Hi What do people think of the MK2 MR2 Turbo?....I have heard them compared favourably to 911's??....I fancy grabbing a cheap one ( £1000 ish) and checking it out....any comments?

Hi all I plan to stick a TT into my N/A, and also want to replace the OE Toyota seats with some sports ones... I do like the idea of saving weight ( i estimate that the current drivers seats must weigh 40kg, with the elec motors, and the passenger about 30kg ) which is the weight of an average bloke...so replacing them with a pair weighing anything from 12kg the pair to 25kg the pair must be of benefit....trouble is, I dont what to go for....im 6'2'', and about 15 stone, and I do want to be comfy....any ideas?

Hi Having never driven a MK 3 Supra, I am just wondering, are they any good?....I have read reviews from the day, which say thing like ' aspired to by Division 3 footballers, and mildy successful estate agents!'..and that they had ' the pace, but not the integrity to be a budget Porsche'....but they look funky...old school, with a bit of Knight Rider and Mad Max thrown in!....If I were to get one, it would be a manual turbo.....but can anyone advise as to whether they can handle, and are they worth bothering with...

Hi, thats sounds very promising....am I correct in thinking that the only real downside with the 1JZ is that max power is restricted to approx 380 bhp?....not that 380 bhp is too be sniffed at!...I would be more than happy with that..

Hi There are a few Soarers on ebay at the minute, and I am thinking about grabbing one......aside from the tt engine, what other parts can i use on a Supra?....i am guessing: 1 the discs and calipers 2 the shocks What about anti roll bars?

Hi, no way!!! Thats 3 times what the car cost me! lol.....If anything, I should probably sell this N/A and get a TT...but in the meantime, i dont mind chucking a couple of quid at it...I would go £500-£600 MAX on a suspension set up.....and I would be happy with a used set for a couple of ton...

Hi I was planning to buy a second hand set of OE Bilsteins and lowering springs off Ebay, but missed the end of the auction......Now I am thinking why not buy something new or more useful.....How much of a difference would a set of coilovers make over say a set of standard shocks?....Its the handling im concerned with...I could forgo comfort for SUBSTANTIAL handling benefits.....I intend to use the car on track days....Also, is there much of a difference between say Tein, BC Racing, D2 Racing, Maxspeeding etc?....And am i right in thinking the lowering function is in-built automatically, or do i need to be concerened about spring rates? .........Im not sure how low I want the car to be, I just want great handling:) cheers Billy

Hi All Thanks for all the advice...... .ok, 1) i plan to replace the front seats ( esp the drivers with this one i found on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280726533440?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 £250 for a new lightweight seat? seems good value. 2) I have seen a set of Toyota Bilsteins with 40mm lowering springs on ebay too, i am going to buy them. (£100 ish?) 3) I also saw a HKS Induction kit ( £150 ish) , which I think i will buy, OR, would a £50 KnN or Pipercross filter do the job? 4) I believe my current brakes are factory standard, so, is it worth spending £250 ish on new discs/pads all round? And braided hoses? What brand should i go for? 5) My car currently sits on 18's; should a i get a set of 16-17 '' wheels? 6) Finally, oil/filter change, coolant flush and performance brake fluid. That seems like a good starting point to me.....I will keep you all posted cheers Billy

Hi all Im a new member, having got my hands on a 1993 non turbo auto Supra....just wondered if anyone has any advice/ideas about prepping for track use....does anyone use a non turbo auto on the track?.....i am thinking about a carbon fibre bonnet, is it worth spending £600 ish for the weight saving?....also, what is the most power gain i could hope to get from a good exhaust/manifold/induction kit/performance air filter/re-map?..also, what about suspension?...does anyone know a good setup that is reasonable money?..i dont want to spend silly money, but just fancy having a little tinker with it...if i had to choose bewteen more power or better handling, i would go for the handling... any help much appreciated Billy

Hi all, I have just joined the forum, due to buying a 1993 3.0 non turbo auto Supra....I will try to add some photos when i can, but I have a few questions and I was hoping for some advice and knowledge.. 1 when driving the car with the steering wheel in the 'up' tilt position, the car is very wallowy and unprecise, with very little feedback from the wheels, but when I put it in the 'down' position the steering and throttle response both become alot sharper...is this normal? plus, do other people find the car is not at its best when the roads are a little greasy? 2 my 'estimated' 0-60 times from a standing start are around 6 ish secs ( just counting in my head)....it does seem very fast for a non turbo, but it doesnt seem to be modd'd....is this average performance? 3 how good would this car be as a trackday toy? my impression is that the 4 speed autobox is quite clever, holding revs nicelt at about 4000 when caning it...what do other people think? 4 i have Continental tyres all round, 255's rear and 235's front on 18'' wheels....great in the dry, not too sure about in the wet....what are the best tyres on these cars? cheers Billy
