1. Finally settled on some new wheels which means the BBS set that are on at the moment will be available soon. Will try and get some close ups of all wheels as soon as it stops being dark and miserable! Condition is OK but a few scuffs and scrapes and starting to look a bit worn but I am pretty picky when it comes to these things. The wheels can come with the tyres if wanted but they are pretty wrecked in my opinion (again, will get some decent photos when I can). Sizes are: Front - 9Jx18xET42 on 245x40 Goodyear Eagle F1 Rear - 10Jx18xET50 on 285/35 Goodyear Eagle F1 Similar set were sold on eBay by JM Imports recently that went for £255 so I'll be looking for something similar. Any questions please feel free to ask.
2. Went with the smaller sizes in the end. Will get pictures up when they've got tyres and are on the car. Thanks all for the help!
3. As I haven't got any power upgrades yet I am thinking of downsizing to these sizes which are available: Fronts - 235x40x18 - 8.5J + ET25 Rears - 265x35x18 - 9.5J + ET30 Also, looked up JDM Distro prices but are actually slightly more expensive than Driftworks for these! Might be because of the custom build
4. They're the UK brakes Driftworks did reckon they'd fit but I'm not so convinced now Might just go for some Rota Grids for the time being and save up for some proper CCW's
5. I don't mind a bit of stretch but I'm definitely more of a function over fashion man. The front I can do at ET30 but the rears won't go higher than ET25 on the 10.5. Looking at the JR10's (the CCW copies).
6. Alright, I've been working at this for over a month now and I've finally come round to the time that I'm gonna get myself some new wheels and tyres but trying to get my brain round the fitments! So far with the help of the guys at Driftworks, I've come to a decision on the following: Fronts - 235x40x18 - 9.5J + ET25 Rears - 275x35x18 - 10.5J + ET25 Only thing is the car is pretty standard and I don't want to get involved with too much arch work. Can anyone with a better brain than me confirm if these will be OK or if they're going a bit too aggressive?
7. Wheels and car looks great! Great price to, great buy for whoever gets them. What wheels are you changing to?
8. What sizes did you go for in the end? I've been looking at the jr-5s but unsure as to what fitment to go for without having a reference
9. Just wondering where everyone gets their wheels and tires from? Seems to be a new site every week that offers different deals but never too sure about these places. Also do people prefer going online or going local?
10. Looks great congrats! Look forward to reading it
11. Finally got some photos of the seats (apologies for quality, whole place is a bit of a mess at the moment during the move!)
12. £50 for the seats. I don't have the pictures yet as they're tucked away in the garage while moving house but I'll dig them out this weekend and get some photos. They are in good condition, no marks or loose fittings that I can find/am aware of.
13. Hi everyone, sorry been mad rushed this week and have fallen right off the pace with this stuff! Going to get the photos up today and hopefully start getting things sorted. Bumper will be off and available to be sent out/collected some point next week. Spoiler isn't ready to be replaced yet but as a lot of you are interested I'll try and get it off this weekend and go spoiler-less for a while to get it out.
14. Was just like you at that age. Advice I would give is keep working hard, keep the love for the car and keep the hope because it's worth the wait!
15. Spec on the rear spoiler is carbon blade and end plates by the way. Price wise, will be looking at £200 delivered or £150 if anyone wants to collect.
16. Hello! 17. Hello and welcome! Car looks amazing, an incredible example. Very well done!
18. Thanks everyone for the help! It does have a restrictor ring which went on when the pipes were installed by whifbitz. After a couple more drives it has shown no more evidence of any problems, even on full throttle, but I did notice the boost getting fairly high so I'm going to take it easy this week and get it in the workshop at the weekend and have a proper look. Much appreciated!
19. Ah right possibly then. Sorry for being full blown noob but anything to be concerned about? I kept an eye on pressures and temperatures the rest of the journey but didn't get anything out of the ordinary.
20. I was pushing the car to get up to speed but wasn't full throttle, say 75% Wasn't a violet jerk, felt almost like downshifting too harshly with just about a seconds worth of engine braking and no power then returned to normal. Worth saying the engine didn't change gear throughout. Car is stock apart from a decat and wastegate. The car is due a refill soon as its on about a quarter tank but it didn't feel like a fuel issue. :/
21. Took the car out on a short run earlier to the shops but on the return journey under acceleration, the car jerked and applied what felt like engine braking before returning to normal. First time it's happened and had no errors or lights come up on the dashboard but a bit concerning in case it's something sinister! Car has only just had a compression test in the last month which all came back fine so I'm not sure it's that. Car was also fully up to heat but it wasn't that long after ignition that I had to accelerate as the car park heads straight out on to a national limit bypass. Any ideas?
22. £50 is alright with me I wish I was but unfortunately no! Whereabouts are you usually? Can try and meet up with you somewhere next week perhaps if it suits?
