  1. Yes the level and colour is ok. Its just blocking up after 20 seconds of running. I need to unblock it but this means something has to break or wear to block up in the first place.
  2. Can anyone confirm these gearbox`s are the same before I buy it and do the swap. Thanks
  3. See if we lived on the moon this would have never happened!
  4. Sorry when I say cheap I dont mean made out of old clocks and washing machines but something that dont cost as much as a 6 speed conversion. Just a reliable box without going over the top really. Is there not a rebuild kit that will hold up to that power?
  5. Well tomorrow I shall clean out any debris from the trans sump and un block the filter and see how it drives. If it continues to break clogging back up with clutch material then I need the cheapest reliable box that will handle the extra power. Any cheap box suggestions capable of 600ftlbs?
  6. See ive searched and couldnt find anything on built a340 box`s. Where can I get these kits mate?
  7. I know, even tho I cant get hold of him Simon there is nothing that could tell this was going to happen. Its just my luck! Im thinking of staying off the road for a few months and saving for a BL as a second hand one is still prone to failure. Which ever route I take do I need to get the car tuned or calibrated with the syvecs or anything or is it just a matter of swapping it over and everything will work?
  8. Can anyone confirm this is the same one as apparently there about 20 different types for different years
  9. I just phoned an auto specialist and he said the same thing that the oil pickup is getting blocked. I have the gears for about 20 seconds then nothing. I`ll try dropping the sump tomorrow and see what I can find. Hopefully it will work as normal with it unblocked.
  10. No just a stock UK spec one. UPDATE: Just took the car round the block to see if its any better after cooling down and I lost all gears halfway round and just had to push the F****** thing back on to my drive. No Reverse no drive no 1st or 2nd no nothing. BLAST!
  11. I think it was single before that but not as much power going through it. Im gunno ask tomorrow a trans specialist and see what my options are. It might be worth going for a built th400 as he probably has dozens of these laying about in which case I just need the bellhousing. Probably.
  12. What about an a340e rebuild kit as found on ebay? I know an automatic transnission specialist that could do the work for me so this would be the cheapest option I suppose.
  13. Well thats good news, but will it happen again? Can you get replacment stronger parts for this box or is it just the th400 or 6 speed conversion..
  14. Apparently the syvecs lowers torque to a safe level during gear changes for a split second to prevent any damage. Im just not sure what could be causing this and how much a new auto box costs! Or whether its just the converter slipping im clueless on this.
  15. Im not even sure how to do this, Caseys phones been off or sounds more disconected since the sale :s
  16. Ok this is a serious problem now I just took it back out and got to a set of traffic lights on a hill, took my foot off the brake in D and it started rolling back as if it was breaking its ability to hold. When accelerating to pull away it was reving to 3-5k rpm then not moving then suddenly kicked in a gripped spinning the wheels. After the hill just stayed in 1st gear and all the way home struggling to find gears and constant high reving. Fluid is bright red. Any other suggestions as I only brought the car saturday and am quite frusterated! Thanks
  17. I was just on my around town when I realised my car wouldnt upshift from 2nd, no matter how gently I applied the throttle it just wouldnt change. It would go from 1st to 2nd and vice versa but no more. After pulling over and turning the igntition off then on again it was fine which is a bit strange. The only thing I done whilst sitting at some traffic lights was pulled the top part of the dash out a couple of inches as I realised there were no screws holding it in, the bit with the mileage display in. Any ideas what could have caused this anything to do with loose wires behind the dash or something more mechanical? Thanks. UPDATE: Ive now lost ALL gears completely having try again round the block and had to push it back! I bet my neighbours are having a right laugh.
  18. Ok cool becuase I wanted to take mine off to polish up and just wondered. Can you let me know if you get any and what price? Thanks.
  19. Do you need to replace the gaskets after taking these off?
  20. Jesus I think people hope for too much these days, I mean whats a bit of re sculpting and smoothing take? Just a bit of motivation and basic skills surely these bumpers cant be so bad that people should avoid them. Im sorry but I just think its pure lazyness if you cant be bothered to make a bumper fit nicely. No matter what company it comes from I would always want to rework it to make sure it looked completely perfect from all angles. I would start worrying if it was made from cheese not because a hole is in the wrong place or it smells a bit funny.... I would buy it.
  21. I thought using the correct tools would be the first thing to try lol. Well in that case use the proper tool and let us know how you get on. If this fails try shouting at it whilst using hands to form rude gestures then see how you feel.
  22. Can you not heat up the area around the bolt? I dont know nothing about these but I once spent days trying to get a nut undone on a track rod end then discovered a fair bit of heat expanded the nut and it came off easy. Would the same princible work heating what ever acts as the nut?
