  1. Indeedy ... I thought today was really good! Great turnout from all of the car clubs. Good to see a few of the usual suspects again (Sheena, MrAngry, ChinaMan, TDRAPER, Cashpoint, Squirrel etc etc). And nice to meet a few new faces too (RayManUK, Rob etc). Had a nice run on the way home. My Bro was behind me in his Skyline, and apparently I spat a 6 foot flame, that burned for about 5 seconds, in the face of an Integra Type R that I ripped past (apologies if that was you ) Anyhoo ... My piccys are available HERE . I have Hi-Copies of all of them, so just drop me a mail or a PM if you want me to send you one . Cheers all, J
  2. Regarding this .. (something I also mentioned on JapUKMeets). Does anyone have the phone number for Boxill (or Rykers?), as there are a couple of 'overflow' carparks there. It may be worth calling ahead to say that we are coming and suggesting that it may be wise to open all of the overflow carparks, as we will almost certainly outgrow the main one?? In my experience, as long as you get there before 1pm (or whenever the South Mimms JapUKMeets convoy arrives) you should be able to score a parking space! Cheers, J
  3. I live right next to M3 J3, but I'm going to head to M25 J11 via the backroads and get on there with my bro in his R32 GTR. The layby just off M25 J11 is quite a well used meeting point for trips to Boxhill (normally the FD and GTIR guys). If you guys go past M25 J11, I can always hook up with you there + anyone else who is meeting at J11? I'm aiming to get to J11 for about 11.15am? Cheers, J
  4. We've had the Chimaera for almost 3 years now, and haven't had a single technical problem (the odd bit of trim has come unstuck etc, but nothing bad). Having said that, it's only taxed for 6 months a year during the Summer as my Dad is too scared of it in the Winter! The Supra is worse in the wet though I reckon! Get the sports exhuast conversion (remove the baffles), and it sounds like the gateway to hell has opened when you start the car up :flame Dev :flame Dev
  5. My Dad has a 4.0 Chimaera which I drive on a fairly regular basis in the Summer. I can safely say that my Supra would would easily beat it - but then the Supra is BPU. Stock Supra would be a close run thing, but I would probably still give the edge to the Supe. TVR is quick though, and there really is no beating the V8 noise, with popping exhaust and the roof down in the Summer I love them both!
  6. Buggernutz ... I'm going to have to bail too guys! Looks like I'm going to be holed up in work for a little while yet (goddamned Sony)! Deffo see you all at Boxhill

    So funny!

LOL ... I just watched that too! Very funny indeed. Had people in it from a load of my favourite comedy shows too - Jam, Spaced, Shaun of the Dead etc Very funny ... LOL
  8. Will do my absolute best to get there .... provided I can get out of work at a sensible time! Expect me if you see me
  9. Do you have any firewall or virus software that may be blocking the login? Or maybe you have some high security settings on your internet browser that is interferring in some way (on IE go to TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS click on the SECURITY tab and click on CUSTOM LEVEL and reset it to MEDIUM or LOW and see if that helps?) Have you tried accessing PayPal from a different PC? If it works on a different PC, then it is most likely that some software/internet setting is stopping the login process on your own PC? Hope that helps :upside: Cheers, J
  10. Ahhhh, LOL ... Good stuff. I don't remember the full numberplate, just the 'L' bit . Driver had glasses on if that helps I just assumed it was J-Spec because of the lack of bonnet vent .. was I wrong? Cheers, J :upside:
  11. Just spotted a very clean looking red L-Reg, Jspec going over the roundabout by the Harvester in Bracknell (12.30pm Thurs). I was just pulling onto the roundabout in the R32 GTR ... why is it that I always spot other Supras when I'm not driving mine Was it you?
  12. 1. Billy Connoly (older stuff - esp. "Wreck on Tour") 2. Jethro 3. Bill Bailey 4. Jimmy Carr J
  13. With the mileage thing, I found that my car had been converted from 76,000 km when it came over to 46,000 miles (I know this as the original KM's were written on the back of the ODO display unit, which you can see when you remove the dash). However, since it's been converted, it's been counting up in KM's again, and not miles . My car has now done 61,000 miles according to the readout, but it's really 46,000 miles + 15,000 km = 55,900 miles. Maybe that's what the dealer dude meant? Cheers, J
  14. I'll be there as usual (+ my bro with his new car ) Cheers, J
  15. Yeah .... I've only ever used it for music videos really, so I can't comment on that. As for how long it takes ... It all depends on what the original file format is. If the original is MPEG, then it's normally pretty quick. If the original is AVI or DivX etc .. it takes a bit longer as it has a bit more converting to do. I think you can split the file onto more than 1 DVD if needed? The other option is using 'Tmpengc' and 'VobSub' etc etc ... but that all seemed like too much hassle for what I need!! Cheers, J
  16. I'm back in tomorrow too ..... But I must be one of the few people on here that actually love their job! It's like going to Uni everyday and messing about with your mates! Plus ... I'm only there for a week, then I'm off to Austria for a bit of snowboarding! :upside: J
  17. I just use "NeroVision Express" to make my MPEG's and AVI's into DVD's. The quality is fine for what I'm using it for, and it really is a simple case of click a few buttons and sit back while it coverts and burns everything for you. Great for converting music videos into DVD's and VCD's to use in the car Hope that helps? Cheers, J
  18. That's what Ebay is for I get most of my 'gizmo's' (turbo timers, fuel controllers etc) from some dude in Malaysia on Ebay!! Loads cheaper, and he gets it here in about 4 days!! I'm sure there will be an SQV kicking about on there somewhere (new)? Cheers, J
  19. If it helps: HERE is a sound clip of the HKS SSQV on my old car (Nissan Pulsar GTI-R). It's a bit quieter than this on the Supra. And HERE is a little movie (Windows Media Player - WMV format) of the HKS SSQV in the Supra. As you can see - my I/C piping has a flange for mounting the BOV on it ... my stock BOV has been removed, and blocked off (this was done by the owner in Japan). HTH Cheers, J
  20. I have the HKS SSQV - Does the job, no stalling troubles etc etc (you probably heard it at the RR day ) I know the Japanese guys love their 'Sheepdog' BOV's. And most people I know say that they are best sounding ones they've heard too? I'm not sure if there is a 'Sheepdog' BOV available for the Supra though .. I'm sure someone will know? Cheers, J
  21. LOL ... Looks like I'm on every forum about Jap Cars ever created! LOL!! It starts to get weird when you put a space in my name though!!
  22. I got my car off Ben Linney at GT-Culture (aka Linney.org) about a year and a half ago now. It's been a great car all the time I've had it, and he always seems to have stunning examples available. I can't recommend him highly enough in my experience! AND .... Just bought an R32 GTR off him too - LOL Cheers, J
  23. Okay ... Bare with me here as I've never really done this before, and I probably don't know what I'm talking about . I did the ETTC mod on my car the other day using the guide by Jeff Lee on the MKIV.COM forum. Whilst I was doing this, I took a few photos of the process and decided to write my own guide - with pictures to help people out. This is based entirely on Jeff Lee's article, all I've really done is add some pics - so all credit should go to him . Anyway, I did this mod in about 3 hours, and it's actually a lot easier than I thought! Here is my guide anyway ... let me know what you guys reckon (and what I have got completely wrong etc etc etc!) ETTC TUTORIAL Cheers, J
  24. Happy Birthday Sheena ... Hope you get what you want Have a good day, J :upside:
