  1. Hi guys........can I have your opinions on which is the best Radar detection devise suitable for the uk. I not only need it for use in the supra but even if I had a bubble car. Finding it difficult to keep to any speed limit in any of our vehicles apart from my 3 ton digger. Radar around manchester has gone crazy and I see them nearly everyday. In fact i went to see someone in Skipton last week and as I came out of a 10 house hamlet on a country road i drove round the corner from the 30 zone towards a 60 zone and bingo ....their was a copper with a hand held laser just 200 meters from the 60 zone. Fortunately I was only doing about 35 but still over. A detector would have told me he was there. I need a devise that I can transfer to each car I use. Cheers Ray
  2. Between Xmas and New Year sounds good
  3. come on martin i need you to look at my car....
  4. Thanks a lot kirk...i would really appreciate that. Used to mess about with engines when i was a lad but not into that now...just want to enjoy driving it. Cheers Tubby, checked out your site. Far too complex for me mate, i'll leave it to someone who knows better. Never even taken a plug out of a Sup, never mind about coil packs and stuff. Regards Ray
  5. Cheers guys.....I'm up at the Steak house for the meeting on Thursday and will be in it as it runs fine apart from the said problem. Perhaps one of you guys would stick your nose under my bonnet and take a quick look. I will make sure one of the barmaids is on hand to hold a torch. See you Thursday. Ray
  6. Hi chaps.........just been for a run down to Chris wilsons to drop Ricks car off for BPU. Followed him in my 95 UK TT. Everything running perfectly on the way but on return when I put my foot down it hesitated and sounded like it was missing or backing off when the second turbo should come in. Not exactly back firing buy that kind of feeling as if it wanted more fuel but none was there. Doing it every time now. Thought it missed a beat a couple of weeks ago but only did it the once and has been fine since. Ticks over as normal, revs up fine in neutral and generally drives fine until you hit the floorboards. Nothing lit up on the dash to say fault. What do I look for. HELP please.
  7. Not second tuesday of the month otherwise any ok with me.
  8. Don't buy anything costing a lot of money from ebay with out going to pick it up and paying for it cash. There are loads of people using the system to con people (unless they are secure power sellers). Sorry for this lengthy story but it may help others from losing their hard earned dosh on ebay. I bought a water tank 4 years ago from ebay, It said bank draft or Paypal. I talked to them and they said they couldn't accept paypal at the mo because they were in dispute with them over a payment paypal owed them. Sounds plausible. So I contacted my bank about a draft and they said that it was still too risky. They banked with Barclays same as me so my bank said they will do a direct transfer into there bank acc which was as safe as you could get without going to pick it up with cash (300mile) Anyway we did the transfer and it never showed up....Total scam. Ebay went into invisible mode. The people changed their name and started selling the tank again. I'm at tight arsed farmer that would be more likely to want to dig a hole and bury in this person for good in a field so went into track the git down mode. Anyway manchester police later (rubbish 10 months) we eventually tracked them down to london. Met...superb, gave them all the details we had got and 2 weeks later they had em. Nigerian students in London, parents in Bradford. They spoke to me from the nick in london and said they were sorry and had never done this before. Guess what i said.....the DS said they sounded sorry and that it was their first time. I supplied him a list of names and addresses who they had sold this imaginary tank to totaling £10000. I had tried to stop other people buying the tank before the bids closed by posting on ebay that they were going to get scammed. I eventually were in contact with people all over the UK. They were ven selling 6 seater garden jacussi's under a different name but with exact same advert wording. Prosecuted...got all my money back within 2 months. Gave up with the bank after 4 letters of them saying that it wasn't anything to do with them even though they allowed scammers to open a bank account. Hope this makes others think about sending large amounts of money with knowing who your dealing with. PS. Loads of good engines on here.
