  1. Just been out and measured up properly. 10cm should do the job very nicely!! I'm going to be leaving here at 1pm by the way. Going to head down the A322, through Bracknell and onto the M4 that way I guess? As for the weather ... there is a f**k-off great black cloud hanging over the house looking ominous right now - Grrrr Cheers, J
  2. Bits of 3" internal diameter hose for JamesA (12-15cm I guess?)

  4. Just in the middle of fitting my PowerMeter at the moment, having fitted the ID3 last weekend. My PowerMeter also came with what I guess is some kind of harness, but I can't find any info on where it needs to go? From what I remember, it looks like it plugs into the remaining slot in the SDB ID3 silver 'control' box, but then there are 4 wires coming out of it (Grey, Black, Yellow and Brown) and I have NO IDEA where they go .... or if I even need them? I have wired up the actual wires that came with the PowerMeter (i.e. Orange to ECU pin 2, Red to Live and Black to Ground), so I'm not sure what this extra 'harness' does? I've attached a (rubbish) picture of it Cheers, J
  5. Hmmm .... Although I have just noticed some scratching on my passenger-side front wing . Not sure if it was there before though - I clean the car every week, and I'm sure I would have seen it before ! But it is dark .... I'll look in the morning! Cheers, J
  6. Digging up an old thread I know, but cheers for this link HISUPE. They are about 3 mins away from work, and they have just done the Supes' first service. Really nice guys, seem to have done everything they said they've done (Standard 3,000 mile 'A Type' service), and ... less than £145 Cheers, J p.s. Although I did get a 0.2 litre Micra as a courtesy car
  7. Errr .. Pic didn't attach first time
  8. Ahhhhh! Problem solved ... Well, not really It felt like a boost pipe, so I looked EVERYWHERE, until I saw something nasty!!! My Blow-Off valve has actually torn itself to pieces!! The flange (i'm sure that's a rude word ) where it sits in the hardpipe (held by the big circlip) has actually been shattered off the dump valve itself!!!. Luckily, I ordered an SQV off Paul E a while ago, and I am due to be picking that up tomorrow - fate huh! I've attached a pic of the resulting mess. It's hard to see, but that 'shattered' looking black ring round the outside of the hole is actually part of the DV . Cheers again for your help, James p.s. Although I don't think I have the SBC set to manual. I'll make sure I do that!
  9. Hurrah .... Mission accomplished. Thanks again for your help Ben, would have been stumped without it I reckon! One 'slight' (ahem ) problem. I set it to 1 bar and went off for a drive up the road. I had already set the warning level to 1.2 bar .. just incase. So off I go up the road, car is nice and warm, so I shoe it. 2nd turbo comes online and all hell breaks loose - Great! . I got to a roundabout and saw that I had peaked at 1.12 bar - which I guessed was ok as the unit is still learning. However .... pulled away from the roundabout - NO BOOST!!! Drove home for 5 mins with no boost at all! I thought it may be one of the I/C pipes that had blown off (it's happened before), but they all check out ok!! Turned the car off, then on again hoping that it may reset something in the ID3 ... but still NO BOOST!! . Any ideas? Is there a setting in the ID3 that I have missed that needs resetting now? Theoretically, if one of the caps I made for the now unused pipes wasn't working properly ... would that give me no boost? Thx for your help, Cheers, J
  10. Ahhh, cool. Cheers Ben - I think I've got that. How did you cap the pipes off by the way - just a bolt or something? I will do the rest tomorrow I think. Everything is installed and wired in and that all seems to work fine (I have no problem with the electrics side of things ). The wires have all been fed into the engine bay, and the solenoid itself is pretty much in position. So all that is left to do is literally just the hoses. The 2 questions I have after the end of the day are: - 1. Where do people put the little silver 'control' box? I stuck it to the 'roof' of the footwell (above all the pedals), where it was easy to tap into my boost gauge. 2. How do you fasten the solenoid to the strut tower. There was one hole there that the supplied bolt fitted into perfectly, and it seems to hold the unit in place pretty securely. But there is no 'premade' hole for the other side of the solenoid. Do you just make your own hole, or leave it as it is? Thanks for all your help ... much appreciated! Cheers, J
