  1. Paint brushes! More like a roller mate lol.
  2. Well its certainly different! Not my cuppa tho tbh.
  3. Yeah post a pic matey will be good to see, although im not too keen on wrap myself.
  4. The best thing to do is join talkaudio forum or simular as it could all end up sounding terrible if the box is all wrong for the system. Vas? Fs? Qes? These are all inputs that you must consider when making your own box mate. Even displacment of the ports if not compinsated for could be catastrophic! I see what your saying about drawing people in so i would say aim for a box tuned to 35-40hz.
  5. You could hear my single 18" sub from very FAR away! Infact I think it gave more of a rumble at distance than standing right next to it. I would highly reccomend matching the rms wattage of the sub with an amp or your forever going to be heating up those coils! Box design is 90% the most important part to pumping out tremendous amounts of noise in a system. You can get just as much sound from a single 12 in a well designed box than multiple 15s in a quick lash up box. I suggest finding someone that has computer programing to design a box that will benifit the most from the sub of choice. In my astra (which is bigger than a supra inside) I needed 16 cubic feet internal box volume for my enclosure and had to build the box in my car from the inside. Also I had it tuned at 28hz because I wanted to move buildings not just send 50hz + notes through peoples brain giving everyone around it a headache. Theres so many questions to ask yourself before even thinking of cutting that mdf. Do you want low notes that move the earth and can be heard miles away or high notes that will register alot higher on a db reader but not good on the ear. Also do you want to listen to whole songs or just burp the notes 5 seconds at a time? The more info you can provide the closer we can get to a kickass system!
  6. That looks like some kind of blue carbon fibre, also expensive Im really liking the liquid yellow at the moment its just such a lovely colour having seen another clio with it today.
  7. Well it finally looks like my car will be drivable for this months meet But im not coming until its painted
  8. It looked nice what ever the colour was but I didnt think it had blue in it Edit: Now I see it
  9. Just looked into this colour but its not what I visualised lol. I thought that was just black? Nice, but not my cup of tea to be honest I got my gearbox coming thursday so I will fit this over the weekend then its straight to the spray booth for the bloke to make any final finishing off, then to prime and paint in whatever colour im feeling on that day
  10. The 25000w burp on the subs will be peak, probably around 5000rms so 1 amp for each sub.
  11. Basically this - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?270305-Just-a-little-vid-of-my-sound-system! I had it in the boot first and recorded 142.0db then after walling it off making it completely sealed off I managed a 151db! A huge difference, in fact that much of a difference I nearly crapped my insides the first time I heard it. Have you considered box design also?
  12. Yeah its definately different mate but if you want the most from the subs you should really wall them off. Is 5000w your aiming for RMS or peak?
  13. W7s are suppose to be good never heard them tho. I had an AA mayhem18 and that was nice although not good enough for what you probably want lol.
  14. Ive always been in to my spl stuff but as much as I love it I wouldnt do it again. Not in the supra anyway. Good choice in equipment tho. Do you have any pictures or videos of your current setup?
  15. Lol I wasnt having a go at ya btw Its just so frustrating trying to find a colour that works and has not been done! Is there such thing as black with a slight bluey tinge from certain angles like you get white with a tinge of blue but with black? Suppose thats kind of different but dont know if it exists.
  16. Thats one serious looking turbo! And dog
  17. Yeah thats ok then. I should be able to modify my cooler and just keep part of it as it still has a bracket and is in faily good condition. I just wanted to see if anyones done this before. Thanks
  18. I could move it but I would prefure a smaller design or just modify it slightly. So if I take the jubilee clips off the rubber hose thats holding it on now it wont explode just trickle out slightly right?
  19. :wtf:Everytime I think of something that will look nice it seems its already been done! He even has the same kit as me! Im running out of ideas and getting quite annoyed to be honest.... I think I should do what I think looks best and settle for what I want otherwise im never gunno finish this car. To be honest theres nothing like this where I live and im not trying to build a completely unique show car I just want my baby back on the road and looking half decent. And mplavery if I do decide to go liquid yellow I never even saw your car before Rob said about the colour so im not copying you this is just how I visualised my supra...
  20. Theres one parked round the corner from me, its hard to picture what it would look like on a supra but think it will look nice and really make the arches stand out alot more than a dark colour. I do prefur my bright colours I just didnt wanna go with white.
  21. Yeah thats it, ive hardly driven the car! It was just to neutralise the engine bay as black will go with any colour as im undecided still.
  22. No not that yellow they need re doing it was just to get rid of the red previously. Its just called liquid yellow I think like here - http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x198/PaulBryce/DSC_0037.jpg
  23. Me neither lol, tbh im just happy its nearly in working order and trying to get it on the road before christmas. Once the cars running then I can start tarting it up a bit. Im still unsure about the colour as matte will be a nightmare to maintain so I might go for a glossy light colour. Quite like the yellow at the moment used on the new clio.
  24. Also can I just disconnect the cooler or is that part of the system pressurised?
