  1. Once we got off the line, we held off a GTR. So we know the power is there. It's just very slow off the line until we hit boost. To get a good 1/4mile time you need a decent 60FT time. Which is why the GTR's are good at drag racing.
  2. You could easily go back, bet you wouldn't though!
  3. Or because Matt has the advantage of the first turbo helping acceleration and giving a better 60FT time. Where as we have to wait 1500-2000rpm for boost in 1st gear.
  4. Why didn't you stay stock twins then?
  5. We can probably have the map tweeked on the gearbox, I doubt that will be an issue. It doesn't happen all the time either only happens on the flappy paddle mode when you're pushing it hard. It doesn't happen in "sport auto" or normal auto. You've also got to remember that this setup is fairly new do tweeks and adjustments will need to be made, I wonder how much time, development, money Toyota spent in the 90's on the stock ecu.
  6. Why do you think it gives us a headache? Have a read of this Gary, http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?303036-Syvecs-Auto-Gearbox-Control-amp-SRD-Paddle-Shift&highlight=paddle+shift
  7. I'd say it's more to do with the stock torque converter, the boost issues we was having on the day, the 50mph headwind that everyone struggled with. We was hitting 2.3/2.5bar of boost on a 1.6bar setting and was boost spiking bad, just one of them things....why do you think the Syvecs isn't doing its job? Why do you think the Toyota ECU is better? As dad previously said, you need to go out in dads supra and get a flavour of what it can do on the street. I'll happily take you out in it and show you the sport auto mode, flappy paddle setup etc... We could easily put a TH400 gearbox and 4000rpm hi stall in the car, wack a pair of Mickey Thompson radials on and probably run mid 10's all day.
  8. I don't get what you're trying to get at Gary if I'm being honest, how is the gearbox control killing our times? The thing that kills our times is the stock torque converter, and you should know that because you also have a stock converter. We've had a precision industries 3800rpm hi stall fitted previously and run a 12.065@128mph at 607bhp and dad will happily back that up. But we opted to swap back to the stock converter because the hi stall sucked on the street, and at the end of the day it's a street car we use quite often and travel around Europe in it.
  9. You could fit about 3 of me in that size jumper!
  10. Have you looked at ASNU injectors Mark?
  11. RM polishing & gold plating in Kent.
  12. That's why I love my GT86, a proper drivers car
  13. This is a 4" HKS Ti fitted to our car! Sits perfect and ground clearance is good.
  14. My best time in the GT86. Cobra Catback Exhaust, K&N Panel Filter. 1/4 mile - 86.36 60 FT - 2.4731 E.T. - 15.7667
  15. Really good, very impressed with the positive gearchanges now. I missed 2nd gear once in the whole day which was the gear that can be a pain to engage. The heavier gearknob has made it a lot easier though .
  16. I spun 1st gear that run, I beat Gail on back-to-back runs though! It was a close match though
  17. iPhone weather is pants, BBC weather/MET office is the most reliable I find. But yeah should be sunny intervals and wind, strong winds are due to arrive at Santa pod around 11am. - - - Updated - - - Wishful thinking More like a 50mph headwind!
  18. Where do you get your forecast from? All the sites I look on are saying dry but windy.
  19. Cool mate, think there will be about 5 of us.
  20. Bump! Are all times till going ahead? Me, dad, and a couple of others will be at shell garage J28 on M25 at 7am Saturday morning.
  21. Yes good news about the weather, shame about the wind but hopefully it may benefit us
  22. Weather is looking better, still very windy though.
  23. It's always forecasted wind, possibly up to 50mph at times. I'm not sure if they will allow racing to commence if the winds are that strong? I'd say it's still to early to call, but to be fair it has changed a little bit for the better. I've been keeping a close eye on it all week. But we won't really know for definite until Thursday/Friday.
