  1. I bought the car without the shroud then decided to buy some electric fans instead. Then decided to just have them fitted when I put the new engine in over the winter. The sensor is a proper syvecs sensor from the website but it's been set up by Ryan so I cant imagine he left this out for whatever reason unless it's not important for the engine to run properly. The screen was installed after it was mapped so could he have felt it wernt needed if I didn't have a gauge to monitor it?
  2. It looks like a huge whifbitz one and was listed as a whifbitz one in the for sale ad. I cant upload anything as im on my phone but I have a shot of the bay in my garage mate you can see the sensor location.
  3. Quality! I was hoping something like this to be produced to buy. I suppose it could be wired to a micro switch that flicks it up at wot.
  4. Ive just been out for a slow drive around town and after about 10 minutes the inlet temp reached 68 degrees and stayed at that temp for the remainder of the drive and this was completely off boost and idling doing mostly 30mph. Water temp is 80-90 degrees. After feeling the pipes before and after the intercooler the inlet to it feels warm but the intercooler outlet feels pretty cold and not hot at all. The pipe that comes up behind the radiator though where the sensor is feels hotter than the turbo outlet pipe.
  5. Haha yeah I saw the reports to stay indoors and drink plenty of water which is a bit extreme. It's not mega hot but I meant during this time of year compared to winters freezing temps. Thanks for your input David I am indeed still driving without a shroud, tbh I completely forgot that as its never had a shroud during my ownership but I'll source one soon or fit the electric fans I have.
  6. Thats what I said to him ha, I will see you all next month anyway Raven, are you coming also cause we can drive up there together?
  7. Not even if you was to drive it hard then come to a slow cruel in this present climate?
  8. Does anyone know when the next big meet is at Bluewater? Like the one I think was Febuary this year when the whole carpark on all levels was packed with every jap car imaginable does anyone remember? I told a few mates and they wanted to come up next time but said they didnt want to feel out of place if they turn up in there cars and its all Supra's.
  9. Ok mate thanks for the help, I will go out shortly and note the temps as different speeds, boost and when stopped. It maybe that ive been driving hard then come to a slow cruel in traffic and then noticed it was 70 degrees as I tend not to look at dials else if im booting it but I will check this and let you know.
  10. Could these sensors both be wired into the Syvecs and Toucan display or do you mean a tempory sensor just to test efficiency? In the for sale ad hes listed it is a Whifbitz intercooler but that could be another lie to sell the car. Looks pretty decent though I will check the Whifbitz ones out in a second.. I'll look into a new blanket and heat wrapping the manifold and downpipe at some point but maybe on the new engine. This maybe a dumb question but will it be a good idea to heat wrap the intercooler piping to stop the metal heat soaking or would it just do the opposite and not let heat out?
  11. Yeah that would be alot easier than taking bits off. I'll try that in a bit and test the temp difference in pipes. I know it gets very hot under my bonnet for some reason, not sure if this is a supra thing and ive only ever had small cars before but I feel the heat on my face instantly when I lift the bonnet after a long drive. Maybe a turbo heat blanket would help this?
  12. Could it be a faulty sensor by any chance? Or could the sensor be getting a reading from the intake pipe rather than the air passing through it? I highly doubt the intercooler will be blocked, or do you mean the outside air flow that runs through the fins? What other cooling components can I check first?
  13. Thanks for the input guys. The sensor is mounted just before the throttle body however, the part of the sensor the lead comes out is almost touching the top rad pipe. Could this interfere with readings as the pipe gets very hot? I also have a 4" intercooler.
  14. Yeah I will have to look into that and maybe some ducting also. For some reason the oil temp on my Toucan doesnt function, im not even sure where Ryan adds the sensor to check ive even got one but it must have for the rev limit saftey feature. I would have thought if the intake temp is at 70 and also water temp is sitting around 80 after 10 minutes then oil temp should be warm enough also?
  15. Ah thats good then. Although Ryan mapped the engine to limit at 3000rpm until oil is at optimum working tempreture so I cant do that much harm, but in this kind of climate it doesnt take long for that rev limit to dissapear.
  16. I like to drive when I drive Even if it is 10 minutes. Off boost and cruising its about 30-40. That must be about right then for this time of year if yours shows that too. I just assumed as it was the maximum number on the screen dial that it must be alot higher that its meant to. I would like to add some modification to lower the temp as 70 to me seems quite hot for the inlet temp.
  17. The clock uses the same circuit as the cigarette lighter by looking at the manuals. Its a Blue wire with a red stripe I believe.
  18. ACT on my Toucan display shows around the 70 mark after driving for 10 minutes or so, is this about right or should it be a lower?
  19. Advertised on here?

  22. Keep it mate. Or put to one side and start something else. Will be a shame to break IMO.
  23. Was it new when fitted and who installed it? They need breaking in by doing a series of low speed manoeuvres which if not done you will get some strange behaviour mate.
  24. Yeah I see. My coolers are for the transmission but I don't have any engine oil coolers. Maybe something for the new build.
  25. Nice work on the ducting, I'm thinking of mounting my coolers in the side duct instead of behind the intercooler. Looks smart
