  1. mawby - your point is taken with due respect (can't please all of the people all of the time etc). people may reflect differently after the 'heated' part of the discussion is over but i think most would agree that the ability to air one's view's without censorship is important ? i also acknowledge the caveat that some consideration needs to be used prior to posting views. faye - i take your point about having had posts deleted in the past but i must ask if we should blindly accept this to be the norm ? surely as scooter says, we are all adults and that we can make up our own minds as to what is acceptable ? i don't think anyone is going to point fingers about you standing up for keith at all - we are very aware that you have your own thoughts on this matter and therein lies the crux of the matter - i just think others are doing the same .... scooter - good post ...... i am not trying to be combative but constructive in deeming what extent mods should have to step in or not.
  2. why don't we have the thread resurrected so that more people can actually decide whether it was worth moderating and to what degree the mods should step in. i am sure they would rather not have to step in constantly as well and we are mostly mature enough to arrive at a consensus. defamatory comments sometimes ride the thin line between free speech and forced moderation. my 2p ...
  3. very sorry to hear this mate - hope you get it sorted without much problem. someone should break every bone in their body !
  4. have padded the boot rubbers but guess i may have to do so again. will also try the wd40 method. many thanks.
  5. good morning people - now i know what the normal boot rubber creak sound is like but on my way to work this morning, i heard a different kind of groaning/creaking sound that seemed to come from either just behind me or near the boot hatch (no aerotop jokes pls! ). i was just wondering if the entire door of the rear boot hatch can be slightly loose and if so, is there an easy way to rectify this ? i have obviously changed the rubbers a while back and re-tightened the roof (unless it came loose lately) so am just trying to eliminate any other possible causes ? many thanks in advance. p.s. if MattH is reading this - pls refrain from the usual aeroflop jokes .......
  6. now stop scaring the sheep and go back to work !

    Newbie!

hi gunner and welcome (pls don't tell me you are an arsenal fan ?). i suspect the answer to your egt question will depend where the probe has been inserted. you will need to find that out first before determining what the accepted (?) temps should be. HTH ...
  8. why bother - they can go and say what they like on their forums (they tend to spout on a bit anyways ... ). as far as i'm concerned, we don't have anything to prove, i believe the onus is on them to do less talking and more racing (if they even know what that is of course ) as they have not of late (unless i am seriously mistaken) provided a single viable contender for the under 11 sec bracket ? they have to prove that they too are fast !
  9. congrats honkey - looks like a sweet job .......

    My car

paul - to be fair, i think michael has a good point. as far as modding a car - too many different people have differing ideals when it comes to modding. in respect of mods - i think the market of late has shown us that it is a very personal thing with people, hence the difficulty with making back money spent on mods. most of us are aware that by going down the modded route, there is a very good chance that you will not be in a position to re-coup your costs - this is merely a function of the market place. as to the desirability of your car, i'm sure that a relatively (?) low-mileage Uk 6spd will fetch better money but the question is whether in real world terms, will it fetch significantly better money (like what you think it's worth)? so many things are co-dependent on achieving this price ie potential buyers wanting to have done exactly the same mods, the market-place on the day etc etc i just feel that if you are happy with the car and feel it is worth 16k to you, then so be it (especially since you aren't selling it). with respect to everyone else's opinions, potential buyers may not feel it worth that much and you have to respect that as well. i hope that when you do sell it, that it fetches what you think it is worth but i am just saying that you should be prepared for people not to share your views on it's inherent worth. in the end, needs must ..... as for the performance issue, i don't think i am in a position to comment ........... all of the above is just my 2p