  9. I'm with the last 2 comments. When I picked up my first UK TT from the south coast in 1999 I had never driven a Supra before. When I pulled on to the motorway I thought I would give it a push to see what it felt like and the bloody thing really wanted to go sideways. Fortunately having an little experience in the past from rallying, I was ok but if that would have been someone totally inexperienced to fast cars it could have easily been.... exit another Supra to the big car park in the sky (Kerons mighty palace) The traction control was off!... I always leave it on even though it may be inferior to the new types, it does work. And one other thing.........anyone that stops giving the Supra TT the proper respect can easily get caught out.
  10. Both nice cars but yours was the nicer. Great sound
  11. Cheers mate will look into the chassisclean company.
  12. Has anyone had their supra underbody treated in the north west (Manchester) something like waxoil or similar treatment. Which do you think is the best for a uk supra. Not just opinions but who has had it done and can recommend or not recomend a process and company. I believe its a pretty shitty job to do.
  13. Brilliant!................version30........real name...........you guessed it..........(PB) ......am I in trouble now?
  14. Radio

    Hello all !!

Bonjour Ben....your car looks great. I'm going to St Malo this week for some lovely "Fruits de Mer". Bet I don't spot a Supra but will keep my eye out.... tout a heurre mon ami.
  15. In my opinion "Scorling" has shed a lot of light on the subject and is well placed to have an unbiased visual and verbal account of this business. With so many great supra's consistently on offer on OUR club site that can be verified by US or by looking at private individual sales.....you would have to have a kami-kaze attitude to chancing a relationship and your hard earned money with anything that sounds dodgy. And if this is OR is not dodgy.............IT SOUNDS DODGY.... SO I WOULD NOT RISK IT.
  16. Pull up at any traffic lights and look around you. Porsche's. Bmw's, audi's. Common as a ford focus. You might never see another supra for months let alone have one in the same line of traffic. And let's face it most of the above drivers are hoping there isn't a supra next to them because they know. Supra's have wicked power.
  17. Get a supra greg. I've had them since 1999 and love em. I have an 18 year old uk tt and intend to keep it. In years to come they will be even rarer and if you want to sell it will maybe get more for it than you bought it for. But for me it's not the investment potential it just cos I love to drive it. They are a classic star that was over engineered. Cars like that are few and far apart. What else could you buy for a relatively small among of money and give so much pleasure. You could always be like the many and buy a common Porsche. Get a spra Greg !
  18. Dan............those lads must really like painting walls!
  19. That's me told ! ...Was only offering food for thought. I know it's a good un. Now where did I put my slippers, pipe and walking stick.
  20. Its crazy. Its the colour of my first one and possibly the best colour. I wonder if its because its not stock or the fact that the video shows it going like hell round the track??? It.. JUST might make buyers that don't know the strength and capabilities of the TT engine, think its been thrashed. Perhaps you should put in the ad "contact anyone one here that knows it and your reputation." Just a thought. I would have snatched your hand off 8 months ago and paid your first asking price. Good luck mate.
  21. Welcome Ant.....my first Sup TT was blue (storm) auto and then 9 years after selling it Iv'e got a Red TT both auto. Love the box, never been bothered about a manual but know there pretty well prized. IF you sell hold out for a good price as they are getting pretty rare. You could drive for months and months before seeing one on the road. They will only appreciate in value. Look at the crazy prices some of the Supra garages are asking. Sounds like you have found a cracker, you could sell it on here in a day and name your price within reason. Well done. Get some pictures on.! Ray
  22. Ok Dan. Cheers for that. I was mainly going so that I could pick up the fuel pump for rick (as well as the steak). So I won't bother going the 30 miles now. (didn't really want my car to get all that horrible wet stuff on it) Its tucked up in bed in the garage under a nice warm cover to keep that nasty dust off it. Rick will sort out the pump with you at a later meeting. He is waiting for his car to go for MOT before going to Chris Wilsons for its full BPU. Might have to put some of my tractor diesel in his tank so I can keep up. - - - Updated - - - WON'T BE THERE TIM
  23. Got sell it rick! Let's hope they offer you more than the cost of 3 canapés. Lot of car for the money.
  24. I can make lads. Will check in the morning to see if its on . Dan bring that pump for rick and ill bring you some cash. Cheers Ray
