  1. No there was just a few little wires that I connected too for power and had to cut the block off and twist the wires toether for the speakers. I think someone said there should be a bit of loom that plugs into one of the white connectors at the back?
  2. Just bumping this as I need to plug a satnav in and need to know where to connect the wires to? I could bodge it and go straight to the battery but then it will have to be done again properly at some point.
  3. Ive been looking at electrical diagrams but as mentioned before I havent a clue when it comes to elctricals. I need to connect my stereo up properly as there is no wiring for it and thought there must be part of a loom that plugs into one or two of the connector blocks on the left side of the transmission tunnel. At the moment my stereo is wired completely wrong by a previous owner and has wires T'd into other parts of the loom all over the place and it just looks horrible. Also I need to connect my cigerette lighter up for a satnav asap as there is no wiring for this what so ever. Is there a cable for this that plugs in somewhere? Thanks.
  4. Tbh I dont know nothing about the functions of ECUs and there saftey features or how they work which is why I take the car to a knowledgable person to have the work carried out, however I do have a reasonable idea about basic mechanics and can carry out most tasks to rebuild or change an engine im just useless when it comes to the electrical side of things. I just thought this forum was the perfect place for what may sound like stupid questions, but in all fairness may help for simular problems that may occur with other members in the future.
  5. I thought the sizes were for wear of the journals over the years and assumed you just get the next size bearings and have your crank reground to the same size.
  6. Research what? I thought this was the perfect place with the amount of knowledgeable people on here that can maybe help me. Do you know what it could be? I didnt think it had an issue but after the second time this has happened I know that it may well be an issue.
  7. Thanks I guess it could be something ecu related as I think after switching off then back on it stopped doing it. It seems to be after hitting the rev limiter when shifting manually I get it and thought it could be some kind of limp mode that needs the engine switching off then on again
  8. I just found this page from google and this is happeng to me also....Oh wait, this is my own thread Anyone??
  9. I thought the drdrdrdr noise was normal, mine makes this noise all the time right accross the rev range when boosting.
  10. Hey, no I dont have a clue but my car has just started doing it Except mine accelerates and pulls fine its just on deceleration I get this pulsing as the revs are dropping.
  11. After going for a little drive and after some short bursts of acceleration ive noticed the car decelerating in an irregular motion. I can noticably feel this and see it on the rev gauge as if the cars running out of petrol and can see the needle dipping as its going down. It doesnt do this all the time but if im doing say 40mph then decelerate it starts doing it but I dont know why. I dont know if it could it be a faulty sensor I just havent got a clue. The car is being mapped by Ryan next week so it can be sorted then I guess but its just bugging me why this is happening all of a sudden and if its safe to drive? Thanks.
  12. Im mounting my fusebox next to the battery so I guess I need to run a fuse in a single piece of 0 gauge cable from the battery going to the starter then T off some 2 gauge for the fuse box? fusebox.
  13. How did you modify the water pump to take a` high pressure fitting did you chop the steel pipe off and thread inside that or drill the hole thing out and thread the casting? Or does it just unscrew?
  14. I'll check out which one it is but my main concern is the trac pump and pipe work. Can I remove this?
  15. Ahh. Well thats something else that I didnt know How do I know if the trac butterfly is connected? Is there a fuse I can check or pull out and see if the syvecs TC still works?
  16. I have the stock sensor and a syvecs water temp in the top rad pipe but my syvecs is a piggy back as the stock ecu still controls the autobox. I remember Ryan saying I need the stock sensor in place to keep the stock ecu happy but could I just have one sensor sending information to both ecu's?
  17. Thanks guys I like the idea David's gone for so i'll go for that method as it looks nice and stock. What gauge cable did you use for the starter and fusebox? And also whats that little switch for on the strut plastic thing?
  18. I noticed with my throttle body that there is only one cable going to it which is obviously the throttle cable. should there be two with the traction butterfly connected? Can I remove the trac pump and all the pipework right next to the abs system?
  19. Im seeing Ryan Tuesday to get the car mapped so i'll ask then. Its all the stuff at the top rightof the engine bay next to the abs system its just too much pipe work for me especially if its not needed. Also the trac butterfly can go if its not needed either.
  20. Exactly how I measured mine and it does sit perfect there. I was just wondering if I need a welded bracket and cross bar locking it in to pass an MOT?
  21. I measured out the nice little gap behind the rear seat that the battery, fusebox and universal washer bottle will fit exactly but wondered if this the best way for me. I want to keep the space saver and tools incase I get stuck with a flatty somewhere plus it helps with traction
  22. Hi folks, Im just wondering if anyone can post pictures of there battery position in the boot. Im wanting to do this myself keeping the space saver and tools but also want the battery position to look as clean and stock as possible, and prefably not on show. I know theres space directly behind the seat has anyone done this? Thanks
