  1. Hi, I would start by saying since the age of about 10 I fell in love with the supra and set myself a goal, I will own a supra one day! As ive grown older I have changed my goal slightly and want to build a supra capable of producing times that would have put my dads old 70s blown challenger to shame. Well the time has come where I finally have a job worthy enough to get this project started. My goal is to be able to reach the 9 second mark what ever it takes, and drive home again without changing anything. Im currently saving £200 a week to put straight in to the project. I thought it would be a good idea to sign up to a forum for some advice and I have to say that im a little bit intimmidated! There are so many people in the UK with a modded supra and I just feel like my £200 a week is pocket money lol. I want to build this over the next 3 or 4 years which is a total of £50,000. Now although I may get laughed at, does this seem stupid? Am I talking complete nonsense? Unless something really unlucky happens to me then it will definately happen! Ive already invested £3000 in the block and am getting there slowly bit by bit. Has anybody out there been in my position before with a build like this? If so well done lol.
  2. I was gunno go for 8-1s . Thought this would be best for normal pump fuel with a big ass turbo to avoid detonation. Im not going for mega numbers but wanna be around the 1200 mark. Aggressive 280 cams, can live with lag. Just want something that will piss my mates 9 second chevy
  3. Im going to stick to the stock 8.5-1 CR and was going along the lines of a gt47-88 with 1.08 housing twin scroll, also I want to try and stick to shells V-power! I probably will go with a GTE as I want ultimate reliabilty as well as power but if I can get some solid proof that they dont make no difference then I will just use the GE.
  4. Hi all, I need an answer on a decision that ive been stuck on for quite some time now. GTE or GE block for drag racing? Im building a drag motor that will be used on the street occasionally. The new car will have a 6 speed GTE engine in but the block I have at the moment which I plan on using is a GE. I want to build a block up so I can swap it straight in with the minimum of fuss. Shall I use this GE or just use the GTE in the car and have it off the road for a while whilst built? Thanks.
  5. Well the new car im getting is a 6 speed GTE so i`ll just use that. Just would have been nice to build it first so I can drop straight in with the minimum of fuss. I`ll see what peoples opinions are on oil squirters on high HP engines...
  6. Nice job there mate, just hope the glue holds after a couple of months on them concaved parts.
  7. Thats exactly what I thought mate, im more of a fan of acceleration than top speed. Well im ordering my new crank from titan in a coupe of weeks so i`ll speak with them then. P.S will send you the cash for those mains on saturday.
  8. Thanks bud, where bouts you located if you dont mind me asking?
  9. Yeah thats cool although im in the middle of saving for a my new crank but if the price is good then yeah How many miles roughly on it mate?
  10. Im sorry but the lowest I can take is £100 as I paid double this less than 2 months ago. I might use it I dont know yet but if the cash comes up its yours
  11. Thanks for the great advise sir! Im glad im a member on here
  12. +1 See im kinda getting mixed opinions on this which is why I brought the GE block in the first place. I had a thread on another forum explaining my theory about the resistance against the bottom of the piston from the oil as such as such. I here of alot of people on high hp cars running without the squirters but a few people have said its a stupid and ridiculous idea. If someone can offer me some nice clean advise on my build I would much appreciate it. If this block can be used with out over heating on highway pulls etc. I`ll get this block built with in the next few weeks. To be honest I think the longest i`ll ever be WOT is 30 seconds. Is this enough to melt pistons?
  13. Ahh, I was kind of deciding to get a modded PHR one or not
  14. Im sorry I should have mentioned that my goal is 1200WHP. This is a full out drag build. I need th GTE block sir
  15. LOL. Anyone have some spare oil squirters?
  16. £200 for a bag of skittles is aighhht! 2 options- A) Leave it on here for £100 hoping someday someone cracks there GE block and needs a spare fast! lol. 2) Make a nice coffee table/6 x wine bottle holder
  17. Sorry my mistake I thought you were on about a GE vvti
  18. Someone was gunno buy it for £100 but lived in the highlands and shipping was £92 so he didnt get back to me. Its just the cost of keep advertising it on there. hopefully someone can offer me a GTE to put all my goodies in
