  1. holy piece of plastic batman! how do they justify that:mad:
  2. how much was it? as mine has come off and it would sound like i need a new one.
  3. have similar probs myself..... 1, o/d light flashes 2, powermeter go's nuts (1183 BHP on the drive) 3, power steering same at speed 4, active spoiler also go's nuts(go's up, come's down yadda yadda yadda) thought it was speed sensor but speedo still works? had the dash in bits (again) today cant find a loose plug/connection. going to do the "waggle test" on the ECM tomorrow sorry just thought......not much help to you, but will post if find anything.
  4. if i leave the VFCC as is i.e. OVERBOOST = 18.5psi and fuel cut as is (i.e. at 8) why does my SBC-id show a peak hold of 19.6 psi ?
  5. hi all, any tips/pointers of the best way to flush and refill the cooling system? checked out MKIV.com tried there method but it doesn't seem to empty the whole system
  6. whats the thing on the right side of the gear box under the car...looks a bit like a fuel filter????
  7. thanks guys, thats my saturday sorted out....piston referb kit....g clamp....extra set of fingers:p
  8. cheers for that gordon. i think it's worth a go before spending possibly lots of money.
  9. hi martin, were your piston/s seized good and proper. i know that the spanner monkey didn't take the caliper off he just said that he tried "everything to shift it" i guess that means different sized hammers. any ideas on the best way to free it???
  10. good point, save a bit on calipers spend a lot everything else.
  11. just jacked up the car and crawled under.....had a waggle....no signs of loose cable/plugs. reset power meter...and what do you know 5 secs and 1183BHP at 223mph...would be cool but sat on the drive:(
  12. not had a price yet, but there web site says £175+ vat each. toyota ones £195ish + vat cheaper and look better, only thing.....toyota buy one.....hi-spec buy two!
  13. hi mos, how do i grt the error code?? and which light should be on?? cheers paul.
  14. hi paul, just had my turbos changed and when it came back the SBC-id was spiking all over the place. phoned the mighty chris wilson his opinion was "plumbing" and as usual was right. the garage hadn't plumbed the controller back in properly, controller IN from turbo controller OUT to the spout on the top of the actuator. and blank off the one on the front of the actuator. mine works fine now:) hope this helps. cheers paul "swamp"
  15. hi all, yesterday tried to change my brake pads, but couldn't shift the pins after an hour of bashing gave up and today took the car to a local spanner monkey, half an hour later spanner monkey tells me that he has changed three of the four front pads but couldn't do the other one as the piston has seized and recommends a new caliper . the point of the thread is... if you do one do you have to do the other at the same time?? iv'e found some calipers from a company called HI-SPEC they do monster kits, rotors etc but they need to know the exact size of the disc, tolerances not very high. anybody heard of them? U.K. disc =320mm am i right???? or is this all spanner monkey price fishing? cheers paul. www.hispecmotorsport.co.uk
