  1. I'm in for one. Miss my supra so need to be able to see one everyday
  2. Exactly the same thing went through my mind
  3. Cheers for the advice guys. I've got a drill already (didn't think to use it) so going to invest in a polishing kit since they seem to cost next to nothing
  4. I bought a set of cam covers as the ones on my car are caked in old oil, paint and general dirt. So easier to buy as second hand cleaner set. So I started cleaning the second set and they are polished under the dirt on them. I'm cleaning by hand with metal polish and a cloth and its taken about and hour to get this far I'll be happy if I can get them looking like this But would prefer a better finish. Does anyone have any tips/cleaning products they recommend to clean them up. It'll be done by hand as I don't own and polishing tools and don't want to buy any just for this. I don't mind putting in the elbow work but if there's an easier way by hand I'll happily try it
  5. I tried wedging it between some breeze blocks and started "tapping" away and ruined the other set. Think I'm going to give up and try and buy some working ones or give it to a garage to do. It's seems like the boots were a bit too big for the hole lol
  6. I've got a 17" (I think) frame mountain bike. Like suggested take the front wheel off and it fits in. Just fits in though lol
  7. What size socked did you end up using? Did you use a deep socket? Also did you use a vice to keep it upright? I'm going to have a bash with my other set and see if I can get them sorted
  8. That's the method I was using from clubslexus. And I'd didn't end well for mine lol. Hopefully you will have better luck with yours
  9. I done the same. How are you trying to get the metal collar in the hole? I read to put a socket over the rubber to give it a bash. All that done was bend it!
  10. Wonder where the more expensive parts went. Ebay or owner getting another?
  11. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?285694-My-mate-just-sent-me-these-pictures!-(&highlight=Crashed Looks like this one to me. Has holes where the spoiler would be
  12. Yeah that's the ones mate. I done mine with a trolley jack and axle stands, you don't want to run a risk of the jack failing and having a supra land on you
  13. Yup my money is on subframe bolts. Get them torqued up. I done mine. Only 1 was "loose" on the near side. It literally required about 90-180 dehree turn to click off on the torque wrench. Solved my clonking noise
  14. Hahaha. Sorry Ed mate but this thread gets me every time
  15. N/a driver here just think of it this way. We have less parts to fix on these old cars - - - Updated - - - N/a driver here just think of it this way. We have less parts to fix on these old cars
  16. Slip him an extra £20 (however I'm not promoting the idea, just saying I've heard about it) could always purchase some cats.

  18. Love it. Such a beautiful machine. Well done that man
  19. If you can get it looking like that white one you posted then get it done carbon as it looks the mutts nuts. If you want it done cheap, as in carbon wrap, it'll probably look cheap in that case I would go black
  20. Yeah this interested to know as I'm looking to get my rear upper arms done so might as well get coilovers on while the wheels are off
  21. Thanks very much. Very informative and helpful. Was going to contact Chris for the refurb kit on Tuesday will now get some stainless pistons now too. Thanks for the links. Hopefully I'll get these done over the next week or so in my free time
  22. I've stripped down my rear j-spec 1 pots and removed as much surface rust as possible. I'm replacing the seals, pistons and brake lines with braided lines. When I removed the pistons some rust and dirt dropped into the piston cylinder can I wash it out with brake cleaner or should I use something else? Also how do you clean out the sliders/slider cylinder of the grease stuff that's already in there? Going to order this for the sliders http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200854449661? Also is there a certain paint to use on brake calipers as I want to paint them black to tidy them up. Cheers
