  1. ok, back to the subject of cars etc (just briefly!!)....there is a late 80's Celica GT4..ST185...for sale....about 5 miles away from me.....just a £1000....is that a better track day proposition than my 'vile' n/a!!?? lol...I might go and look at it...
  2. Yes, you did...in fact I probably need to lend YOU some DVD's!....we will discuss more when I am sober! lol
  3. Merci Beaucop sir...that's very helpful....I wont study it too hard right now, mainly because the bottle of Bacardi is calling!...but I will read it properly tomorrow...
  4. Debbie Does Dallas?...or Timmy Does Tommy??...lol - - - Updated - - - Im only having a laugh....its the 'n/a' fever...kicks in around this time of night....I need another Barcardi
  5. and...just having a twin turbo car does NOT make you a driver!...any fool can buy a powerful car....knowing how to handle a machine at high speed is a different matter...but, hey, who's bragging!? lol...
  6. Arthur Daley? Absolute class ( I also have an XJS! ....that sounds good...I will also need to get a roll cage...its currently on 18'' wheels....I should drop down to 16's....
  7. I am thinking about doing rallycross, and as I already have a 93 MK4 Supra, I am considering shedding some weight from it and just using it...the other option is to buy a 944..anyway, can I shed 200 kg?...that would be ideal...bringing it down to 1280 kg....and upping the bhp/ton from 148 to 171..... .the most obvious items: 1replace all glass with plastic ( apart from frontscreen) 2 window motors 3 air con 4 door cards/carpets/rear seats 5 replace front seats ( retain 1 lightweight seat) 6 rear wiper It doesn't look as if 200kg is realistic...100kg MAYBE, at a push...making it 159 bhp/ton... I will mull it over...all ideas welcome
  8. Hi all...I am in Smethwick, by the West Brom Albion...Ok, so Matt is defo a guy to do the job?....I may just go and grab that engine then...
  9. A little...to be honest, I bought it on impulse....and do you know what?...im bloody glad! lol...its awesome....like a ready to go race car........to me, its all just a learning curve.....i am happy to have 'cut my teeth' on a n/a....and i think as an everyday, all year round car, they are fab...i could just sell this one and buy a tt....but do you know what?...i think im in love with my car! lol lol....aaah...im easily pleased!!
  10. One thing though...having never driven a tt, is it true that the n/a is the sweeter handler, due to less weight at the front?.....that is something i love about my car as it is...
  11. Is he ok then? can i trust my car, and money, in his hands?
  12. Type this link into your browser and it will bring up one of his threads....i dont know if he is actually part of a company, or just a one man band, but some others on here were singing his praises: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?238574-Offland-s-big-single-and-weight-reduction-build
  13. Hi, i think hes well known on this site...got a place in Shropshire i think...to be fair, i am happy with my car as it is....i just happened to come across a cheap engine...i will try and add some pics...had the car almost 1 year now
  14. Hi, cheers...only thing is by the time i get all those bits, i will have spent near enough the same as an engine conversion to 1jz tt....n/a mods are not cost effective....i think thats my bottom line now...
  15. Hi, thanks for that. I am considering a 1jz engine...i think its better going down the 'tt swap' route, rather than n/a...i just thought if i could get 20ish bhp CHEAPLY it would do for the time being...but its not going to be cheap....thing is, i love the balance of the n/a...and linear power delivery...but the guy who i am going to have the conversion done is off this site...Matt Offland...so he should know what to do! lol.....i emailed him yonks ago, but have been 'umming and rrring' for ages now....but now have come accross what looks to be a decent and cheap! 1jz..i will get hold of the engine first and then email him....cheers for help
  16. Hi, ok, so how much power do you reckon your car produces? And what is the total ish cost of all the bits you just mentioned? and does the MINES ecu only work in conjunction with the other bits and pieces? and what does it actually do? cost wise, I think i can buy a 1jz tt for around £700, and about the same again to install it. which doesnt seem bad value. but then i have to upgrade the brakes and suspension....
  17. cheers, i will go that and keep it simple for now
  18. will Hi, cheers. ok, so mine is a 1993...it will have a cat converter? how much power s gained by removing it? and is it worth the bother changing the intake and exhaust manifolds for 'performance' items? if so, who makes the best ones?
  19. Hi, does anyone know of a PROVEN and TRIED AND TESTED superchip or ECU upgrade/re-map etc for NON TURBO Supra Mk4's? No need to tell me 'get a twin turbo' etc etc, I am well aware that for real power gains forced induction is needed I would be happy to consider anything offering approx 20 bhp All I am after at this stage is something to combine with a quality air filter and quality exhaust system...like I had on my Porsche 944...I paid £50, and in conjunction with a £50 k n n filter, gained a noticable mid range urge and exhaust note! Any advice much appreciated