  11. Just reporting in at "half-time". It all seems to be going pretty well so far - although I am only working on the electrics side of things at the mo, rather than the engine-bay stuff! Ben - You don't happen to have any close-up pics of where the 2 hoses coming from the solenoid actually go do you (after they go under the air intake piping)? There is a pic on the mkiv.com guide, but it's quite hard to make out as the hoses are black. Should be much easier to see with your purple hoses? Cheers, James
  12. Eeeeep  I just read that numberplate thing! My front plate is a stick-on one! Oppps! Best get that sorted I s'pose! J
  13. Excellent ... That's a great help. I've just realised that my custom 'airbox' made by the previous owner in Japan may get in the way (http://www.bouncingbullet.com/supra/images/bn_DSCN1950.JPG) .... but I'll find a way round that Okay .... fingers crossed and let's see what happens I guess :p
  14. Heh heh! Yeah ... That could be interesting! I had an AVC-R in my old car and I had some fun trying to set that sod up!! Did yours come from Japan? I managed to get the English manuals off here last night and they certainly help to clarify the setup procedure a bit more . Cheers, J
  15. Righty, I have my SBC-ID3 and a copy of the DSBC install guide from mkiv.com for reference ... So i'm going to pile in there and see if I can install it myself. I possess an unrivalled level of muppetry when it comes to this sort of thing .... so does anyone have any additional advice/pointers as to how to go about it? I am slightly concerned about where the big black box (solenoid?) goes in the engine bay ... does anyone have any pics of there installs? I also have a PowerMeter and harness on the way - would it be a PITA to fit that after the ID3, or should I wait and do them all at the same time? Lastly ... How have people fitted the unit into the spare DIN slot? Just some kind of blanking plate with the SBC and Powermeter stuck on? Cheers, James p.s. If anyone is driving through Windlesham tomorrow, feel free to pop in and laugh at my efforts
  16. Yeah ... I was standing there with my stills camera, but I believe Ryan was filming it all! T'was a mighty slide too I'll ask him to get the movie, although I'm not sure how good it will be? Cheers, J
  17. I think they're just out of shot somewhere? :p
  18. A mighty impressive turnout that was . Even the army turned up to see us Got a few pics up here - Bouncing Bullet Gallery (under 'Fleet Feb 2004'). Nice to meet some new faces once again ... but there's still a whole load of people I didn't recognise If anyone wants a hi-res (1600x1200) copy of any of the pics on the site, drop me a mail and I will e-mail them through to you! Cheers, J
  19. Bracknell is just down the A322 off J3 of the M3. Fleet services, however, is inbetween J4a and J5 of the M3 (heading South), you can't miss it Cheers, J
  20. I'm in ... sounds good . Fleet services would be a good place I reckon? Loads of space in the 'truck' area round back where we met for the S'ton meet. Plus you've got food etc etc on the doorstep! And it's easy to find 1. Supragal 2. Rob_B 3. leett 4. Trig 5. #1 Adam 6. HISUPE 7. paul_y3k 8. Oxygene 9. JamesArup Cheers, J
  21. Yeah, it was a good laugh yesterday. Always nice to see the M3 swarming with Supras on the way down. Nice to finally meet some of you too (#1 Adam, Paul E, Dude etc) It's a shame it all got split up. I followed everyone off to JapSpeed (which was an ar3e to find!), but it sounds like it would have been better to hand about now! Anyway, got some pics up here:- Bouncing Bullet Gallery. Not sure what was going on with the focus in some of the pics Cheers, J
  22. Check out Mawby's page here Dude, should explain it all http://www.lee-mawby.net/mkivsupranet.htm Cheers, J
  23. Leaving Fleet at 1.15pm. Most people are aiming to be there for 1.00pm All the details are on this thread:- http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15720 Cheers, J Oh ... P.S. Fleet is before the Hook junction. The fleet services are around J4/4a (I always forget), and the Hook junction is J5 ... I think
  24. There we go ... Job done! Glad to have you with us J
