket dials for info on how to remove the dash. But to be honest, it is all fairly obvious anyway : - Gauge Fitting Guide HTH. Cheers, J
  19. I just had my dash off, swapping round stereos this weekend! I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working until I finally figured out that I had to actually plug the little grey plug into the brown/red 'Antenna Relay' box ontop of the stereo bracket before it would work! D'uh! First thing I would do is make sure that is plugged in! Another thing I learned from reading posts on here is that the rear window also contains an aerial. There is a slightly smaller than standard aerial cable behind the stereo for that. It may be that the main aerial has been disconnected, and the in-screen one is being used instead? The problem that I now have is that the aerial goes up as soon as I turn the headunit on (be it CD, DAB or Tuner) . The old double-din Jap unit only put the aerial up when 'Tuner' was selected. It went down when I swapped to 'CD' or 'TAPE' which was kewl. Cheers, J
  20. Gutted I couldn't make this now .... Looked like a really good laugh - My apologies for not being there . Thought I would be pushing my luck to source and fit tyres today though!! Next time I promise!! Cheers, J
  21. Fingers crossed then! I have posted in the 'For Sale/Wanted section'. I believe I may have seen HISUPE today too .... Similar looking car? (See 'Was it you' section). I will do my VERY best to get there, but don't expect me at this point Cheers, J
  22. CURSES CURSES CURSES .... I doubt I am going to make it tomorrow unless I get VERY lucky . Found a nail in one of my rear tyres today, took it in to get repaired and it all went wrong from there on. The car has locking wheel nuts, but I don't have the key. Eventually got the wheel and tyre off, only to find that the rim had cut a nice groove round the inside of the tyre while it was flat = Death Trap. . They had no 275/35/18 tyres .... and even if they did, I doubt I would pay whatever they wanted for them ... so I have just crawled home on the spare tyre which is 17" and 1/3 of the width of the knackered one and is held on by 4 out of the 5 wheel nuts! If I get VERY lucky, I may be able to source some tyres, and get them fitted tomorrow .... but I can't see that happening as they are pretty specialist sizes! Damn .... I was really looking forward to it too  Have fun ... take some pics for my website J
  23. D'oh ... I was afraid you were going to say that. I looked all round the car for some kind of adapter/giant brace for that centre hex ... but couldn't find anything . I think you are probably right though as it does look like like there are a few marks on it, as if it has been turned with a brace/spanner .... and there is a slight chip in the enamel on all the wheels where it looks like someone has been in with a screwdriver to prise the center section off. Maybe I will just take it into a tyre place and get them to sort it all ... but they will normally just hack away at it and make a mess of things Cheers, J.
