  1. I might just do that. I've met leon a coupla times now so might see if i can pop up one afternoon off work and find out. Does he work saturdays anyone know? Its a real bitch. They didn't get anything out of it, I sure as hell don't get anything out of it except the possibility of someone working out its been sprayed when i come to sell it and wondering the worst. Its not like its a fucking gold rolls royce with 'up yours' written on the rear windscreen.
  2. Some punkmotherfucker decided to key my black supra in a train station car park on thursday. Right down to the metal, about a foot long from the front wing all along the drivers door to the handle. Its like when Vincent gets his keyed in Pulp fiction - it would have worth him keying it just so i could catch the piece of shit doing it. Fucking with another man's automobile............ Anyway - i really should get the whole door down now as the lip along the edge is crudded up after years of neglect as it is, so anyone recommend someone with past experience in south beds? I used to know a place in Berkhampstead but only by name and now i don't know the name.... I'm thinking its gonna be about £300 for a decent job front wing/door??
  3. Thanx for the quick replies boys - looks like brute force pays off sometimes. I was paranoid about either snapping something, or etching a nice line on the paintwork...
  4. I've done the searches, linked across to other sites and so on but couldn't see a simple definition of how to remove the side repeaters. I don't need to get the whole things off, just the outer lenses.......
  5. I can't believe im so eagerly waiting for the morning just to polish my car. Its pissing me off i've been so busy this week cos i've had this stuff since monday and still i gotta get up early to do it tomorrow. Thanks for the tips - it does say it on the back of the finess-it one. Im very impressed. Its going to rub hard (oo-er) going over tomorrow. I've done it once, but after seeing the results of doing it real hard, i'm gonna go over it properly and then wax. Knowing my luck, it'll rain on friday.
  6. Well i gave it a go tonight. Its a black Supra so *everything* tends to show. I got 1 bottle of each - one handglaze for waxing it after and one finess-it to cut the top layer off which has 9 years of marks, spots and crud on it. I must say, i'm impressed. I didn't get the chance to do much because i only got home at 7.30 and it was almost pitch black by 8.30 and i had to clean it first. I wasn't sure how hard to go at first, so i took it lightly and it didn't do much. So i put on my brave trousers and went at it with a bit more vigour and sure enough i could see it taking a light topcoating off but what was being revealed underneath was fantastic. I'm going to get up at 6am and spend a few hours on it before work. Anyway, its still gonna be covered in the more lighter scratches but i think once its done and then thickly waxed it will look the dogs tits. Photos tomorrow......
  7. I've now read the container and it goes on about first going over the car with 9 micron abrasive disc and *then* working in the "finishing material" with a buffing machine..... Im wondering if it would be easier to find someone to give my car a good going over.....
  8. t-shirt it is!!! I did think about asking at the place i managed to find this 'gold dust' but didn't bother...
  9. Im going to give the car a good seeing to tonight - i got a 1l bottle of 3M Finess-it and 3m Handglaze wax. Now i know the finess it is for removing light oxisdization and fine swirl marks which my car is covered in. The question is - what kind of cloth? I was gonna get some Autoglym polishing cloths but are these 'too' smooth and fine for this stuff? I tried using other cloths before and found them leaving more swirl marks then the fluid was supposed to remove.... The car is basically covered in 9 years worth of what looks like car wash swirls. Its been owned by loaded people who probably didn't car what was used on it, so long as it was clean...
  10. Thanks mate, i did it last night. Easier than i thought. Destroyed a few spiders' holiday homes though. Wrong type of bulb though........
  11. Manual? I've configured anything from a VCR to a Windows 2000 active directory and haven't consulted a manual yet. Maybe if i had, i'd have done it all in half the time.... But who does? Cheers anyway - i thought that might be it. I'm just a lazy get.
  12. Okay. Martin. I spent 10 minutes searching using every combination of the topic and got nothing. So its either a stupid question, or......well probably a stupid question. I'd like to change my rear fogs for the same 'always on' rear lights that are on when i switch my headlights on, so i may not have double brake lights (UK TT) but at least i have double normal ones. What I don't want to do is take off various bits of plastic to find that isn't where the access is... So how do i get to the rear of the rear lights to change the bulbs? I went and bought spare tail lights (with the brake light filament in as well) to try this little task. It worked on the last car I had.
  13. Martin - was there a Korean manual N/A Aerotop GZ with leather seats and standard amp? I tried searching......
  14. It locks it. Prevents accidentally pushing the button.
  15. I find the overall alarm workings alright. Not sure how hard it would be to break in this day and age (i guess it helps there are only 400 of them and nobody knows what scorpion it is!). The most annoying thing is it sets as soon as you open the door after ignition off. So every petrol station, stopoff etc you have to lock it and unlock it to prevent it going off. The amount of times i've left a passenger in the car whilst i pop in somewhere and they've had to sit motionless for 10 minutes to halt it deafening them a 3rd time!!
  16. Nah, i figured out that might be some sort of 'lock' to stop the fob being activated by mistake. I tried it both directions and nothing. Im still gonna get a new battery just incase. I hate the alarms that give you no warning when they're gonna die - like some drain and you have to get closer and point it more at the car the lower the battery gets. Others i've found just STOP.
  17. Well solved it no thanks to the bloody toyota manual and thanks to the search and the pure luck someone posted up a similar prob. I forced a reset holding down the button at (what i think) is the sensor. Christ knows what caused that.
  18. Drove home from work as normal, got out, the alarm wouldn't lock the doors/arm. Funny i thought as had no problems till now at all. Got inside thought maybe its the battery in the fob - but the light on it is working fine and strong. It just doesn't do anything anymore. Now when i unlock the car with the key the alarm just goes off and i can't start it. What the hell am i supposed to do now? Its just totally stopped responding....... Its the standard toyota Cat 1 alarm - yes i am getting it replaced when i get a little more cash in the kitty but i can't drive it now until i work out whats up. I thought maybe disconnect the battery for half an hour????
  19. ...give it a lick to be sure...............!
  20. What the hell are all those blood-like stains!??
  21. But are you talking UK or jap? Isn't the jap restricted to 125 and therefore a lot more likely to be de-restricted right away (as thats a far more 'attainable' speed). Im pretty sure the lady who owned it in the whole 5 years before me never got to 155 and neither the people before that probably, so nobody bothered to remove the limiter....
  22. Okay, so 165 is the pub figure and 155 is the actual. Im assuming 10% either way and that'd be 16.5mph out at 165 which makes about 150 odd at worst. Still nice to know its got enough whack to go above that if it was derestricted. Its not something im likely to bother doing again though - just wanted to see what it'd do.
  23. Okay, before saying this i know that the speedo is never 'accurate' so could be 10% either way. Nevertheless.... I was on the track the other day and in a straight line put my foot down and looked how fast she'd go. This is a completely standard UK TT L-reg. I watched the speedo rise to 165 when some kind of limiter kicked in and no more throttle - just started slowing down, i don't think it'd let me accellerate until it came down a bit (i might be mistaken on this point as i was too busy admiring the white dashes turn into one continuous line). So how come the manual says the top speed on the uk one is 155, yet it easily went faster and is it widely acknowledged that the UK one is limited either on the rev limiter or speed to 165. I would of expected a limiter to simply cut the power at a certain amount of revs and 'bounce' around the top limit on and off....
  24. Yeah Weird Science was probably the first time i ever saw one! Gary had the 928 and Wyatt had the Ferrari at the end when they took their Girlfriends home. Also i think the time i saw it looked great was he picks that woman up from the mall in the middle of the film and wheelspins away or something in a black 928.
