  1. Did you get this box in the end Jamesy?
  2. I had that same problem taking mine off the other day. Came out into my boot like a hose pipe after removing that first bolt inside the boot lid lol. Project coming along nicely
  3. I have the BCs on my car, can anyone reccomend a good damping set up for strip use?
  4. Has anyone got pictures of the green ones installed?
  5. Theres alot of answers here but he never mentioned what engine? But assuming he means a 2JZGTE could be anything. Could be 400hp if it revs to 15000rpm. Stay below 700hp and 7500rpm and you should be ok..
  6. If it makes you feel better im doing this and crapping myself too Just follow the guide as its a blimin good write up and we should be fine... Just one question (and probably more), If I relocate the battery to the boot at the same time, can I just take the group of cables off the positive terminal and join to a piece of 0 Gauge using a distribution box then run it to the boot and clamp back on to the positive terminal? Or do I have to extend each cable?
  7. Yeah basically if I disconnect my whole engine and have sat on the bench for a while whilst touching up on the bodywork im hoping to just plonk straight in connect everything up with it running as it was before...
  8. It could well be traction control. I might just leave the abs and that cluster there until a later date and get one of them fancy covers but to the front of the engine bay everything can go. Electrical wise will unplugging or disconecting anything muck up the ecu or any other stored information?
  9. Oh yeah here - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?270275-My-attempt-at-a-wire-tuck!*-Started-fitting-FFIM*&highlight=attempt+wire+tuck Mine still looks different from yours it seems like ive got 2 lots of brake lines and servos :S
  10. In my opinion a car cant be chavy! I think the term "chav" gets thrown about too much these days at anything. A chav should be the label of hooligans that hang about in large groups causing a nuisance and generally being off key and loud. I hate the way you can be classed as a chav for wearing sportsware for the gym or having a loud stereo because you like bass. A "chav" should be kept as an adjective to describe a bad mouthed youth with an attitude problem that hangs about at your local corner shop spitting everywhere shouting abuse at random people. More chavs drive M3s than supra`s so not really is the answer
  11. Thanks Fosta any extra info is gold So hodge, I have a large cluster of junk in the passenger side top of the engine bay looks like brake lines, is this the abs? If so many people dont have this so is this even safe to remove or just for show purposes? I can do pretty much all the work myself but what would you reccomend moving to still look de cluttered but be safe?
  12. How did you get on with this and did you move everything you wanted to? Im stripping the engine out of mine soon and want to get rid of so much stuff that I dont even know what it is! If I post a picture can someone tell me what I can and cant remove? Thanks
  13. Yeah I used a socket on a universal joint on a mega long extention bar but didnt think to tilt the box..
  14. Well good on ya matey glad its all sorted
  15. Wow, well the fluid lookes the same colour and there were black speckles all over the filter and a bit of sludge in the bottom of the oil pan but not that bad! Im gunno take it to an auto specialist tomorrow and see if he can play around with it or beef it up, if not I guess i`ll have to save for a Titan.
  16. Well this looks like the problem guys - Pictures are not really good but you can see the black grime on the filter. After inspecting the transmission fluid I found some debris like thin springy fibres and the fluid was a bit browner than what it looked like when I wiped the dip stick. I decided to go ahead and remove the transmission and get another one. It wernt so bad at first removing everything except the top two bolts were a bit of a nightmare to get to. The only problem we had was the wire connectors we THOUGHT were all removed turned out to be a disaster. As we slid the transmission backwards and slowly started lowering it we realised there was still a fat old connecter still needed seperating! All of a sudden the box weighed 3 times as much and thats when things turned bad, trying to hold the thing on my shoulder the gear box slipped sideways wedging me to the side of the pit bursting open a halogen bulb with fluid pouring all over me. We had to find whatever we could using our legs to prop bits of wood up so we could have a damn rest for 5 seconds this thing really was getting heavy. After getting the box the right way up I managed to get the connecter free and it was off! :D:D As much as it sounds amusing now I thought I was gunno have to pull a swiss army knife out and start hacking away at this bit of loom. Well here it is anyway 3 hours and a dozen towels later -
  17. DAMN! I need a J3 with a 4 bolt output flange. Never mind dude thanks anyway.
  18. When it comes to supra tech I suppose I am being spoon fed Sorry dude i`ll read the whole thread... EDIT: Just see where the "J" is on the bell-housing so if steveR can confirm that the lexus g300 trans he has, has J1 or J3 on it?
  19. Ok well it sounds like the right one, just how do I know if it has a J1 or J2 bell-housing? Also apart from the mechanical side of the swap what the electrical side like is it just a simple plug? Thanks for all your help guys...
  20. Yeah exactly what I thought. I thought the TH400 would be a good idea as I can get these for nothing and I thought it was just a case of cutting the bellhousing off and adapting the a343 one on to it. I dont mind if its an auto or manual but I think a Titan box will still be the cheaper option than to go manual. For now im not going to bother cleaning the filter out as somethings definitly broke to block it up in the first place so im going to look out for a cheap low mileage auto and just run it at low boost until I can afford a built one. As for brake boosting if thats what its called I tried it once to see if it made a difference in launch but that was the day before and it didnt seem too bother it, but you never know... Do you know if steveR`s lexus box will fit as a replacement?
  21. Ive not had it apart yet I was gunno do this today. It definitly dont sound clear tho as its blocking up.
